Warped UA-camrs was a huge regret from the festivals end, having figures like Bryan stars, Johnnie guilbert, Veeoneeye, and more on the tour.
Lets look at the downfall of this project and see what went wrong.

I met veeoneeye at warped when I was 14. I was so nervous to approach him and was totally prepared for a quick photo and he’d dip but surprisingly he chatted with my friends and I for like 20 minutes. We were on cloud 9, he was laughing and joking with us like we were peers. We got so many pics together. Looking back I cringe and slap my hands over my face at how he was interacting with us as children. We also met ghost town after their set and they were nice but brief and only sorta side hugged us back and kept it cool. In the moment we were sad we didn’t secure our dream boys but that was how all of those interactions should have been going down between grown men and children.
You had to mention Ghost Town of all bands?

I met Ghost Town as well and they signed my Instax camera when I heard about all the stuff afterward I gave that camera away, it made me sick to look at. I even had Go Pro footage of me talking to the lead singer before their set started while they were backstage. 🤢
Poor Johnnie honestly he's the only one you know of that's still making content and is actually funny, and from what I know, was the only one who never actually did anything 😭

never forget Bryan’s camera man, Harry, was physically and maybe mentally crippled. he was in a wheelchair. i really wonder if he took advantage of him as well. Harry was always sweet when we spoke.

I never heard about Harry I do know Johnny used to film a lot of his videos interviewing bands too and even had Johnny living with him but hiding him from adults so they wouldn't question why he has a minor living with him he also had a drinking problem and would often get Johnny and other mde members to drink with him
I never knew that but I remember going to warped tour in middle school and meeting mde but sadly I saw Bryan and just walked away

I went to warped tour for the first time as a teen to see My Digital Escape. Pierce the Veil and sleeping with sirens were there too so I was truly thriving
I remember seeing long lines for bryan stars while seriously great bands were playing LIVE at their primes and wonder what their problem was.... they missed the whole day for a youtuber.
broo i remember being so pissed going to warped 2016 and not being able to find the youtubers lmaoo, my sister would tell me abt meeting bryan stars in 2015 but she had only known him from the interviews

This accelerated the downfall of Warped Tour...
People saying these UA-camrs take away from the point of warped, the “music,” completely misunderstand the entire actual point of warped tour, which is THE COMMUNITY. As an emo kid from a small town I cannot express enough how good it feels the moment you drive up to warped and see the lineup of thousands of people that are just like you and that is just the tip of the iceberg, when you are walking around warped it is fucking surreal, it feels like the most “home” thing i have ever experienced and this is not unique to me. Yes, the music is at the center of this, but it has created a community. These things go hand in hand. It’s enjoying this music together that really matters. And these UA-camrs are for the most part people who are at the center of some of these communities, like little hubs where we can continue to be together. Just because music isn’t suddenly being talked about into infinity anymore doesn’t mean anything is lost, and it’s ridiculous to have such a piss fit about it as some musicians have done. Many have made good points about youth and fame when talking about UA-camrs, but those are separate arguments and as Trenton pointed out, also relevant to musicians (and insanely so, half of the bands I listened to got cancelled for their abuse of idol status, many times including SA/PDF shit). Definitely feels like jealousy or something like that driving the hatred their way at the time

it's mind-blowing that cyr is the same cyr that used to be one of Shane Dawson's friends back in the day. I started to see him pop up in my favorite streamer's videos and streams and I was like I think I recognize him from somewhere and then it clicked and I was shook. I'm glad he's doing better for himself and found his home in otk.

I remember a time when warped tour had those Myspace 'celebs' like Audrey Kitching and Hanna Beth show up and girls would get pissed off and scream random things at them 🫠

@@VIIZZZYY they had a booth the entire tour.. one tour even had actor Matthew Lillard show up to promote his movie, he had a booth, he usually had less than 10 people show up to meet him ! Now he has lines that last for hours at comic cons where people pay 100 plus to meet the guy. 🫠
I remember meeting Patty Walters at warped tour but his band As it is was playing there.

i still dont understand why Kevin Lyman had to just end warped and even if it was a headache to continue why didint he just pass the torch to someone that would continue it.. life hasnt been the same without warped tour and i feel like ALOT of other feel the same way when i say he killed the scene when it ended. and ik chris from Attila was saying he was going to resurrect it but its been years of him saying that and its probably just all talk. wish someone would just step in and bring it back cause those were the best years of my life .-.
I swear, the only UA-camr i wanted to meet back in ‘15 and ‘16 was Jarrod Alonge. I had no clue about the other UA-camrs minus Bryan Stars
These guys suck but the idea that any of the warped tour bands would point to the youtubers and be like "those guys are creeps" would most likely be a hypocrite 😂

I first went to warped in 04’ and tbh I’m glad it ended becuz toward the ends I was just really confused on what they were trying to accomplish with it. It’s like they were trying to please everyone, even with things that weren’t directly tied to music.

He's phenomenal, the last time I saw him in person was about 2 years ago at another music festival lol. When I 1st met him at Warped he let me borrow his phone XD My battery died and I couldn't find my friends I went with and he was so happy to help. I adore him.

The main focus of Warped tour should be music and band/fan relationship building. UA-camr's should have zero intervention in that.

i met veeoneeye when i was a very obvious teen (like 15) at warped tour and he was walking around so i went up to him for a picture and i was wet from pouring water on myself bc of the heat and he said something along the lines of 'youre so wet i do tend to have that effect of girls' (not a quote but generally what he said) and it's still the weirdest encounter i've had with a """"celebrity"""" like who makes sexual jokes to a CHILD 😭😭😭 weirdo behavior
You were “cooking” til you supported youtubers in a music festival. That alone tells you Warped Tour went downhill. When they veered off music and started contracting random acts - they lost all integrity
Having UA-camrs at the fest brought more heads, these heads can convert into fans of bands they discover that day. Having a tent for these guys have no negative impact AT ALL with the exception of the drama I spoke about

@@VIIZZZYY I'm guessing Kevin picked who went the 1st year, but I'm not sure about that specifically with the VeeOneEye thing.
The issue was Kevin placed the responsibility on Bryan Stars for the 2nd year to decide who should go on the tour. So Bryan stacked the lineup with people he managed so he would make a profit off of all of them. The only one Bryan didn't manage from the 2nd year was Damon because as you mentioned he kept declining Bryan's advances to join his management company.

How in the flying flip did people ever like him? I've heard a lot of people say they thought it was funny to see him dressed preppy while interviewing hardcore bands. But I just kept seeing all his red-flag moments.

I never watched the other weird stuff he would do for humor, it just seemed extremely cringe to me. oh man I have so many pictures with exposed creeps and I was 16 ALONE at warped tour in 2012. My parents thought I'd be fine (and I was) but I would never let my own children do that. Ricky Horror interacted with me like an adult should have, I remember that though.
