Not gonna lie, the ending song (Daisy by Stereo dive foundation) is actually my favorite song. Not just favorite anime song, it's my favorite song in general
Beyond The Boundary is one of my favorites for art, animation, and story. It'll probably make you laugh and cry at different points. A real gem.

You mentioned two animes that it reminds you of - ''The Girl i Like Forgot Her Glasses'' and ''Chainsaw Man''. But Kyoukai no Kanata was before them so it gets more love from me.
Kyoukai no Kanata is one of the best anime from Kyoto Animation and is pretty underrated...by the way, the ED Daisy by Stereo Dive Foundation is one of my favorite anime songs of all time.
Everything from episode 9 through to the end of the movie is 10/10, it's very heavy on it's dark fantasy and action elements which combine perfectly with the emotional parts, such a great rollercoaster of an anime and the ED is easily my favourite anime ED and top 10 songs in general
Beyond the boundaries feels like a soul (searching) anime, is so good, has all kind of events and emotions, is a show you're always nostalgic and glad you watched

This was one of the most popular back then, it'll get eventually get buried since its been so long and it's somewhat done already. There's also the fire incident back then making KyoAni pause for a good while. Nonetheless, this and Chunibyou are the ones that will be a package that's always present whenever Kyoto Animation is the topic
@@4rch0711 it never was “one of the most popular”, what are you talking about? I’m a huge anime fan since 2012, and I don’t remember it being super popular at all or whatever. Pandora Hearts was popular, Black Butler, D. Gray-Man, Blue Exorcist, smaller anime like K Project too. But Kyoukai no Kanata never was that known
@@malkuusha idk where you live, but here in Japan it was big. It's one of the kyoani awards, reason why it was adapted. Coming from KyoAni too was another reason why it immediately caught attention.

@@malkuusha yes but anime market before the boom of streaming platforms has it opposite to what it is now. Japanese revenue far outweighs global's, some titles aren't even available outside. Highly reliant on fansubs as well.
This anime is one of the best and more underrated, the story, the pacing, lore, the music, the animation, the comedy, the emotion, the characters, how charming they are and how they are developed, and in such a reduced amount of time/episodes....
This one along Amagi Brilliant Park just englobe everything an anime needs to be perfect in their own genre inclinations. KyoAni is just something else.

This is a really great and under-rated anime id give it a 8,5 out of 10 . 10 being stuff like aot, mob psycho and vinland saga.
KYOUKAI NO KANATA is a Japanese light novel based on TORII NAGOMU.
A dark fantasy work in which beings with special abilities called "IKAISHI" fight against beings called "YOUMU" that harm humans.

Beyond The Boundary is definately an experience
Its one of those shows I think about from time to time, it just had so much special about it
Funnily enough, the only other anime and op I can think of that had that same effect on me was kyousougiga that came out in the same season
The anime started the story and then the movie gave us the end. Just by watching this it makes me want to watch it again

Edit: makes me wanna rewatch the series cuz i remember nothing besides the blood magic she wields and that one jpop song/dance they do during one of the eps, cuz i never rated it back in the day i wonder what i'd give it nowindays

One of the anime you gonna though it's gonna be some of sweet and light romance comedy anime. But it's actually having one of the most beautiful fighting scene
This anime is what you calm beauty in simplicity. Every element blends in well with the other no matter how out of the way it gets. When it hurts, you literally go ouch. When there's joy, you're happy alongside them. When there are fights, there is no cheering. Instead, there's a question. What do you fight for?
Imagine how much bigger Kyoto Animation would have been if the fire didn't happen.

it starts out seeming a bit ridiculous, but after a while you get this story about accepting who you are and that even though you may be going through a rough time, there's always someone who has it worse
also can't forget the best line in the show: fuyukai-desu

the ED song was really well loved but i forgot how hard the op animation went too
the anime itself was pretty good. it's not my favorite but i enjoyed the mix of slice of life and demon fighting

KyotoAnimation is simply the best animation studio.

TBH this show was done by Kyoani who are an amazing studio that almost always elevate the original source material.
The source they are adapting is obviously kinda mediocre in writing, and Kyoani tried to clean it up with good presentation but it has quite a bit of holes.
A lot of people love it despite it, because there is a certain sincerity in some of the character's relationships.
It does often feel like a "We have X at home" version of similar series though.
Also you assume their isn't romance just because their is magic and fighting.
It's basically an Urban Fantasy.
