@@twincitiesaviator have you gone back up to the launch site yet to see the booster up close? I just was up there and I’m back at the airport to head home
@MatthewV1016 I had to head home same day after the launch, but I did see it from the Isla Blanca bridge. Dope that you got to see it up close afterwards!
Back in 2021 I had the incredible experience of witnessing a Falcon 9 RTLS landing. I can’t imagine what it was like to see this land in person, absolutely incredible. Absolutely beautiful footage!
Superb quality! Oh my gosh, man! Thank you for posting this. I want to know. What did it feel like? what did it sound like in person? Can you just feel the rumble in your chest?
Thank you! It felt like waves of rapid vibrations ripping through me, particularly in my chest YES because of the lung cavities. The sound was comparable to the volume of a jet at an airshow with full afterburners, but replace the sound with a crackling firework. Not loud enough to need earplugs, but enough to rattle your soul. If you have the opportunity to catch this thing go, take it.
Hey dude! Two days before the launch, my dad and I met you at the flats. You interviewed us, along with a couple of others, to gather our predictions for the catch attempt. It was a pleasure meeting you and discussing Starship. The sense of camaraderie within this community is truly remarkable! The launch was nothing short of spectacular! It not only met but exceeded all expectations. The weather conditions were pristine, the launch itself appeared flawless, and the catch was utterly mind-blowing! 🤯 The video footage you captured from Rocket Ranch/Raptor Roost is truly exceptional! The tracking and audio quality are phenomenal. I love watching the launch from different perspectives. I made sure to drop a like and subscribe. 😁👍 Our vantage point for the launch was South Padre Island, where I set up a GoPro to record our reaction. I then shared the footage on UA-cam, and to our surprise, it quickly gained traction, currently just shy of 200K views! Maybe we'll see you again at a future Starship launch!
Hey! Great to see you guys out at the flats, and no here post flight 5! Thank you very much! Just checked out your perspective and gotta say, way to go on documenting the experience!
I must have watched this 100 times now. I still can’t get my head round what they attempted!! Let alone nail it at the first attempt. Truly historic feat that I thought may be impossible. Greetings from Wales
Excellent job with the video! Really captures the excitement of this amazing event. Nice that people like you were filming so I could just enjoy witnessing it :)
If you look at 6:30 closely you can see the booster making a turn to retrograde not unlike a Falcon 9. The booster appears to be taking a similar glide profile as the F9 S1 to use as much lift as possible
I really really really wish Anthony would've live streamed it from the Ranch. I watched it on Ellie in Space's channel instead, but I'd have loved to have given Rocket Ranch the view too... Anthony is the best tho, so i forgive him....😅
Excellent footage ... Shame you feel the need to plaster your copyright notice right across the middle of the frame. Are you afraid someone is going to steal it when there are a hundred other channels publishing theirs' in the public domain ?
Thank you! I’ve had problems in the past with crappy reaction channels stealing by best content without credit. After all the money, time, and energy spent getting this footage, I’m taking no chances. The angle I have is fairly unique to be fair. Believe me, I hate the watermark just as much as you probably do.
Who is talking in kilometers?? This is the U.S.! We failed at the metric system. Most Americans don't know kilometers. Have you seen the sleed limit signs on the highways?
I’ve had problems in the past with crappy reaction channels stealing my best content. Wasn’t taking chances this time, especially with something as monumental as Starship. Believe me, I hate it just as much as you probably do.
All he did was midair capture a TWO FIFTY HUNDRED TON object traveling through it's own flaming exhaust, what's the big deal? The news told me to hate him because he doesn't support the right ideology; nevermind that he just brought space travel into common use😂
Who did that? Elon Musk did that. He's smart, right? Maybe we should listen to a really smart guy when he talks about who should be in charge of the free world. MAGA 2024.
I don't know about her, but I doubt many people hate this. This is a drop in the ocean for fuel use and is making major contribution to our technological progress as a species. It's not a contradiction to be against mindless waste and for necessary progress. This huge rocket is more efficient per tonne to orbit than several small rockets, and the booster catch we are celebrating is specifically to allow rapid re-use of the rocket which is a positive environmental development over single-use disposable rockets. And as a field, rocketry has been highly cooperative and beneficial to environmental consciousness and perspective from studying other worlds as well as the hugely important satellite data for our own planet.
imagine no people screaming and pure sound that would be amazing i understand the excitement but dang shut the heck up for the love of my EARS... Great video i wish i could see the starship launch would be a hell of a thing to witness
Yeah, nothing against him but it becomes completely pointless if the commentary is 30 seconds behind. Like why bother? IMO he should be doing a concise narration of clear points for those who aren’t familiar. Like, liftoff, rollover, hotstaging, boost back.. etc.
Really great work filming that! Loving the reactions.
Thank you NSF!
One of the better videos from a distance. SUPER audio capture, and of the zoomed in RC thrusters.
Thank you very much!
Such a monumental day. Thanks for filming it, pleasure meeting you! (I was set up in the corner next to the shipping container.)
My pleasure! Great meeting you too!
how do I sign up to be with this group for the next starship Flight? Is there a website or a number I can contact?

@MatthewV1016 tis but a flesh wound! I’m baffled they stuck it back on the mount. THAT was unexpected.

What a beautiful view of the booster returning from the Rocket Ranch outpost! Thank you for sharing!
It was absolutely wild! My pleasure!
GREAT FEAT OF ENGINEERING 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
This is some of the best amateur video i have seen so far other than from spaceX themselves.

LOL. Thanks, and you bet.
I love the person in the background screaming bloody marry lol
Whoever it was was borderline losing it 😂
Thank you for sharing! Incredible video!
That's so unbelivable. I am still amazed that it is the first catch attempt!
It really is. Same here. SpaceX tweeted that there were thousands of individual criteria that had to be satisfied before the go command could be sent.

I've been watching replays of this like it's a necessity. I'm 69 yrs old and have never seen anything like this.
First of its kind feat, soon to be the norm, just like Falcon 9 landings!

was that three drones at the end or three birds because if they were birds flying next to the booster, they were some huge birds
There were drones on the SpaceX livestream but I’m not sure if they were big enough to be visible from 3.9 miles away.
@@twincitiesaviator just asking because it sounds like someone says wait that's not a bird right as it ends

The announcer at the viewing area is reading out 30-second-delayed telemetry from the SpaceX stream, which is in Kmh.
