  • Katie's Battle with Xanax and Alcohol | True Stories of Addiction | Detox To Rehab
    At the age of 12, Katie explored alcohol and began to make friends with the wrong crowd. When she got a hold of Xanax and alcohol, she began to black out when she mixed the two. Having the strength to ask her family for help gave her the chance for a better life than just pills and booze. Katie got into a treatment facility named A Better Today Recovery Services with the help of her parents. There she learned things about herself and began to work a program that guided her to a happy life in recovery.

      Yes are you joking? its all in your mindset. Most people trying to "recover" are just pussy ass bitches that havent took notice to the real world yet.
      Like I used to be addicted to heroin, I started on Oxy for my back because I have Cerebral Palsy that effects my whole left side. But then i was doing dope all day every day and made up excuses why but really it was just because i wanted to get high to numb the pain both mental and Physical quit making excuses and just do it. No one is forcing you to be sober.

      Eggy Bush she's trying not to cry it seems like. When I quit xanax it gave me mental withdrawals for well over a year, suppressing my anxiety with xanax just gave me much worse anxiety once I got clean, I was an emotional and anxiety filled wreck for a year and a half. But it's been almost 4 years now for me and I'm happy to say my brain is mostly recovered, although I still don't remember much from that time. It's a god awful drug to abuse,

    Xanax withdrawal is really bad, yes and combining it with alcohol will most likely cause black outs. I remember a few years back I was committed to a psych ward as a result of my drug use. They just suddenly switched me from xanax to valium and even though valium is a benzo it was still terrible! I had a really rude awakening yesterday evening. I am going on two months off of alcohol and crack cocaine, I'm still working on benzos, I'm doing a taper very slowly. Anyhow, I was offered crack cocaine yesterday evening and without even giving anything a thought I jumped out of my bed and started to prepare myself to use! What a rude awakening indeed! The other person was joking, they had no drugs, they were just joking around, thank u GOD! In my mind I had already relapsed on crack, it makes me stronger. I thank GOD that that incident took place. I don't know what the other person's intention was but it sure has helped me. I need to never forget that " I am a sick person!" I need to take my recovery very seriously and stop joking around, most of us are just big kids that have never grown up. Well, I need to grow up and realize how sick I am! Keep up the good work!

      I'm really glad for you!
      My drug story is stupid af. I was bad injured (I'm a professional ballet dancer), and after few surgeries, my recovery was looong and painful, even on prescribed painkillers. AKA opioids. It was hell, although my dr. tapered me slowly. It really was a pure hell, which I wouldn't want to anyone. Since I really don't have any enemies, I can't tell "I don't wish to my worst enemy" ... I just don't wish it to anyone. In some moments, I thought I will definitely lose my mind. I would never put that crap in my body again.
      Stay safe! :)

    I am not sure if I heard this substance before (xanax), However, this story is very common. I said a while back that where I am from some drivers takes substances to stay awake. Not saying that its xanax but still. The support system always plays a huge role in these and it shows.

    My second grand mal seizure from going cold turkey off the xans happened just like the first. 3 days after stopping it hit without warning, although this time I was driving delivering pizza. Seized behind the wheel, blacked out, and came to in the ambulance. Luckily I had just turned into a neighborhood and went straight up over someones front lawn and crashed into their brick wall/planter. Do not cold turkey off of benzodiazepines- you can die.

    • @chadhiggins9944
      @chadhiggins9944 Рік тому

      Wow that's wild! I'm glad you are okay! I had my second one when I was riding my bike in NYC. The exact same thing, no warning of it coming on and I woke up in an ambulance. I remember asking the EMT over and over, "wait, I had a seizure?" And just the way he said "yes" to me every time I asked, I'll remember for the rest of my life. I've never found another person with the similar "waking up in an ambulance" after a seizure until you. Luckily, I've been able to stay away from Xanax for the most part but there was one time where I got a few pills but what was weird is only after doing it for like 2 days and stopping, my brain went haywire from it. Almost like it remembered what I had done to it before. Very odd. Luckily, I didn't have another seizure but I did have withdrawals symptoms after like 2 days. Which shouldn't seem possible but it really did happen. How are you doing with it?

    as long as xanax and other benzos are used moderately, i think there is absolutely no problem. if it makes your life better, use it wisely. just don't overdue it. switch off with other safer alternatives like nootropics or herbal stuff... like kava complex, etc

    I use to be an alcoholic really bad where I almost died on time! So that made me stop drinking completely I been a pot head for 5 years and also got addicted to meth for 2 years. So when it came to trying Xanax for the first time I thought I was the biggest and the baddest when it came to drugs and I popped 3 yellow 2mg pills thinking i needed a lot. NOPE I BLACKED OUT SO HARD it took me an hour to find where I hid my stash and I literally blacked out right when it kicked in and I was up for 6 hours and remembered NONE of it I could have killed someone or myself in a freak accident. I still did Xanax after that day because they are amazing BUT BE CAREFUL IF YOU DO!!! I only do it once ever LONG while and I don’t get addicted or get withdrawals same with meth alcohol and weed I learned to balance my life an my drugs to COMPLETELY avoid addicted to any drug because then it ruins the experiences and potentially YOUR LIFE
