Given a $100,000 CAD, I will use that to not buy any other box as I already own one. 2011 Nissan XTerra Pro-4X, will use that $100K CAD to make an already capable off-road vehicle even more capable and last a lot longer.
I can personally speak for the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon & Gladiator Rubicon, defender (2023 P400), GX 460, and now the new land Land Cruiser… It’s all luck of the draw, our Jeeps were sold due to reliability issues, the Land Rover defender was sold due to reliability issues, my GX 460 is doing fantastic, and we recently sold a BMW X5 to try the new 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser (Prado LC 250). For the LC 250, so far so good. The biggest complaint for the last generation of Toyota Tacoma’s and four runners, was the inherently underpowered engines and low torque, they did address this with the new LC 250. While the engine itself maybe somewhat confusing, the goal was achieved. However, this is not the rocket my P400 defender was, but it does get better gas mileage and is a fun vehicle to drive, yet the towing kind of sucks. The question was, if you had $100,000 what would you buy? I’ve done every one of the ones mentioned, and it comes down to preference, the Jeep is subpar in every capacity outside of the modifications and ability to hard-core rock climb. The defender has a ton of room, but is so tech heavy that it made it a nightmare every time it glitched. We drove the GX 550, but it was not Better than the GX 460 that I currently have so it was not even on the table. That leaves us with the Land Cruiser, right now for the price…It’s the only one that fits the bill. What about the bronco? Yeah, we drove that early on and then again right before purchasing the Land Cruiser, its a piece of shit. If you are comparing bronco versus anything, I highly advise driving anything and making the true comparison. It’s horrible.
I’m in Uk and waiting for my First Edition to be delivered early November. Mine will have an extra row of seats. That’s why all the bits are in place but no seats supplied to Canada/USA as I’m sure they not going to make two shells.
Look, its expensive af, and its a four cilinder but i still like the looks a lot, so i would def take it over a wrangler or a bronco, weekdays with comfort, weekends with fun.
It’s the TOYOTA LANDCRUISER PRADO. The OG brand new Toyota Landcruiser (300 series) is so much different, larger, and longer and has a twin turbo V6. Too bad you don’t get it in North America. That is why your Landcruiser (PRADO) is smaller because it is not the descendant of the 200 series.
I wanted to get this instead of the Mazda CX-50.... but I'm kind of glad I chose the CX-50 now. For that price I thought we'd get a 3rd row and a bit more storage capability. For 50-60k, I don't see it. Almost all of it's competition is cheaper, which means it's going purely off the Toyota name. For true off road enthusiasts that want a SUV I don't see how this gets chosen over the Bronco or Jeep, unless you're Toyota faithful.
People are nuts. Yes, this is expensive for a glorified 4Runner, but stop with the missing LC 200 nonsense. No one bought that here in the US, and the Lexus version is still available. Its like the poors shouting about how the rich now have regular American Wagyu in addition to Japanese Wagyu. Doesnt affect them
How’s is 23 mpg bad? Show me another solid axle BOF suv that gets better than that. The Jeep 4xe is the only other suv that’s probably better but it catches fire and is an absolute pile of garbage so you have to deal with that.
@@c1aytonbigsby These trucks are not getting those numbers. One of the big complaints of owners. People are reporting on the average 15-19 mpg. The efficiency is also negated by the premium gas requirement just to get these less than advertised numbers. Also, this Land Crusier is not a solid front axle truck.
@@chaseme9860 where are you reading that? In the Facebook group I’m in I’m consistently seeing 22-25MPG from people. The ones who aren’t getting that mileage barely got their vehicle and haven’t even surpassed 1K miles on em. I agree the premium gas is a negative though. And also I never said it had a solid front axle. That solid rear axle is still a lot heavier than most other BOF suvs which are mostly independent front and rear nowadays. Bronco wrangler and Land Cruiser (in that size group) are the only ones in the US with at least one solid axle and the LC gets much better gas mileage than the other 2.
@@c1aytonbigsby 22-25 on "highway" IS NOT the combined number. Bronco, Jeep, Land Cruiser... have never had IRS, so its a moot point. When 4x4 people talk about solid axles, they are undoublty referring to the front axle unless they state otherwise.
Very lazy of you not too provide more context to your viewers about Landcruiser in Canada. Saying last Landcruiser was expensive is irrelevant in this case as the Landcruiser has not been sold here for 35 years before this new model.
You were just given $100,000, which BOX are you buying? Bronco, Element, Wrangler, Land Cruiser, GX550 or Defender?
Defender

