Elliot, you are Godsent; after learning about "Thiamine" watching your videos, I've started using Benfotiamine---and you know what? 10 years of my battle with Acid Reflux, Digestive disorders, lethargy, Low stomach acid, brain fog, severe Sinusitis, etc......etc.... just disappeared. Keep up the good work brother. May God bless you. I am planning to advance to TTFD from Thiamax
@@jennybadl7840 Along with B-complex and Magnesium Glycinate - 200 mg--I take Benfotiamine 150 mg after breakfast and 150 mg after lunch. I am planning to up the dosage to 250 mg + 250 mg
I just want to say how grateful I am to you for doing this video. I was diagnosed with SIBO three years ago. I was going through moments of depression, high anxiety, tiredness, brain fog, loss of balance, and constipation. I was looking through UA-cam desperately looking for a way to heal myself. That's when I found your video! I have been taking B-1 for three weeks now and wow what a difference! Thank you so much, you have given me my life back!
@@sejalfirodia1729 Hi I take 300mg of Benfotiamine and 100mg of TTFD daily. I also removed from my diet garlic and onions because I noticed these items were causing problems with my digestion. I also follow the FODMAP diet and walk for 30 minutes 3 times a day. Hope this helps you.
I am so glad I found your channel. I have dealt with SIBO symptoms since childhood. As a child, my mom took me to doctors for fatigue and extreme hunger issues, weight gain, weird pains. She thought I had thyroid problems. Doctors never found anything wrong and said I just needed to lose weight. I complained of gut issues to doctors as an adult and was told I had IBS. I was prescribed meds to make my bowels move and would have debilitating diarrhea from them. Then in my late 20’s I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. Lots of meds given, infusions, vitamins etc. After that was cleared up, I thought I had a gluten allergy because every time I ate gluten I would have huge gut issues and a reemergence of my fibromyalgia symptoms. The last several years, I’ve had nerve pains and chronic inflammation. I saw another of your videos about Thiamine and immediately ordered Benfotiamine and TTFD. I’m taking 900 mg Benfotiamine and 150 mg of the TTFD. It’s miraculous how much better I’m feeling. I’m having regular bowel movements for the first time in my life. My inflammation is so much better. The weird nerve pains in my shoulders and legs have almost gone entirely. The tingling sensation on my back that drives me crazy is rare now. My bloating has improved, gas issues decreased. I have energy for the first time in years. My appetite has deceased. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. I am going to increase my dose of each again to 4 tablets of each instead of 3 per day and see if I can everything to go away entirely. I feel like this must have been the missing link my whole life. Also, I have been able to eat gluten with zero symptoms, so the gluten sensitivity must have just been because of my other gut issues. I am telling all of my friends about Thiamine and am sending them to your channel. 😘
Can you please describe your weird nerve pains a little bit more, the tingling on your back too? Does it feel like your sprouting wings or light pressure feeling?
@@paulalittle5824 it feels like the tag of your shirt scratching your back all day until you are so irritated you have to rip your clothes off. That’s the best I can do. Not pain. Light tingling in a small area. If it was anywhere near my shirt tag I would ascribe it to that. But it’s on my shoulder blade. It’s just maddening. Chinese water torture.
@@lizzyjeanne It could be stress related. In my case folic acid caused such sensations and muscle twitching. I'm glad your stomach acid improved with thiamine! I must try that too as I was recently diagnosed for SIBO
I started the Benfotiame B1 Magnesium Spirulina & Potassium and my digestive problems are leaving & chronic vatigue and stomach pain has been leaving - I have had this problem for around seven years & my primary care physician said I was fine just low in B1 but he never told me the lack of B1 was the source of my chronic pain because he has no idea. U are an amazing doctor helping to heal so many suffering people.
More than 20 years of agonizing gut history which converted to dizziness and tens of other diseases Elliot talked about DISAPPEARED after taking thiamin for 1 week. Following his protocol which includes B complex and magnesium/potassium and I cannot tell you how grateful I am to find this guy. I mean OMG !!! No practitioner could identify this and I have suffered a lottttttt. From IBS C to brain fog to lethargy to vertigo to anxiety to what not. I don't remember when I felt this good or you can say "NORMAL". Thank you so much for this !
Amazing! My father suffered from many of the symptoms in this video and I wonder if he actually had a B1 deficiency after watching numerous videos on the topic. He was on 10 meds, which we managed to reduce to 5. And he had issues with his vagus nerve which I only found out after years of helping him. We need more comprehensive heatlh care, IMO.
