I'm old enough to remember watching Neil Armstrong walk on the moon, I was 7 years old. That was a monumental achievement for mankind. It's so strange that today so many people don't even know this happened. What's more, it's arguably an even bigger milestone for mankind then the first man on the moon. But they take no notice because they're too busy watching stupid Tik Tok videos.
Bravo to Elon Musk and all you crazy Spacex folks that proved everyone wrong. You made history and we are so proud of you. Congratulations on such an amazing achievement.
As a 24 year old, I am brought to tears by this. It's sad that so many don't see this as anything special, or even know of it at all.
All the car alarms lol, amazing.
You know, in my 68 years I've seen a lot of amazing things. And this is definitely in the top ten, maybe the top 5. Not quite landing on the moon and walking around on it, seeing the shuttle and the ISS. SpaceX booster landings that paved the way and now are an almost daily occurrence just in the last 5 years. And I've seen a dozen of those. But simply WOW! Oh, Magoo, you've done it again!!!
Plus the Mars rover that descended a few years back and landed on the surface by a clever hover and drop method.
totally agree.. I'm so glad I'm able to experience this type of achievement within my life time.
Yeah, I'm 63 and have just seen a glimmer of hope that Spacex will drag the NASA dinosaur along with them to the moon and beyond in my life time. " Touch wood".😉
@@David-dl3vj -- SpaceX has certainly made me a believer.
I love how at 7:56 you can hear the Hot stage ring sonic booms as it splashes down just off the coast
I heard that too, that's what I thought it was. The hot stage ring will be on the 1st stage when it returns on future fights.
Im surprised that it makes 2 booms. Maybe the complex geometry with the venting grids does it. With the booster im guessing it's about the same as Falcon, where the grid fins make 1, the engines create another, and on falcon the body itself generates a 3rd shockwave.
@@Jaker788 There will always be at least two booms from most supersonic craft. You have the shockwave from above and the reflected shockwave from the ground closer to the craft. there is a delay between the two. You aren't hearing individual shock waves from parts of the craft as those invariably are too close together and would meld into a single shock wave since their timing would be milliseconds apart, but a shockwave that traveled an angled path to get to you will take significantly longer than one that traveled directly.
@@scythelord while normally true, I should point out that it takes 200ms for sound to travel the distance between super heavy's engines and it's grid fins
@@Jaker788 All sonic booms are double booms. You're hearing the shock waves from the leading and trailing ends of the object.
Amazing video and great job to all SpaceX employees and Engineers ❤❤
The Sonic booms were impressive. Vibrated your whole body.
Nice timing with the sonic booms! Thanks for uploading :)
Beautifully filmed. Even though I know how this ends and I’ve seen it a few dozen times now, I still hold my breath as it comes screaming in towards the tower, it seems almost impossible that it’s going to be able to slow down in time. Wonderful that on this historic occasion you had a beautiful clear day for recording it. Just stunning!
If you watch it 250 time.. sometimes it will end differently. watch closely.. ha ha
Thanks for uploading this perspective, it's great to get a look at the speed of the booster coming back in one motion, great tracking too.
This is the most comprehensive one yet... Literally every scene is synced correctly.
Two knobs had to be aligned with the arms to hold it. Amazing precision.
Nice cam work.
fantastic pictures!!! thx!
The most amazing fact is that this was recorded on a two year old consumer phone
Boeing and NASA could have pulled that off…around the year 2155.
The car alarms at the end ;D
Amazing technology. Elon Musk is my new hero. I stayed in that RV park and man was it busy!
The ducks approved 👍
How much younger than the watching public is that booster after its high-speed excursion?
Nice 👍
Thanks ✌
One day people will be on top of that thing. Epic fun
Not at landing
@@deannelson9565 Are you saying they are going to leave people stranded in space? Honestly not sure what Gs the flip burn with introduce the body to, but i think they are planning to.
@@Little908 this is a booster people won't be on the booster try to keep up it's fairly simple
Rare video which didn't cut off before the sonic boom from the hot staging ring. Funny how all gootubers talk over the obvious sounds to prevent copying but let the non obvious ones though.
Noice
lol dynamic range on iphones SUCK!
To be fair, that goes for most phones with their tiny sensors. The only thing that can save it is newer sensors that hopefully get dual gain mode for wide dynamic range, it's a fairly recent feature on some Sony sensors.
Even my old dlsr is better lol@@Jaker788
Yes. My other videos are with my DLSR lot better,. still working on stabilizing.. I do drive Uber and lyft for 10 to 14 hours a day,, and it takes a long time to work on videos. this version was quick and easy to push out.. Better ones still working on when I have time.. Also have over 17,000 48MP pictures to go though as well. Yes.. I feel very overwhelmed.
@@MarsEmbassy it's fine you did the best with what you had lol
@@blue_ish4499 Thank you. Well I have way too much more.. just no time to get to it..
Now fighting to free up hard drive space.. My NAS is full.. too many pictures.

it is crazy how easy spacex makes it look

In the FAA report from flight 4, SpaceX claimed that the splashdown of the booster was accurate to within 0.5cm, and I’m starting to believe they weren’t exaggerating.
An incredible, incredible feat of engineering.