Rivian R1S tbh, but given that isn’t an option I’ll go with GX550. Great review as usual!
The cup holders and usb c ports in the trunk might be for people that like to sit in the back to watch a sunset or car camp? What a lovely box!
Believe it's because it's sold as a 3 row in other countries. So they just didn't change it.
@@ACCELER8TVand it’s rightfully called a PRADO in other countries because the LANDCRUISER 300 has 3 rows, a twin turbo V6 engine among other things.
This is the best review I've seen in months!!!!!!!!!!!! Very good job.
thank you!!
For the the rest of the world, this is what we call the Prado. The Landcruiser is the rectangular lights one.
It’s not “lost a v8” or been “shrunk down” to lose size.
It’s a redesigned Prado, not a mini LC 200/300.
In the America it's replacing the 300 series hence the name LandCruiser. Elsewhere it's the new gen Prado
Awesome video as always🫡
Thank you!!

Finally you did the review on land cruiser 😎
Fantastic Review!! (as always) I really like the TLC!

Nice car !
Welcome back. I thought you left.
the best Review
Pero esta es la versión de la Land cruiser prado, no es la versión de la land cruiser 300!
I love this ❤

I waited for thisssss❤❤😭
Bro isnt letting his hair go 😭
The huge question is…how much weight can you put on top of the hybrid battery? Is it 132 lbs..if so this is poor
Lol😂 tires commercial!!
Yaeh....you only 719 subs away from a million.......btw jokes apart your content is top notch...

Thank you though, we appreciate that!

Not so much larger, the difference in size is about 5% or less

@@willneverstop It was the first 1000 in Germany, for the first edition... hardly a statistic that proves anything.
@@hoopandhands3328 you don't have to get the firs edition...the '58 and Land Cruisers are much more affordable
Is this 1998?
Land.cruiser younger brother, toyota branding LC is like very complicated and confusing.
Yikes that price, WTF. Hey Mike, boomer here and yes, I had a house and a manual Land Cruiser while in my 20"s 😘😘
Nehh..Maybe the new Armada/ Patrol
180 000 dollars in finland. Yeah!
Yeah, I feel your pain.
Basically price like for Mercedes G Class 😅
Prado
👍👍👍
Ugh, my fav car reviewers just gave a ‘meh’ to a vehicle we bought a month ago. Tough to take
all of these offroad features that will never, ever, ever be used by anyone who buys this car
first non bot comment, BEAUTIFUL car

In Bangladesh people buy's land cruiser for 300k us dollar
Why the tow hook cover looks like a full diaper 😂
4 cylinder with terrible gas mileage. Hard plastic interior for that price? Overpriced garbage.
The interiors aren’t bad at all lol…go check one out. And the 4cylinder to tuff. 465 pound feet of torque. Cmon that’s not bad

It's not a real land cruiser as it was in the USA and middle East. It's a Prado, an 100 series, not a 200.
This a prado here in Africa
Yup
4 cyl for a heavy big SUV - big mistake . I hope Toyota change it in future. Small turbo engines will blow up faster .

Poorman’s G-wagon
Very cool exterior, but it's a kind of boring interior.
Boring interiors are ones with just a tablet in it (IMO). Here we finally have buttons! Real functionality buttons to click 😃
@lukolordpl8438 I actually agree with that, more buttoms.
I am referring to what looks like cheap plastic interior materials.
I bunch of suckers will plop their money down for this overpriced bloated pig.
New Toyota and Lexus is junk
