As a fan of the original animated trilogy of films, I was at first hesitant when I heard that they were a making a live action adaptation of how to train your dragon but however after seeing this fantastic trailer and learning that the same director of the animated movies is making this one has given me a lot of hope for this remake. Btw Toothless looks so amazing and adorable in live action. Great reaction guys love watching your channel!
@@Ay3shizzle I know I was going to go into hating it but when I saw this trailer I’m not totally losing my mind and can’t wait for it to come out. Totally misjudged
@Ay3shizzle I was the same way, at first I was SO EXCITED when I saw the announcement, but of course I was hesitant, nervous about another soulless cash grab, but I was praying for that not to be the case. I held hope for a faithful adaptation. Then we got the pictures of the arena, and I knew that my prayers had been answered, as I could see how much care and effort was going into it. Then we got the announcement that Gerard Butler would be returning to play Stoick, then we found out that John fucking Powell was coming back for the score, AND THEN WE GOT THIS INCREDIBLE TRAILER THAT TRULY SHOWED HOW FAITHFUL IT'S GONNA BE. I'm so glad I never doubted this. Plus, IT'S COMING OUT ON MY BIRTHDAY! I'M SO EXCITED! :D
When I first saw this trailer, I was literally shocked on how good and beautiful Toothless is in live action. It’s been 15 years since the first animated movie
I feel like they made this to revive the franchise for the new theme park land their building for Epic Universe which opens a month before this comes out. It’ll help it stay relevant for years to come. The director also said it’s going to be a little different from the original.
That is definitely Gerard Butler as Stoick the Vast, Hiccup's father. He reprises his role after having previously voiced the character in the animated films and Mason Thames from the Blumhouse popular horror film Black Phone is playing Hiccup..... The most amazing news is that we going to have Emmy and Golden Globe winner actress Thandie Newton's daughter Nico Parker as Astrid. We have previous seen her in the Disney live-action remake of Dumbo and Joel daughter in The Last of Us HBO series. I think they're going to have some small or few changes to the live action film to extend the story. I heard they probably actually going to introduce a new character in the film which I don't know if it's true or not.
I'm glad Butler's back to play, well, himself in this. I'd have liked Ferguson as well, but Nick Frost will be a fine replacement. I'm not familiar with the lead, but there are some highlights in the rest of the cast.
One of the best birthday presents I could ever ask for. I'm so glad I never doubted this film. John Powell, Gerard Butler, Dean DeBlois, everything looks so good. AND MY BRO TOOTHLESS IS LOOKING AS ADORABLE AS EVER! And I'm serious, Test Drive is one of, if not, my FAVORITE pieces of music I've EVER heard in any movie I've ever watched. John Powell went IMPOSSIBLY hard for it and I'm so glad he did. After I watched the trailer today, I listened to Test Drive again, and like always, tears, goosebumps, and chills. My childhood is coming back on my birthday, and I've never been more ready!
Ok I've never been how to train your dragon but I like how they are bringing this world to life I gotta go watch the movies now. Lion King animation "it copied my entire flow word for word bar for bar“ 😅
It is different for every movie, but in this case, doing a shot by shot live action, what you need is to make it look really really good and still keep the same feel. Also, for me, the most important thing os the music. It needs to be better in some ways, very epic and charming. I’m really looking forward to seeing it.
The fact that they did toothless so good and everybody else especially hiccups he look cute and i can't wait for the official trailer of this to see who will play the blond girl forgot her name but am totally gonna see this next year
People really need to get out of their own way when it comes to going into things hesitantly. Constantly nitpicking and complaining about will it or won't it work in today's movie and TV experience has become a trope. My grandparents reminded me that animation to live action has been around since the 30's. Snow white, jungle book and Peter pan was in the 60's and people didn't nitpick it to death. They either liked it or not they didn't let it change their viewing experience of other things like that. I loved the live action lord of the rings and the animation, I loved both Peter pan's and jungle books from the 60's.
DiscussingFilm did tweet a photo of Nico Parker as Astrid. She looks great! This movie looks amazing. I like that original animated trilogy director Dean DeBlois to direct the live-action Dragon. This movie opens three weeks after live-action Lilo & Stitch which Dean co-direct the animated original. He's not involved in the Disney remake, but his co-director Chris Sanders does return to voice Stitch. Chris did co-director the first animated Dragon with Dean, but he has no involvement with the live-action movie.
@stevecalderon1985 I saw her pics to she looks perfect for Astrid but because she is of mixed race people r gonna bash her for even playing the role of Astrid which is sad cause I'm of mixed race and I would love to see myself in httyd world and fly my own dragon but because I'm not viking or born in that culture it's not a good look, when to me viking culture is awesome especially thier gods💁♀️
I trust the filmmakers on this one. It’s the same director from the animated film & he’s promised a “re-imagination” of the story. So there’s going to be differences along with all our favorite moments. I’m stoked!
Neither nore... 😅 ...it will be more like shot for shot plus additional scenes and details according to Dean De Blois. Scenes from the book series that couldn't be done in the animated movie
The actual acceptance that happens in these movies is one of the franchise's best qualities. A quality you, most unfortunately, seem to lack - with your bigoted opinions that have no good reason to be here. So, please, let people enjoy things. "Woke" is progress. The opposite of "pro" is "con", so what do you think the opposite of "progress" is? I'll give it to you, because I want to be nice: "congress". Because of people like you (MAGATs/general Trump supporters if you're not from the USA (aka do not reside here, citizen or not, native and otherwise), the United States of America will most likely become a dystopian land, if we (all of us, even you Trump-supporters) don't do something to change the nation from going backwards in history instead of forwards. I may have not been kind to you in this comment, but I was something: honest; I won't apologize for speaking the truth. That's more than I can say for most, if not all, of the Republicans in this country who only think about themselves. You probably voted for Trump because he's just like you; in other words, he only thinks for himself. Not you. Not your family. Not your friends. He does not think for the citizens of this country, not even his supporters. Trump only thinks for himself. Trump's triumph will be the downfall of *all* United States citizens, not just the democrats. In conclusion, I hope you're happy with yourself, and your vote, because any decent American is not okay with this. Have a great evening.

