He looks horrible in my opinion, not realistic at all. He just look like the cartoon he is in the original version, but worse, it’s making this trailer and movie feel kind of fake, I wanted cool looking dragons, just like GOT, HOTD or Smaug in The Hobbit, but instead, we have dragons that looks for children, more family friendly.

Let's not forget, Universal is opening EPIC Universe in May 2025 with an entire area dedicated to How To Train Your Dragon. It's brilliant marketing by Universal. Also....your comment on live action vs animated is spot on. I've never seen any of the movies. Now I'm interested.
I think they want to expand the world of their “How to Trainverse” and do what Disney is doing and expand their audience that may have missed the animated films when they came out. I hope the movie is good though.

A lot of my initial doubts were put to rest when I found out the original director was coming back to do it. That said, this does look like a shot by shot recreation and as a die hard fan of the animated movies I have to wonder if this movie is going to offer anything new, especially after this teaser. I hope for the best because this franchise deserves it. Toothless does look great though.

Some said its all about the money. I think well yes that industry is profit oriented. But also there are fans of animated turns into remake / live-action "genre" so this was made for us who loves the original one and cherish anything that come up with, including merchandises and... Live action 😊

They shouldn’t make the look of Toothless super different but they shouldn’t make him look exactly the same either. The design should respect and stay true to the original but not be identical. It has to ride that fine line. And the remake should follow the same rules. Thats why remakes shouldn’t be made so often. Very few are able to succeed
Only two live action animated movies I would like to see are Sword in the Stone and The Iron Giant but look a little different. This is too much like the animated movie
This looks awesome in my opinion very glad they didn't change the toothless design there's alot of promise here I think if this does a great job of balancing the familiar while introducing brand new elements I think it will be great also inregards to potentially adapting the sequels I think they should tell new stories before adapting the storylines of 2 and 3 and go the harry potter route make it last longer till at least 7 or 8 films so the story of 2 can take place in the 6th film and the story of 3 can be the basis of 7 and 8

Hiccup looks perfect toothless looks incredible the lighting the tone the music…yeah this looks like…shoot freaking Oscar worthy i know that might sound crazy.

There's already some controversy with other roles cast but I'm hoping the film turns out to be more than a cash grab by the studio.
This looks very believable that it's real. While watching the Minecraft trailer, it just doesn't seem real and feels like they are in the volume this trailer did not at all.
This has real Lion King “Why are we doing this?” energy. If they would have had more realistic looking Vikings and dragon designs maybe this would have been worth exploring. This just doesn’t make any sense to me.

Idk...I'm conflicted on this. Because i loved the animated movie and I'm down for a live action but then I ask why. This kinda feels like one of those fan films or AI films that people make. Not in quality, just in like...feel. Feels like it's not real. Like it's something someone made for UA-cam. Idk. This trailer didn't excite me at all.

It's literally the same thing. It's the same CGI dragon. The same cartoon dragon. How is it live action. The same shot for shot. Copy and paste with a sprinkle of seasoning. Why? This feels like bait from corporate execs.

I teared up seeing the teaser trailer. I really felt emotional and I cannot wait to see the next trailer and see the movie.
