Jared, congratulations on your phenomenal 3D animation video on UA-cam! Your detailed explanation of SpaceX Dragon's launch, rendezvous, and docking with the ISS is truly impressive. Your animation work made the complex processes involved not only accessible but utterly captivating. I was completely taken aback by the quality and depth of the video. In fact, I found it even more fascinating than watching the real thing. The way you break down each step and visually represent it allows for a greater appreciation of the intricacies involved in such an endeavor. Your work clearly shows a great deal of talent, dedication, and understanding of the subject matter. Keep it up - I can't wait to see what you create next! P.S. Although this post was written with the help of ChatGPT, it expresses exactly how I felt when I watched this awesome video. Thank you, Jared!
Great video Jared! Just a note that once the first stage lands on the drone ship there is what is called the Octograbber which is a robot that comes out and grabs hold of the booster to keep it from moving around on the drone ship as it returns to port. However no one knows what the Octograbber looks like(at least I have yet to see any photos or videos of it)
@@JaredOwen I've been a huge SpaceX fan for a while now. And the Falcon 9 rocket as well as the Falcon Heavy rocket has become my favorite rocket. SpaceX has only added the Octograbber robot in I believe 2021 to the drone ship because the first few rockets that landed would come back into port either on their sides or completely fell off the ship due to the rough waves. So SpaceX came up with the robot to solve this problem and as I a stated unfortunately I have yet to see what this robot looks like. All I know is that on the ship once the rocket has landed one of the side compartments on the ship opens its door and the Octograbber rolls out and positions itself under the rocket and grabs hold of it to keep it from sliding around. On the live video feeds of when the ship comes back into port you can kinda see the top of it but nothing else.
NASASpaceflight has contributors in Florida who photograph the drone ships when they return to port. They get side shots and some aerial shots, have taken some good pics of the Octograbber. It's in a shielded "garage" and is powered by a heavy cable pulled behind it.
I just wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for the amazing content you create on your UA-cam channel. Your videos on 3D animation and how various things work are truly outstanding and have helped me understand complex concepts in a way that I never thought possible. As someone who has always been fascinated by science and technology, I have often struggled to grasp some of the more intricate details of how things function. But your videos have completely changed that for me. Your explanations are so clear and concise, and your use of 3D animation makes everything come to life in a way that is both engaging and informative. One of the things I love most about your channel is how you take on such a wide variety of topics. From the inner workings of famous structures to the science behind space travel, you cover such a diverse range of subjects that there is always something new and exciting to learn. What impresses me most about your work, however, is the level of detail and accuracy that you bring to each video. It's clear that you put a tremendous amount of research and effort into every project, and the end result is a truly educational and enlightening experience. So, I just wanted to say thank you for all the hard work you put into your channel, and for sharing your knowledge and expertise with the world. Your videos are truly a gift, and I can't wait to see what you come up with next!
Another great video Jared. I can only imagine the hrs it take to research, animate edit and voice over you put into these. I understand why you cant do videos daily
Very nice Jared. I might add that all manned spacecraft (including Boeing's CST-100 Starliner) except Dragon have a service module filled with expensive items like oxygen & fuel tanks, thrusters and electronics. Only the Dragon, does not have such valuable equipage destroyed upon reentry, with such equipment located in the capsule. The Dragon Trunk except for solar cells and heat-removal radiators, is nothing more than a structural element with fins to provide aerodynamic stability during an emergency abort and storage space for none-pressurized cargo. There is no thruster on the trunk, hence there is no way for the Dragon to reboost the ISS while docked. The CST-100 design has many expensive components in the disposed of service module including the four Rocketdyne RS-88 abort engines. The CST-100 can however, reboost the ISS. Another often overlooked element of the Falcon 9 is the thrust of the second stage engine. The Merlin Vacuum has a thrust of 220,500 lbf (981 kN). That is a large and powerful engine for a second stage. The Atlas V for example, is usually equipped with one RL10C 2nd stage engine, with a vacuum thrust of only 22,900 lbs (101.8 kN). To launch the CST-100 the Atlas V 2nd stage must be fitted with two RL-10s engines at significant additional expense to cover a larger range of abort parameters. The F-9/Dragon has been designed for low cost and maximum reuse. Not so much for the Starliner.
Polaris Dawn has just occurred! Amazing times indeed. I saw all the launches from C.C. between the mid 70’s until the early 90’s, the space coast was my life. NASA policy would change, cancelled contracts would devastate family and friends and it always felt so unstable. I thought we would never put man back in space in a meaningful way in my lifetime. Seeing the shuttle program cancelled without a working replacement seemed like the end of a dream. Elon Musk and SpaceX give me so much hope for the future. Truly remarkable things are starting to happen.
Thank you so much for having created an understandable and fantastic animated explanation of how the Crew Dragon Spacecraft works. It's the first time I am on your Channel, but surely not the last.

