The school can call the parents.
The school can punish the kid, but also the parents can punish the kid.
The school could have used detention, as a form of punishment.
The parents can put the kid in a timeout.
The school calling the police is just ridiculous, considering the kid is small, even with bad behavior it's uncalled for.
It's not like the kid is a grade 7 or 8 size.

It's unfortunate that this happened but I think it will become more frequent. How did the little girl behave at home, what rules and consequences did she have? Many parents are trying to be their children's friends, not giving them guidance and limits they need. This leaves the schools having to deal with unruly kids, the schools have limited recourse of handling incidents like this. The police get involved then. Maybe this will teach the child that there are consequences to her actions and help her grow into a productive, non entitled adult. Yes, it could have been handled better, but what is the limit schools have to put up with this? If I did this growing up I would have been standing face in the corner at the front of the classroom. It certainly helped you remember to behave better.

I recently moved to my mother's, my father gave up on me and didn't want me, child protection made me move. I went along with it, I've had a tough two years. And my mother was trying to get used to me, I'm 15 turning 16. I'm a normal teenage boy that wants to learn and be a police officer. I play video games, I sit in my room and friends are a thing of my past. My mum starting fighting with me because I was stressing out and needed space. I told my mother to leave me alone for a bit, she didn't listen. She wanted me to go to my stepdads, I've never felt safe there, after my past with him. Later that day my mum tried to press charges against me for being "abusive". The abusive act was telling my mother to f*** off. The next day, it was fine until my stepdad tried to argue with me and so my mother followed along. I went to go calm myself off, oh- and my mother used child protection as a threat to scare me, it worked for some time. I walked myself down to McDonald's to enjoy myself a double McChicken. On my way home, two police cars drove by, on my mind it was suspicious. One patty wagon drove around the block and stop in front of me, I knew they were looking for me. They asked me what's happening with things, and told me they charge and arrest me for being a (normal teenage boy) abusive person. They locked me up in the back of the car and drove me home. We arrived home and my mother, stepdad and police tried telling me I need to change my ways. I sat there wondering why my life failed me and wasn't on my side. I had a bad attitude after what happened I walked away from the police officers and said "I'm not having this anymore" I'm now scared of my safety with the heroes of our country. I'm now turning 16 and will hopefully move out soon and continue my schooling. Thank you for reading
