Thanks Guy, I love your content as I'm having this discussion on probiotics (non-needed) versus prebiotics (beneficial) with my friends and family. Heading over to your website to learn more.
Just a tip to Guy: on many of your slides the figures from studies are not at sufficient resolution. Even at full screen and 1080 pixel resolution, I still have problems reading the Figure 3 from the study between 1:55 and 3:00
Thank you for the information as always, Guy! I am taking notes of your videos to remember everything. I have one question: in SIBO if at the beginning inulin causes a lot of gas, but the rest of prebiotics don't, would it be advisable to wait a bit to add the inulin? Maybe it is feeding the bad guys in the upper gi tract but after several weeks with the other prebiotics, that hopefully can change significantly the context and ph without the inulin, the inulin can be added without causing those symptoms. Does this make sense?
Which makes sense. It's kind of similar to white sugar vs fruit. One is a sudden supply, the other is more gradual. But there are other considerations as well to take into account. Feel free to schedule a consult with me at Themicrobiomeexpert.com
Inulin killed me, same as ginger. Worsened my malabsorbtion and had to have iron infusion and blood transfusion. Crohns, colitis, bowel surgeries, Gerd, osteoporosis, fibromyalgea, motility and digestion issues with foods and inability to gain weight, with sibo/sifo symptoms ruin my life
12:20 which issues happen if you only use one prebiotic? some functional medicine specialistis say recommend only acacia fiber as single prebiotic. resistant starch can lead to explosion of bad bacteria. do you agree?
Many studies show no success and a reduction in HEALTHY diversity (alpha diversity is stupid) when using just one prebiotic. And at lower doses you can just feed the bad actors since a number of them possess the enzymatic machinery to ferment various prebiotics. I talk about this often. See my video on pH or my first slide from Pectin, etc. This is why my protocols are different. I always mention properly combining and dosing prebiotics to meet the needs of the individual.
Now I understand why insulin doesn't work for me...I ferment sugars... So what type of inulin or others do you recognize? Thank you for your presentation!
I am wondering about Uric acid and Inulin since I am a gout sufferer after hearing this presentation I have learned elsewhere the connection between fructose and Uric acid however hope the inulin I take in my shake is doing me good on another level in the long run but should I I just eat my onions and garlic ?❤
as the microbiome is corrected, through my protocols, the metabolites such as uric acid, p-cresol, etc tend to get rectified. There is good data for this, and I'm planning on a presentation in 2025 on this very topic.
@@TheMicrobiomeExpert thank you I like what you write and I have had the feeling my Uric acid problem has root cause in my microbiom since I have had this problem for years but slowly getting better with your Protocol 🙏
It's more complicated than that, and some people don't react great to inulin. I always pair prebiotics with 2-4 others. I recommend you consider getting my autoimmune protocol or schedule a consultation with me.
Insulin supplementation usually comes from a few sources, but no asparagus. Inulin is inulin. So don't worry about buying a certain type. Don't forget to like and subscribe.
I don't pay much attention to mouse studies. far too many differences. if this were the case, you'd have to stop eating onions and asparagus - two high inulin foods which are very healthy. makes no sense. don't get lost in the weeds
The vast majority have diarrhea, so no, inulin is not in my Crohn´s protocol, which you can find on my website. It works very well, I know, because I have Crohn's. Over 20 years later, no drugs, no surgery. I`ll be launching my presentation on Crohn`s in about 10 days.
Every body makes its microbiome depends what it eat. Carnivores have their gut biome, vegetarians have their gut microbiome. For human beings, there is no need of search supplements as the supplement companies says. The present youtuber is also a seller of supplements.
I don`t sell supplements. I recommend prebiotic supplements. People are welcome to buy inulin from whatever source they want. I make nothing off of that. And for those with dysbiosis, significant shift needs to be driven in their microbiome, and often, diet is not enough, especially after multiple rounds of antibiotics. Maybe you could improve your infinite wisdom by watching more of my videos. And don`t lie about me again.
Another inconsequential message - you 'COULDN'T care less' not 'COULD care less' that makes zero sense. Wishing you good gut health 😊 TheMicrobiomeExpert
I've heard many dissertations on SIBO, IBS, etc and this is, by far, the most in-depth.
thanks. I'll be launching a SIBO presentation soon
You should get millions followers amazing analysis

thanks for your comment. noted
which prebiotics u recommended for sibo?
Nowhere else have I ever heard the point about the speed of fermentation.
hope it helps
What are your thoughts on inulin supplements for a healthy person who doesn’t eat enough fiber?
Thanks for your time 🙏
I don't recommend one prebiotic. Additionally, inulin is a little tricky in some. You can try my healthy aging protocol. Themicrobiomeexpert.com
You should do a program with sabine hazan it would be very interesting
thanks for your input. Feel free to let friends and family know about my channel.

Thank you very informative
You're welcome. Please help spread the word as my platform is new.
What are thoughts on partially hydrolyzed guar gum (PHGG)? Thanks
I will launch a presentation on PHGG in the future.
I get no issues with garlic onions or asparagus, but inulin in supplements blows me up!

Great video thanks _ recently Nick Norwitz did a great video in which he explains how Inulin is beneficial as a GLP-1 inhibitor
A GLP-1 inhibitor?
Aribogalactin or inulin?
Now I understand why insulin doesn't work for me...I ferment sugars...
So what type of inulin or others do you recognize?
Thank you for your presentation!
you can visit my website, and get a protocol suited to your needs.
Sorry , autocorrect..
Inulin.
What about Acacia Fiber?
It's a good source of arabinogalactan, just like larch. It has its uses. I'll launch a video on it next year.

What do you think of larch arabinogalactan as a prebiotic?
Good question. I got this one a couple weeks ago. I think I'll do a presentation on it, but not until next year.
Planning on giving my toddler inulin to cure eczema. Thoughts?

What source of insulin do you reference. J artichoke? Chicory ? Asparagus? Combo??

What is your take on Methylsulfonylmethane? I am seeing more data how it is anti cancer in the colon.
if you have colorectal cancer concerns, then I recommend that video of mine.
Sir please tell should i eat l ruteria yogut for ibd ??
NO dairy for IBD
Should you avoid eating inulin rich foods while following your prebiotic regimen for IBS with constipation?
not at all, in fact I recommend it
@@derekcarver1 I am doing it 👍
what about studies showing refined inulin can cause liver damage and cancer ( at least in mice)?

Sir please make video on how to kill bad bacteria from gut
That's basically all of my videos
Dude sounds like he wants to fight when no one cares about this
