    Not sure I’d call it a component bowl but I love a clean out the fridge salad. Cabbage, spinach, lettuce, onion, carrots, celery, steamed broccoli & cauliflower and potatoes (steamed, boiled, air fried or whatever) with a dressing that catches my fancy, tahini & lemon, balsamic with mustard, maple and nutritional yeast or even a mix of lemon & raspberry balsamic vinegars. So many possibilities!
    Thank you for sharing

    Favorite salad topping...crispy chickpeas! I try to have a bunch of chickpeas cooked up for smashed chickpea salad or hummus, but then I always save a bit to pop in the air fryer, sprinkle with salt and garlic, and toast up while chopping veg. They are addictive!

      Maybe too many at once? A thin layer is better. And I pull the tray out and toss them a bit half way through.

    I go through phases with salads. At the moment I am addicted to my "tower of deliciousness"!
    1st layer romaine lettuce
    2nd layer coleslaw out of a bag
    3rd layer diced cucumber and peppers
    4th layer 1 orange diced
    5th layer 1 Tbsp Kimchi
    6th layer sprouted mungbeans
    Drizzle of tahini.
    Mix all and dig in!
    He kai tino reka 🌿💚🌿

    I eat a massive salad everyday for lunch.. they're usually the same everyday because I never get sick of It... on the weekends I add a fee rice stuff grape leaves, olives and croutons.. but during the week I skip those. Costco has amazing roasted edamame that I use all week.

    OMG, all your food looks so good!!! I’m getting into eating more like this but my son doesn’t like it. He will eat it if that’s what’s for dinner, but he doesn’t like it. I’m experimenting with sauces and dressings because I don’t like ANY! My go to is either soy sauce, or the only kind of dressing I like. I do pretty good with eating veggies (trying to do more) but my downfal is desserts and sugar😕. I e watched some of your videos and really like them!! I’ve got some great ideas from you! Thanks.

    I never ever considered or even thought you could freeze rice! I am making a batch today and freezing in half cup patties. Great idea! Hope you had a fantastic trip!

      I love freezing rice! I usually add a splash of water when reheating and cover the pot with a lid to help steam it. If you’re using a microwave maybe a tiny few drops of water and a damp paper towel 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @lydiawilliams471
      @lydiawilliams471 7 місяців тому +1

      @@mastandstars5869 yes! I reheat cold rice with a little splash of water and paper towel and it's like freshly made. But I would think freezing it would dry it out? I have 10 quarter cup portions of rice freezing to try this and I'm so glad to have the convenience . I'll put them in zip lock bags tomorrow and heat them up when I want!

    I love your meal prep. My life is busy (single mom, working full time, lots of extra activities) and I am trying to do more like what you are doing, cook the foods when I have time. I love your fridge organization! Would you do a video explaining that? I think clear containers would be super helpful for me. I am working very hard to avoid food waste. I'm dealing with a lot of food allergies and am on a very limited diet, bowls work for me because then I just meal prep the foods I can eat and combine them. Breakfast is my hardest meal (no oats, wheat, soy, dairy or corn plus low sugar and low oil because I am trying to lose 40+ lbs) so I meal prepped cooked quinoa with some fruit that I can have, made 4 servings of that yesterday. With those restrictions there are not a lot of breakfast choices! Thank you! Also a kitchen tour video would be great, your favorite appliances, how you store things... :)

    Great video. A mega salad bowl I make here in the UK: baby gem lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber (sorry!), radishes, sauerkraut, roasted red peppers from a jar, pimento stuffed green olives, avocado, sunflower seeds, salad dressing, tofu.

    Great video! What is the 3rd veggie that you were roasting along with the potatoes? The other pan included carrots, parsnips and potatoes. I live in the US and recognize everything you're including, but I feel like you named one veggie that I didn't recognize...

    It pains me slightly to hear how expensive cucumbers are for you right now, meanwhile I have a legit Cucumber Problem in my home garden. I wish I could magic some cucumbers over to you, we are overrun with them! Oh, and sushi bowls are our favorite too. :)

    Chelsea, was wondering do u worry about how much protein u eat in a day? My family is all about loading up on protein and I've always felt like alot of protein causes inflammation. Just curious about your thoughts on it. Also love your videos.❤

    • @calligoblue8436
      @calligoblue8436 7 місяців тому +3

      I think that only goes for non-plant proteins like meat & dairy. Plant proteins actually reduce inflammation.
