    I have this washer and it’s absolutely awesome. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. It washes great and doesn’t take 2 hours to wash a load and the clothes come out clean. I had a Maytag Commercial Technology before and it was a piece of crap.

    While I do think these washing machines are somewhat close to an old school machine, NOTHING beats an old belt driven Whirlpool Kenmore, or an Original Maytag. NOTHING, those machines are bulletproof. My 1977 Lady Kenmore is still chugging along. After 46 years. Let's see if this washer will last that long. Nope it'll be dead in less than 10 years.

    I purchased this machine after seeing the video you posted a few years ago and having been through 2 HE crap machines finding that my clothes were not getting clean. (My sister also bought the same machine after I raved about its washing abilities. This machine is a work horse for sure… But, it took a bit for me to realize that it was not rinsing all the soap out very well. I never put the soap up to the line it says I always use less, so that is not the problem. I use All Free and Clear liquid soap and find that the suggested amount it definitely too much or at least that this machine does not rinse it completely out the first time. I don’t add anywhere near as much as it says can be added on the cap, so it should not be a “too much soap issue”. My sister has the same exact issue with her towels in the same machine at her house. I’m very bummed that this is the case because it is a fortune to use so much water rinsing and rinsing and rinsing.

      Were you able to figure out the soap issue? I have seen the issue sometimes on the speed queen top loader I use (usually with towels), even using a small amount of soap. I'm guessing sometimes there is just so much detergent built up in the towels you really need to do quite a few extra rinses. Also, have read somewhere that using some Calgon water softener can help the soap get rinsed out better if you have hard water. I usually use a front loader, so it's always a balancing act with just the right amount of detergent. But the calgon did seem to help with less soap residue. Also curious to know if you use the extra rinse so it does two rinses? If I used this machine I'd probably use presoak (for the enzymes to work) and extra rinse perpetually!

    • @patcola7335
      @patcola7335 9 місяців тому

      That's what the extra rinse option on the machine is for.

    Kirk. Would really like to see you test that hot water temperature again. I had spoken to Maytag about the hot water temperature 2-3 yrs ago and they did tell me it only reached I think(can't remember exactly) around 90 degrees. In any event, it was only a lukewarm temp.
    So not so sure it was a faulty hot water tank on your part.
    When u retest, can u plez check the warm settings to see if they come out any warmer and not cool? Appreciate it and all these wonderful reviews, videos!

    To the person that said “sticking with your front loader”, If you have special one that’s awesome. But I might suggest that you take it to the laundry mat and put it in a washer with No soap. You may be surprised how much soap is still in the clothes. I was shocked when I did this and that led me to selling my front loaders and switching to this machine.

      The reason why suds appears in the laundromat machines is not usually because of your home machine not rinsing. It is because of the overuse of soap in the laundromat machine stays inside it and comes back next load.

    • @Smurdle450
      @Smurdle450 Рік тому +2

      Chances are this isn't the soap left in your clothes, it's the soap left in the laundromat machine.
      I'd bet money that if you ran a laundromat machine completely empty you'd see plenty of leftover suds. People very frequently overdose detergent at a laundromat.

    Hi, I watched and liked your videos before I bought this washer a few months ago. It's got one big issue for me. Clothes with drawstrings, bra straps, etc sometimes get caught under the agitator fins because there's a gap. My cheap solution: I took some silicone drinking straws and cut them, then slide them under those gaps. It has definitely helped, but the straws come off between every load and it's always a game of "find the straws" when I transfer clothes to the dryer. Do you have any better ideas for a fix or know if Maytag or anyone had a product for a more permanent solution? Thank you.

  • @annalevel389

    Why is the agitator just spinning the clothes in one direction? An agitator is supposed to agitate the clothes back and forth for an even and thorough wash like the Kenmore 80-90 series

    • @ERMD_TWL
      @ERMD_TWL Рік тому +2

      It's a "dual action" agitator.
      Turns out that spinning the upper part in only one way helps the spiral to move the clothes from the top to the bottom of the washer so they get a better wash movement. Don't worry, that system does work and the bottom part of the agitator does always spin in both ways.

      Since my long comment disappeared.
      I there not as loud as you hear on the video .
      It's the enhanced microphone that makes it much more intense in the space your residing in .
      And a little noise is good .
      That way you know where the washer cycle is . If close near there operating positions.
      I s better then the drop and lefting that front loaders do with fabrics. And then the buckles.. zippers..buttons to name a few.
      Even with and induction model.
      That could be worse in my opinion.
      Washers should have designated sound clues as older tops in American machines had there own distinctive sounds .
      I indulge in that topic intensely.
      But way to exhausted to write it out again.
      But this not a Maytag nice hum from a classic Maytag helical drive quite . But it's also not a bad sound when doing average chores or relaxing or sleeping.
