Love the 440 I am beginner about to take a trip to Myrtle Beach. What kind of settings do you suggest to run on the wet sand. Thank you for your time sir love your channel
@@7777vols Thank you for the comment! Yes the Vanquish 440 is an excellent detector! I recommend using beach mode for the wet salt sand and turning the sensitivity down to stable (running quietly/no chatter). Keep me updated on what you find!
Thanks for the quick review. informative, easy to use.
As a complete novice, I found your video supremely helpful, thanks and keep the great work up.
Thank you very much and happy hunting!
Bought this 440 today. Knew nothing about it. Watched this video and now I have full confidence that I not only bought the right one for me, but you taught me exactly what I needed to know to hit the ground! Thanks!
I watched it twice and I still haven’t figured it out yet and I ordered the same detector idk 🤷♂️
@@williewaynewheelbarrowtoma4436 Hello i also just bought that detector what do you have problems with?
We got the Mine-Lab Vanquish 540 a couple weeks ago and love it but we have a lot to learn about it.
Helpful video thank you it was driving me mad on the beach I went to I’m new to this and I really like my vanquish 440
Great review of a great detector!!! My wife bought me a 440 for our anniversary and I love it!!!
Thank you for the comment! Yes the Minelab Vaquish 440 is an excellent all around metal detector!
Nice showing of the Vanquish, that's one of the ones I take with me when I go out hunting.
Thank you for the comment! Yes.. I was very impressed with this detector... you cant beat this detector for the price!
Where are you at Ed? Missed your videos brother. Hope all is well.
Mate 👍 I bought my misses the 440 2months ago good little unit works great
Thank you Pete! Yes that Vanquish 440 is very impressive for the price!
I just bought mine two days ago and I'm trying it out here watch this video to understand how it works
Great review! You got my subscription keep up the great work
Thank you and welcome to the channel!
I am happy to see this Ed. Was thinking about getting the wife a detector since she wants to get out hunting with me. Plus serve as a back up to my Nox. Love that it has the multi frequency feature and would be easy for her to understand it. Thanks for another great video.
Thank you for the comment Paul! Yes this Minelab Vanquish 440 would be perfect for your wife and a back up detector for you as well! Locks on to coins very well and only weighs 2 lbs!
Greetings from Norway🇳🇴. Thank you! Doing my first serious metaldetecting this week with my new 340, so this was very useful.
Awesome and good luck to you!
Hi Tove greetings from South Africa ...hope it goes well I'm looking in at getting myself one.
The 340 is all you'll ever need 😊
Great instruction very enjoyable cheers
Hi From Oz Ed,
I recently lost a bezel off my Rolex watch whilst I was mulching the garden. I’ve borrowed a Minelab Vanquish 440. The mulch is approx 2-5 inches deep…do you think the detector is likely to find the bezel (stainless steel and gold)? Thanks in advance.
Well Ed I answered my own question lol just watched your video .. great stuff . Oh I think ,no no I know I'm going to have much more fun with this machine...
Awesome demonstration bro, on the vanguis 440,take care, happy hunting.
Thank you for the comment! Yes I was really impressed with the Vanquish... Awesome Detector for the Price!
Hint tip.......run all metal ...... but cancel out minus 9 and 8 only ..........eliminates all the chatter so you can run higher sensitivity
Thank you Rob for the Tip! I will give it a try!
Thanks for the vanquish showing. I haven’t had a chance to go detecting in over 2 months, due to all the driving. Anyhow have a great day.
Thank you for the comment Thomas and its good to hear from you! Sounds like you are working a lot... hopefully things will slow down a little for you!
Great review on the Vanquish thanks
The majority of 25-30 targets I get on coin mode turn out to be big really old iron nails.. do you think my 440 is faulty? The tones go high to low on 360 check hitting 25+ but majority is iron?
wow man this was bye far one coolest video i went believe it or not 540 pro bundle its been pretty good
So that high number range is a good sign that it's a good metal and low and negative is iron and your other metals?
Boy does that machine lock on hard! Love the video Ed! Great detector for a great price! Did some rare night hunting last night. 1 quarter and plenty of trash! Ha!
Thank you Mega Cladder! Yes... this Vanquish locks onto coins really well... loves Quarters! I need you to have like 3 or 4 more hunts to where you only find 1 Quarter and I might be able to catch you this month..lol! It's been a Slow start for me!
Haha! That was a sad night finding only 1 quarter.
I own 540 vanquish and I would put it up against any dector made and score just as munch if not more than most expensive dector made a most excellent machine any condition out there.