Nice work as always! Just FIY: - In your logo (0:24) you have tiny errors in the "a". - Nice Soyuz erecting animation. - It takes 2 whole hours between docking and going thru the vestibule?? Is it all the re-pressurizing? - It's a bit too late in the decade to be putting up a little picture of Musk and adding any more-positive-than-neutral words about him, sadly.
🤔 How does the SpaceX Crewdragon compare to the Boeing Stuckliner? Very well indeed. One is a space craft designed by a committee of Politicians and the other one is the Space X Crewdragon designed by well paid brilliant engineers. 😚

Your videos are just fantastic! i.e. a combination of wonderful animation with clear, measured, and perfectly paced narration.....It's like your a great teacher taking his time to answer a student's questions as clearly and completely as possible....very well done and much appreciated!
Yes you have done the best and to explain as most about the great launch pad job.
Can't imagine how much effort being put to the work of this video. Very well experienced! Thank you!
Awesome, amazing. These animations are just mind blowing and so satisfying. Thanks a lot for doing this.
I love the detail that Cargo Dragon has half the number of fins, great way to determine which is which besides the small windows.
12:59 idk, I would argue the most exciting part of a Spacex launch is the booster landing….
The landing is pretty cool too!
@@JaredOwen I mean, every rocket launches. But only one rocket lands. Great video btw! Love your stuff!
@@ryanhamstra49 The Blue Origin sub-orbital, staight up-n-down New Shepard rocket lands as well. It is WAY easier than what the Falcon 9 does. The Space Shuttle also landed, so was partially reusable.
@@steveaustin2686 ok fine. Only orbital rocket that currently lands. Happy? 😆

Very professionally done, informative and enjoyable to watch. I like your animations, Jared.
Another amazing animation! Great job! I would love to see one of Spacex Starship soon.

Gracias por el doblaje del audio hermano, realmente mereces mucho más apoyo👍

Отличная графика. Много интересных и наглядных подробностей. Спасибо!
Hands down the best channel on UA-cam! I’m just now seeing this channel for the first time and absolutely mind blowing how awesome this is.
I'm happy that I could help creating this amazing piece!
Thanks Flo - the feedback you gave was super helpful!
Excellent video as always. So excited to see Space X stuff. Can you do Starship?

This is one of THE BEST videos Ive seen. So clear and well presented. Appreciate your hardwork! Thank youu 😊
Great video Jared! Just a note that once the first stage lands on the drone ship there is what is called the Octograbber which is a robot that comes out and grabs hold of the booster to keep it from moving around on the drone ship as it returns to port. However no one knows what the Octograbber looks like(at least I have yet to see any photos or videos of it)
Ahh interesting, I figured something would have to latch it down or else it would tip over
@@JaredOwen I've been a huge SpaceX fan for a while now.
@@JaredOwen they didnt use to have the octo grabber, then one fell over on the back to port after landing
there are plenty of pics of it if you google spacex octagrabber
NASASpaceflight has contributors in Florida who photograph the drone ships when they return to port. They get side shots and some aerial shots, have taken some good pics of the Octograbber. It's in a shielded "garage" and is powered by a heavy cable pulled behind it.
As always phenomenal work! I love your content keep it up!
thank you Rafael!
I already knew 99.99% of this as I am a space nerd but I really love the animation. Keep it up bro

Great video. I hope that you will do Starliner or Orion next. Keep up the good work.
Great job, Jared! Your animations and narrations are truly awesome!
Jared, this is one of the best videos I've ever seen on UA-cam.
Great work!!!

Indeed
Which I like it
Space x is awesome
thanks, when I heard that they use it for storage I was wondering how to they get stuff out of the trunk?

Parabéns pela animação, explicação e fantástica a Space-X com toda a sua tecnologia.
Thanks a lot to this genius creater and NASA, SpaceX and the U.S. government to give us hopes to what we could become as dreamers!
Too bad we couldn’t have an international space agency, imagine what we could do!

How long does it take you to do this research? Do you get all your info from internet or do you interview a lot of people? Awesome video again!
This one took a while just for the research - I watched a lot of the SpaceX livestreams for information😀

Just FIY:
- In your logo (0:24) you have tiny errors in the "a".
In the meantime NASA and BOEING sent astronauts to the I.S.S. and left them stranded for months. 😂