@@thisorthat7626 I've BEEN taking B1/benfotiamine and still have my issues (leakygut-ibs) - the only thing it might be is that I need to take alot more? I don't know if this will cure people's issues but it's important & good to take it
Omg thank you I suffered with this for 11 years thank you so much after my coma in 2016 I stated taking b1 benfotiamine for nerve pain in my feet and wow clearing up my IBS that the doctors for 11 years have had me in circle i really hate our standard medical care 11 years = to 4,015 days of feeling uneasy and it was vitamin B1 the whole time
I’m not the OP but this saved my life. Literally. Because it turns out I had a severe B1 deficiency and I was dying. If my body didn’t quit, my mood was so low that I would have quit for it… Severe B1 deficiency (or beriberi) will kill you. So I’m thinking the OP might have been referring to this? A simple B1 supplement has ended nearly four years of chronic suffering for me.
I had developed fibromyalgia and IBS many years. Lately, GERD too. Thank you for talking about thiamine. Now, I understand its role. I have periods of remissions and bad periods. I just realized that when I am consistently taking my Vitamins ( B1 included) the pains subsided . Now, I am taking it more seriously. The GERD started to subside, body pains subsided and brain fog lifted. Thanks for discussing initial side effects too. I slept out of fatigue, the 1st day I took it again. I also added Berberine. Thank you again.
@IreneMa I had fibro since 2005, and about 11 years ago I prayed desperate for answers as the many doctors I’d had were no help. I believe Abba God answered by sending me several people within a week’s time to randomly mention “candida” to me. I started working in that in a variety of ways and I believe it’s contributed to improving health among adding magnesium, iodine and Vit d plus spending more time in prayer, worship and the Bible in God’s presence. May you continue to find answers and increase in health.
Another symptom of SIBO may be histamine intolerance (as it was for me) because the bacteria in the small intestine are often histamine-producing bacteria. In my case, the combination of the histamine produced in the small intestine, plus histamine that occurs naturally in foods, and the histamine that the body itself produces overwhelmed my body's histamine-metabolizing ability. I cured it by adopting a keto/carnivore diet and taking HCl, and bile enzymes. Now I'm fine. I do, also, take a B-complex supplement. Hope this helps someone.
That is interesting. This video caught my attention because my mother has so many of these issues. She has gone on a FODMAP diet that helps to some extent. But she ends limiting so much that she eats. Mostly, she'll eat the same few foods all the time: gluten-free crackers with cheese and rice puffs with peanut butter. Not exactly nutrient-density of any sort. And rice can potentially be high in heavy metals. Anyway, considering your comment, some of her SIBO issues might be with food are histamine intolerance. It would be nice to sort it all out, as she has struggled with this for many decades.
By the way, an animal-based diet (particularly if nose-to-tail) is definitely going to provide all of the B vitamins and other essential nutrients needed. It might be helpful to ensure enough organ meats or else take desiccated organ meat supplements. That is what I do, a combination of the two, along with bone broth and plenty of animal fat.
Two important things I should add: 1) since meat contains histamine, especially meat that has been sitting in the fridge for a few days before it's cooked, I took DAO capsules (diamineoxydase) to handle the histamine in my food while I was trying to heal myself. 2) The extra HCl and bile salts not only killed off my SIBO, they disturbed my normal gut flora too (I got the trots); adding full-fat Greek yogurt (no fruit or sugar) to my diet for a few days straightened out that problem so that now I'm ok and can eat what I want--even chocolate which usdd to bring on a severe histamine response. [Be very aware that, though DAO caps will handle the histamine in your food, they will not be helpful against the histamine that your own body releases. For example, chocolate and red wine cause a strong histamine-release and DAO caps are not helpful so be aware and do your research. There are websites out there that are dedicated to helping people with histamine issues.
@@joanblack6672 - Fresh meat and fish is low in histamines. You can solve that problem by buying fresh meat directly from the butcher. There are also services that will ship fresh meat and fish that is immediately flash frozen. Besides avoiding meat that is aged or been sitting at the store, including processed meat, don't slow cook meat or eat leftover meat from previous days and don't eat ground meat. For the same reason, avoid fermented and aged foods of all sorts, from animals and plants. If possible, get meat from animals that were slaughtered under low-stress conditions and so avoid factory-farmed. By the way, organ meats like kidney contain DAO. But I can't speak of foods that increase the body's endogenous levels of histamines, as I now avoid chocolate and red wine. In any case, I'm not sure that histamines have ever been a problem for me. I've had various symptoms when I shifted from various diets, but they've mostly all resolved now that I've settled into a diet that is ketoish and carnivorish with some occasional carbs and plant foods. Beef, in particular, is very easy on my system with no obvious issues of digestion or anything else.