That looks like it operates very similar to a Garrett machine. Love the Equinox 800 I bought from you guys.
Good job!
Thanks!
I'm a newbie, time to step it up, now. Very informative video, thanks )
Thank you Charles and welcome to the channel!
Hey Ed, Thanks for the great review. Does this detector need ground balancing? Also, how do you find out if your soil is mineralized or not? Thanks! 😀
Thank you for the comment! The vanquish does not need to be ground balanced... very easy turn and go ... also very effective!
Great actual field test and review. HH and be well Ed
Thank you for the comment Ezra!
I like how u show how much junk u realy have to dig to get god stuff i just bought a vanquish and am tearing up the parks in Alaska keep it up and show more numbers when u get stuff thanks
Thank you for the comment Klif! Yes I keep this channel as real as it gets.... I dig a lot of trash and a lot of modern coins but I do strike Gold & Silver every once in awhile! I love just being out treasure hunting.... finding something good is just a bonus!
So new to detecting here and I really like old tools and stuff so my question is
Do I have to dig everything to find stuff like super old padlocks and whatnot? Old farm tools and odd stuff like that?
I have the 540 by the way… any help is appreciated
I'd been thinking a Garrett ace 250. Should I consider this instead? ....
Great video, I wish they had a coil like that for the equinox
Thank you for the comment .... yes I was actually thinking the same thing!
I’m New to Detecting .
I call Treasure mountain after watching Hours and Hours of UA-cam videos one of the channels I found and subscribed to is History Seekers. I like their approach and knowledge southern men like myself But They Are in Alabama ,I’m 15 Miles south Of Tupelo . Y’all got a Feller that works @Treassure MT. Heath , that I saw on History Seekers found Your channel subscribed 👍 called store talked with Heath a couple of times and I Decided on the MLV 440 . Ordered detector, received it nice. I’m not understanding the settings exactly what to set it on then how to read what it is telling me. I think the factory forgot to put the Instruction manual in box There’s two pieces of Literature one of thick paper folded with assembly and Controls but not how to use them. The other is written in other languages 🤷♂️ I will keep watching videos hopefully I’ll have that AH HA moment and I’ll get it , figure it out. They really should put more Literature in the box💯
I have to read it several times get it in my head to understand that’s just me. Thx for y’all’s knowledge and Time!!💯
Nice Ed! keep on swinging
Thank you very much Bob!
Thanks Ed for the video and information ! Looks like a nice affordable detector.
Thank you for the comment David! Yes the Minelab Vanquish 440 is only $279... Excellent all around detector for the price! Hope you are well sorry I have not been about much last day so if I have missed any of your videos will have a catch up today sorry guys dont like missing your videos
Thank you for the comment and good to have you back!
Is the Vanquish waterproof? Good video Ed.
Hi Dennis! No the Vanquish is not waterproof nor is the Garrett APEX... the waterproof machines are the Garrett AT Series and Minelab Equinox Series... Also the Nokta Simplex is waterproof!
Thanks for another great video 👍
Thank you for the comment Rat rod Nation!
Thanks for sharing the Vanquish detector! It looks like a quality cheap detector. There is no reason for someone not to get into the hobby with a good reasonable detector.
Thank you for the comment Scott! Yes... I agree with you... Awesome quality and performance for the entry level machine! Great for a beginner just getting into the hobby or for an expert wanting a good back up detector to their high end machine!
I love this video.
I live down the road from Minelab and they sell over here for $499 for the 440. Even at the exchange rate and shipping to Americe, i have no idea how you get them for $279. That's close to half price
Thank you for the comment! Yes as an Authorized Minelab Dealer I can sell the 440 version for $279 shipped within the US. Its an excellent all around detector for the price! www.treasuremtndetectors.com/collections/minelab1/products/minelab-vanquish-440-metal-detector?variant=31619542614121
Minelab Vanquish 340 whats that one like compared to this one in your video ?
Hi which is better vanquish 340 or Gofind 66..im so confused which of this 2 as starter detector pls help me
Thank you for the comment and welcome to my channel! Out of those 2 metal detectors I would definitely go with the Vanquish 340... that metal detector has multi-IQ technology and can process targets much faster and accurate than the GoFind 66. Another great starter metal detector is the Garrett APEX which is a multifrequency metal detector as well. The advantages of a multifrequency metal detector is that you are running the optimal low frequencies for highly conductive metals (like silver, copper, etc..) and optimal high frequencies for low conductive metals (like Gold). Also they tend to perform a little more stable in highly mineralized areas like wet salt sand or gold bearing areas. I hope this helps and please check out my website for the best deals on metal detectors! www.treasuremtndetectors.com/
I like the idea of the 540 in case I ever wanted to add bluetooth headphones (just wish it was waterproof).
