Please tell me how I can get it to run with the lid open. They way I do laundry, I really need the lid open when filling. Then I like to look at the wash to make sure I have enough soap and add more. Difficult to do in 10 seconds before it kicks into drain mode. And, I do not see anything in the manual about this cleaning procedure. It says check tech sheet. Why use the cleaning cycle versus the powerwash as suggested in the manual. Is there something special about the procedure in this video? Thanks. And really, how can I keep the lid open like you do?
@@cocatfan as I addressed in my other video, I’m not answering anymore questions about disabling the lid latch. there are numerous answers to this in the previous 400+ comments and frankly it’s pretty self-explanatory. The manual addresses the cleaning cycles. I would imagine the powerwash cycle is less thorough but quicker than the service manual version.
I've had this machine for a couple of weeks now and I love it! More room than my old Speed Queen and clothes come out much cleaner. I use the Mixed, Bulky, and Normal settings with the Presoak/2nd Rinse. There is plenty of water, even on the Normal setting. But I discovered that since HE detergents are meant for machines that use less water, it's necessary to use more soap since this is more like a traditional washing machine that uses lots of water.. I fill the Tide cup to 4 or 5 and that seems to work well.
I bought this exact set. I'm hoping it will provide long lasting, dependable service. I've heard some say the Speed Queen TC 5,000 series is better than the Maytag Commercial.
Hi. Thanks for this video! Can you explain the other cleaning cycle on power wash? You started explaining it but would like more details. You said to Clean it using that method about once a month.
This is such a useful feature, why is it hidden in the diagnostic mode 🤷? Thank you for sharing! How did you find out the code for it, I don't see it in the instructions???
Thanks for this info! I bought this washer about 1 year ago. When I used this function my agitator was not moving at all during the filling stage. I’m just curious about that. This is not information that I was able to find in the manual - I would love to know any additional info you have for this machine! Thanks again!
I guess it’s possible later revisions of the controller may have a different script for the cleaning cycle. They have may turned off the agitation during filling because it flings water all over the place.
@@chrisw.3077 thank you! Somehow a load of new laundry was done without removing a small piece of cardboard that was folded up in a new shirt and the cardboard disintegrated leaving pieces underneath the agitator so I was trying to figure out the best way to clear out those pieces. I attempted to remove the agitator but once I removed the bolt I panicked (as removing that bolt still left the bottom of the agitator connected) and put it back together and ran this cycle. I’m hoping that was enough. I have had 4 washers in the last 7 years - 3 of which were HE front load or top load with no agitator. Much happier with the way this washer cleans just want to make sure it lasts! Thanks again
Hi Chris my washer is just like this One. It will go through all the wash rinse and drain cycles. The agitator will not turn and it will not spin. What could be the problem
Can you tell me how much water in gallons is used for a full load & can the controller somehow be adjusted to add a little more water to a full load wash???
I just picked up this washer on 7/3/2021... That rhythmic whirling sound during the spinning cycle (you can hear it clearly @ 20:30) is caused by the draining pump not having an anti-backflow valve. I am thinking this is a major design flaw since the pump is constantly being turned on and off, pumping the same column of water being flushed back into the machine. If you take a look at pictures of the OEM pump you'll see that there is no anti backflow valve that is needed to prevent this phenomena. Looks to me like this pump was designed to be burnt out for no good reason. It'd be great to hear your comments.. Thanks.
Have you had an issues with it not spinning on the final cycle (filled up with water and just drained and it just makes a nose? Only had a 2-3 towels and it was left soaked

OK hopefully you can still see these comments. I purchased my new washer and all was going well but never finished its first cycle. Strange rattling noise like it is trying to rinse but not drawing in water. Thankful to get in to diagnostic mode but having issues getting past that noise and feel it is not doing anything. Help. I put it in diagnosis Final spin but the noise is aweful. Only had it less than an hour and issues now Im told to wait for a service call which could be weeks to a month. Please help.
I let it attempt the final spin in diagnostic and it did start adding water and both lights and lid lock came on it added water and noise continued for a few minutes and then stopped. All 3 lights still on in diag mode. Now what. It still hasnt drained and finished
It's a shame that Whirlpool has now discontinued this model and the 576. We are basically being forced off of these machines with inferior garbage to choose from now.
@@chrisw.3077 There is a closeout on the Maytag website for your model and this was also confirmed by Whirlpool on the phone to me when I called them several days ago.

Can’t really speak to the longevity, but I haven’t heard of any pump failures.
Are you adding one ounce or one cup of bleach to washer?
How do you have the lid up while washer is on
Have you had an issues with it not spinning on the final cycle (filled up with water and just drained and it just makes a nose? Only had a 2-3 towels and it was left soaked
They were soaked because you tried to wash 2-3 towels. Machine can’t balance with heavy towels unevenly distributed so it can’t spin up to full speed
Make more about this model thanks!
Where did you get the piece to override the lid lock? I need one!
Look up in the lid!!! Remove the screws. Place in lock.
A link to the tech manual as mentioned in the user manual would be nice. So far I have not found the tech manual that describes this proceedure.
It doesn’t exist online. They want techs to fix these, not the people who own them.
