So my postmaster one day had me go to the office with him. The day before I had to call out because I would take my daughter to the doctor for a high fever and be a nurse all day. He sat me down and asked me "what happened yesterday? I needed you and you did not come in?" I told him that I already today him the night before that I am having trouble keeping her fever down. He yelled at me and told me that I need to get a "power of attorney" because he needed me more than my daughter. I got pissed off and shut his office door with Jim and I in there and yelled at him saying "family is first". I told him if I am worried about my daughter the entire day my mindset is only on her and I can't concentrate on driving or the job. He was so pissed after I told him when I walked out to get back to work that he told me that he was not done with me. I told him "no, I am done. I have to get back to work now"
Typical. Zero compassion. If it was HIS daughter and YOU said that to HIM what would he do and feel and how would he look at you forever after. It's NOT worth it, to put up with that kind of abuse.

Jay, people have to deal with being move from their bit jobs twice every week having work in their area instead of moving the mail handlers and some of them have a blast doing it. They suck.
We just got a new plant manager in our plant in PA and he has zero person skills and can not discuss issues or problems, he automatically goes straight to raising his voice and demanding we get away from him and just go to work...
I reached that point and changed my end goal!! The management used my end goal to help them. When I asked for help, none was given. I now have let go of my end goals and it feels so good. I know my worth and will let that shine. Now my PM is trying to say I won't get the job because I won't help this time? I'm good. 🙂
Keep filling Grievances! Stewards must be able to gather the information necessary to take the grievance to higher levels, not more under the table deals.. If a grievance must go Step 3 or arbitration.. Go for...! Don't let management settled at your local, make big can get when it reach arbitration..!
Great statement Jay. A lot of the senior employees want the new employees to dislike another employee because they have different's with that employee.
Yo, I don't know why we talk so much about DEALING with it, when there's an option to leave. The toxicity will always affect you, whether you deal with it or not. The Post Office knows the environment is toxic and they don't plan on changing things, they just hope they can convince enough people that the pay is worth it.
My wife gave me some essential oils that I bring with me everyday. I pull it out and smell it everytime I feel like I am going to blow. It doesn't solve the problem but it helps short term.

I've stood on the sidelines long enough without saying anything, well I threw a monkey wrench in the mix. This person cried and moaned to someone about me because I told this person do your damn job, along with some other stuff. They started started the paperwork and when this person put my name down the party said yeah, not gonna happen. We heard the correct story. Then they said you do realize Chazz is a highly decorated combat Vet with an impeccable service record and a outstanding worker here. You trying to smear his name, your not gonna win this, and if push comes to shove if Chazz wants you outta of this section, going through the motions, he can make it happen. Then they said you must have slept through orientation because we honor our Vets here and you have a terrible work history here already. Then they said, our advice to you is to turn around and just leave. That's what was told to me yesterday.
Yeah, someone from the third floor pulled me aside and said so and so is trying to file a harassment charge against you. I said that BS, I didn’t harass anybody. They said we know, we saw the video camera. You guys think those cameras are fake, think again
Sometimes I get in trouble for doing too much work. Tour 2 kind of lucky because our MBO it’s not there right now, but they trust us to get all the work done , but Tour 3 comes in let’s just say they’re not the best workers This is when the Toxic work environment begins . I am going to make the prediction tour. Three mail handlers are so bad that they will lose all their mail to Santa Clarita next year or this year. These people are in such denial that changes coming. They think everything is OK. Right now in my building we’re so understaffed the management can’t even handle suspensions for attendance.
Young post master live on their phone. You can't tell if she is on her phone or talking to you. Actually has a blue tooth. I don't even take my phone. Younger generation Is a trip.
Before the covid pandemic, there were more team bonding USPS activities. Even in the private sector, team building is required to cultivate an atmosphere to keep everyone on the same mission to move the mail. Also, it is an opportunity for management to voluntarily give back versus facing a bunch of grievances. I was not invited to any Christmas gatherings in my department in 2022. I bid out and love my new team.

Help any advice I was selected for reassign they requested 3 items 2 were submitted but last thing needed was evaluation form 1 week went by mngt did not respond and submit the third item needed ...I approached night ops mngt and he said hell take care of it never happened twice this week again y email requested to mgt to send evaluation form it's a week now never happened he ignored my email next day he said hey I need a name to send it gave it to him today nothing g was sent hr office hasnt recvd form ...... Why ????? Are they doing this I just want to quit now seeing that they really like to push there employees button they don't even care for us to move on all I wanted was to relocate by reassign .

Unfortunately union reps r scared n they just turn the eye. So sad, we have a very toxic supervisor that make the work place hell.
I don’t know how to tackle this issue yet… I’m going to be a steward soon and chat with prez to see what we can do in our office