Thank you Nick! Yes... and if you already have the Equinox ... then go with the standard 540 because the Equinox headphones will work on it!
I have the 440. Easily converted to wireless with a $15 bluetooth transmitter Amazon, Staples, BestBuy
Great review, thanks for teaching! Have you ever done one for the simplex?
Thank you very much We Dig It! I have never used the Simplex ... have you used it?
Adventures With Ed Huffman yes, my boys bought me one for my birthday and I’m learning it. Gene still uses the Max so we’ve now doubled our detecting! I am impressed with it, still learning it, vdi is a little different than the Max.
Impressive machine for the low cost.
Yes its awesome for the price... you cant beat it for the cost!
very informative video
Thank you for the comment Jim D!
Great machines 👍👍👍
Thank you for the comment! Yes... I agree.. the Vanquish cant be beat for the price!
Ed what numbers are the nickels displaying as in the VDI? I still have yet to find one with the Nox. Thanks!
Thank you for the comment! A nickel comes in at 12 and sometimes 13... if it hits on 13 and drops down to 12 then 80% of the time its a nickel... also slight chance it could be a gold ring or pulltab. If you get a 12 then jumps up to 13 or 14 ...80% of the time its a pulltab.. also slight chance it could be a gold ring or nickel. That nickel/gold range is tough because a lot of the mixture of metals in the nickel.. pulltab and gold rings..... safe bet for nickels is solid 12.
Adventures With Ed Huffman, Ed you are a wealth of knowledge, thank you.
Adventures With Ed Huffman I found my first nickel this weekend! It came in at a 12! Thanks again for the help!
@@jhwk9575 Awesome and Congratulations!
Will it find gold, for sure? Nice plugs.
Yes it will definitely find Gold if it's there! Thank you for the comment!
I read that the Vanquish 540 does well in mineralized soil. How does the 440 do in mineralized ground?
The 540 and 440 are both based on the Multi-IQ technology... same as the Equinox Series as well. They will all perform well and around the same in mineralized soil. If you would like to talk ore in detail please give me a call at Treasure mountain Detectors and I can work you out a good deal too when your ready!
@@AdventuresWithEdHuffman I appreciate the reply. Sounds good.
I just have a question.. which one would you pick a vanquish 440 or simplex+ for a novice. Im leaning towards simplex because its waterproof but can you make the vanquish waterproof?
Thank you for the comment... honestly you cant go wrong with either one of those.. they are both great novice detectors... also look at the Garrett AT Series.
279?? I paid 375 Sfr. For it from an authorized dealer :( . But still an awesome machine nonetheless
Edit : also I'm still not sure where the exact pinpoint spot is. Is it a little bit under the front edge of the coil or..?
Thank you for the comment! You probably got the Vanquish 540 .. I was referring to the 440 for $279. Also a good way to narrow down that pinpoint is to lay a quarter down on the ground to where you can see it and then practice the pinpoint method and you will see exactly where it is under the coil when pinpointing. I hope this helps and feel free to contact me anytime!
great video well explained I have the 540 pro pack I don't have a very positive opinion of it It's constantly shutting it self off even with a full charged battery it falses constantly It will ID a target and when you dig it there's nothing in the plug or the hole thank you
Thank you for the comment and sorry to hear about the bad experience! It sounds like you may have a defective unit... I would definitely see about getting warranty repair done on it.
Hey great video .. I was wondering if it's possible to switch out the coil from the vanquish to the equinox and equinox to the vanquish.. are they both compatible..
Thank you for the comment! Unfortunately the coils are not interchangeable.
My X-terra 305 has now sadly passed away, would the Vanquish 440 be a good buy in comparison?
Sorry to hear about the X-Terra 305! Yes.. the Vanquish 440 would be an excellent upgrade from the 305. I personally think the 440 is the best one in the Vanquish lineup!
@@AdventuresWithEdHuffman Excellent I ordered one today 😁
Yea thanks I like your video on the 440 I have the 540 I just bought 5 days ago I bought it because of that multi-frequency and I really Wanterd the Nox 800 but it seams to hard to remember all the settings .but the vanquish 540 I like how deep it gos it’s seems to go to deep on the beach I had the 8” on and I got Australian $2 coins down at 15 inches and 18 inches deep I couldn’t get it out because it was In the wet sand .but out of all the coils do you think the 10x7 coil would be better for detecting in a park for coins or do you think the 8 “ coil is better for coins in amongst more junk I mean would the v10 inch coil separate junk as good as the 8 “ but at the same time the v10 will go deeper then the 8” I’d like to buy the v10” coil but not sure it’s $199 Australian dollars just for the coil so I’m not sure if it be as good as the 8” tho ?