Knowing the DW is working on a remake says that they wont disappoint fans whether they say this is needed or not

The score to the animated trilogy was breathtaking. This live-action epic snippet is giving me chills!
I watched the trailer, just before watching your reaction. I was going, "What is this? Why am I crying???"
Hiccup was 15 years old in the first animated movie, so I think they got the actor's age right for the role.
When I first saw this trailer, I was literally shocked on how good and beautiful Toothless is in live action.
It’s been 15 years since the first animated movie
Wow!
I first heard of this from a first look image of Hiccup and Toothless. And I thought, "Well, damn, they actually didn't do Toothless dirty!"
Haha yes. Toothless looks pretty good.
Live-action Toothless looks fantastic‼️🐉🐲 They did a very good job on the design.

Technically they did show Storm Fly, Meat Lug, Hook Fang, and Barf & Belch in this trailer as well.
It was so quick. But we’ll get to see them in the official trailer for sure

I almost cried after seeing this because the trilogy of HTTYD are perfection
I dropped a tear from my eyes 🥹🥹
Very excited this movie hits theaters on my birthday June 13th!!!!!!😁😁
Ok I've never been how to train your dragon but I like how they are bringing this world to life I gotta go watch the movies now. Lion King animation "it copied my entire flow word for word bar for bar“ 😅
Woohoo how to train your Dragon live action Awesome

When i first saw the trailer, i could feel my heart cry happy tears, and cant wait to hear the score in Imax
I was crying on this trailer ngl
I heard that the live action is going to be more based on the book
Universal will remake Back to the Future, FOR SURE!
Shot for shot, word for word.

Trailer looks alright. Monsters vs Aliens live action remake???
I’m surprised people haven’t been commenting more on how spot on Hiccups voice is in the live action.
Love yalls content so much!

That's why I'm glad they had a few swerves in The Lion King.
Toothless looks perfect!
It looks so good and it’s one month after epic universe opens!
Damn talk about Epic timing pun intended lol
❤
So cute ❤
Gives me hope that this'll actually be good trying to tamper my expectations though
Love how accurate they made Toothless 😍
when i was little i was a fan of dragons, now i'm a huge fan of dragons and i can't wait for this movie 🐉🐉🐉
This actually looks GOOD!
Still hoping for a 4th
About why a shot-for-shot remake in live action COULD be a good idea - 2019's Lion King brought in $1.66 billion at the box office.
It's not just "shot-for-shot", it will have additional details and some more scenes from the books.. 😉
Would it be shot for shot or shot for shot with a few differences
Guess we'll have to see the movie to find out.
Neither nore... 😅 ...it will be more like shot for shot plus additional scenes and details according to Dean De Blois. Scenes from the book series that couldn't be done in the animated movie
There are kids that aren't even born yet that will watch this movie.
I mean it good it's really good but... why do we need this again?
Because it's not only a shot-by-shot, it will has more details and scenes from the book series...
name a movie people “needed”
@@Marius229
Is there any movie at all people "needed"?
Too similar.
As long as it's good, which it should be since the original director of the animated trilogy is directing this.
I'm not a fan of the live action remake of how to train your dragon i love the animated version of how to train your dragon
As long as they didnt add any woke bullcrap to it itl be a nice family movie