Thank you for the comment Michael! I am a big fan of that V10 coil because your exactly right it gets pretty much the same seperation as the 8" but also goes deeper than the 8" coil! The V10 is my top choice for parks!
@@AdventuresWithEdHuffman are thank you very much that’s what I was actually thinking and I will buy that coil I can only get the v10 for $199 Australian dollars that’s the cheapest I can see it any where witch is only through eBay in Australia CAIRNS QLO up the top end I think Amazon might have it but I’m not with them .
I like it. is it waterproof?
Thank you Dennis! Only the coil is waterproof not the control box.
Can you discriminate for just a silver ring? Someone has lost a ring and I was looking for an excuse to purchase this detector. Thanks
No you cant discriminate just for a silver ring but you can put the odds in your favor
I have the nox 800, do you think the Vanquiosh is faster?
Thank you for the comment Bob! No the Equinox is faster but the Vanquish would be a great back up or second detector to compliment the Equinox!
What mode are you using ???
Thank you for the comment! I like run Jewelry mode because it will let in more mid tones (gold tones) than the coin mode.
@@AdventuresWithEdHuffman ok , I just got one and I live on an old farmstead with two ne of junk in the ground so I’m trying to figure it out
Hey buddy, do you think that the Vanquish 540 could pick fine gold in high mineralization ground??
Vs the Monster Gold 1000??
The Vanquish 540 is basically an all around good detector for coins, jewelry and relics. When it comes to fine gold in mineralized ground.... that is getting into some difficult detecting conditions... the Vanquish will not be a good detector for that. Definitely go for the Gold Monster... it is designed for those conditions with its technology and high frequencies. Let me know if your interested in one and I can work you out a good deal!
@@AdventuresWithEdHuffman I would love a good deal on the Monster Gold 1000, Anaconda is having a Black Friday and has it 20% off @$950 , if you can beat that , would be superdooper
I bought the Minelab Gold Monster 1000!!! Yeah yeah
Congratulations and keep me updated on those Gold finds!
Is the vanquish 540 better than the xterra 705?
I would say yes ... only because its true multi-frequency and its processing speed on targets is much faster!
@@AdventuresWithEdHuffman thanks for your input, do you have experience with a fisher f75 also? Thanks again
Can the 440 be ground balanced?
Not manually but it does automatically ground balance itself. I was really impressed with this detector... excellent all around detector for the price!
Okay so it truly does ground balance itself? Does it adjust as you go? I live in Georgia with high mineralization so it concerns me a little bit not being able to ground balance. Thank you
How deep das it go
Gets about 10 inches depth on a buried US Quarter... depending on the Soil Conditions.
Bos berapa harganya ya,pengin beli,? Salam dari Indonesia
Thank you for the comment! We sell this metal detector for $279 .... shipped within the US. www.treasuremtndetectors.com/collections/minelab1/products/minelab-vanquish-440-metal-detector?variant=31619542614121
Good machine but lacks build quality .
Hi ed, do you know which frecuency does the vanquish run ? Could be the same frecuency than equinox 600 ? Or at less one over 15hz , I Dont know if buy the vanquish or the apex from garret, tanks for your hello, gretings from guanajuato méxico
Hi Arturo and thank you for the comment! Im not positive on this however I think the Vanquish is running similar to the Equinox frequencies because it is the Multi-IQ technology. Contact me through email and I can go into more detail!
@@AdventuresWithEdHuffman can you tell me you email, thanks
@@arturojassoortega7766 edhuffmanadventures@gmail.com
How is that detector compared to the Garrett AT Pro? Is the vanquish a new brand?
Thank you for the comment Stolzie! In my opinion the Vanquish is better than the AT PRO! The Vanquish runs on multiple frequencies.. the AT PRO runs on one frequency. Also the Vanquish is much faster at processing targets that the AT PRO. The Vanquish is Minelabs newest entry to mid level metal detector!
@@AdventuresWithEdHuffman, that's awesome! Is the vanquish waterproof too? The price is awesome! Thank you for the info!
@@RogueRipple Yes ... the price is awesome for this performance! The coil is waterproof but the control box is not waterproof... however it is rainproof!
@@AdventuresWithEdHuffman, thank you for taking the time to answer questions!
@@RogueRipple Anytime Stolzie!
God dam dude you talk way to much 10 min into the video then you finally show wtf you’re talking about