This paints an extra grim picture for those with MCAS/histamine intolerance. Often with these conditions, people are limiting their foods causing greater malnutrition, then on top of that, taking extremely high doses of antihistamines which block acetylcholine further, which would create even more gut dysfunction. Many people with histamine/allergy issues seem to have leaky gut/SIBO/IBS and many other gut issues, and I can't help but think that conventional treatment will only make these conditions worse and create detrimental effects on the gut and vagus nerve. Myself included. Thiamine treatment has almost fully alleviated my colonic inertia after 10 years of severe symptoms. I was left with only the option of removing half of my bowel, Thiamine and cofactors have restored it's function. Glutamine has helped with the leaky gut and thus the MCAS is getting better. I absolutely believe you're correct in this theory and I appreciate your work in helping people help themselves. 💙 Stay awesome Elliott!

I also take a methylated b complex a few times a week to make sure I'm not missing anything. Thiamine in high doses should be taken with magnesium and potassium, as it uses it all up, you'll end up with cramps otherwise. Good luck!
@@moniryousefian8782 it's a combo treatment as they all rely on each other to work. Potassium and magnesium need to be taken with high dose thiamine or you'll get muscle cramps and fatigue. Therapeutic doses of thiamine are between 600-1200mgs, I started at 20 and worked up over the months, now at 600. It took a few months for the treatment to really worth. Glutamine I started low, got one without any fillers, then built up to a loading dose of a few scoops a day, then, after feeling a lot better, worked down to quarter scoop per day. Hope it helps you.
So happy I found your channel. My husband has only 10% of his colon after a golf ball size tumor. This video makes sense to me. Definitely going to try this.
This Video is spot on! But he forgot to mention LEAKY GUT as a result of (among others) a B1 deficiency. Body can only store B1 for 3-7 days! Meaning we HAVE TO TAKE IN B1 on a regular/daily/weekly!
Yes this is true. I struggled for 16 years with acid reflux and took PPIs for 10 years. Last few months on B1 Thiamine for another ailment and B12 and found out by chance my acid reflux stopped. Amazing and true so good luck and good health to all and thanks Elliott. Shalom
This is awesome, I started supplement high doses of B1 some weeks ago. At that point my intestines were still haywire. I went systematicaly through all vitamins, some with bloodtests, most without. But cronometer showed me I probaly had deficiency in B1 (and maybe also B3). I figured I might have started to develop cardiovasculair and digestive beri beri on symptoms, so thats why I took on a 2 month high dose of thiamine. I had the symptoms, but I mainly did it for my cardiovasculair system (I have peaks of high bloodpressure (ladible high bloodpressure) and arrhytmia together with it and it seems related to my digestion, when I am fasting (during night) my bp is normal and constant, when I eat it skyrockets up to hypotensial crisis levels for just a minute or so. I really started to improve after starting with thiamine supplementing. Last week I was looking into SIBO, because my intestine would go better and better and was looking for a way to support it and came across SIBO. Questionairs online also pointed towards this. So I bought probiotics as well. I first started with stomach enzymes some weeks ago believing I had low acid levels needing to be fixed, like said going from start to end to heal was my idea too. I found the idea of killing off gut bacteria first too radical to my liking. Since my bloating and belching had become way less lately I just try with probiotica right away. The pain to pressure in my belly has mostly gone already, my stool is more consistent as well my gut seems to heal. And now I see that thiamine is the vitamin that causes SIBO, or well the lack of thiamine does. This makes me 'happy' because this unwellness has been bugging since May. Another step taken in healing my body. I might still have some other deficiencies to work through, but thiamine has been a big one that dealt with many of my symptoms. One tiny vitamin... so much power. And just one that most will say you cant be deficient on. Really.... :(
@@kemalonur6319 I used triple dose of thiamine HCL at first (thats 'just' 9mg per day, but comes to about 850% rda) for like 3 months. It helped me enough, I dont take any at the moment but I feel some symptoms trying to come back (ny digestion is fine though) so I will start it again soon to see if thats because of thiamine or something else. I need to buy new which I cant at the moment, but I might go for benfothiamine now. It was unavailable before as only 1 (web) shop here sells it, and order from abroad gets too expensive due to import taxes.
I've watched a few vids today on B1. Your's and dr. Berg's have been the best explanation so far. I had repeated SIBO due to bad well water for 2.4 yr before fifuring it out. It had arsenic and uranium in it. I had worked with 3 teams of Cleveland clinic dr in Cleveland Ohio ,and no one had answers. I finally went through a few functional med dr and one gave me a urine test that found out it was those 2 heavy metals. I was drinking 60 oz a day of it. For some reason it's been 4 months since i stopped the water, and i keep having constipation. It is like legit paralysis of my digestive tract. I'm positive after almost dying ( i had many other issues besides digestive) my liver and vagus nerve had seen anough. My small Intestine is probably shot. I'm eating paleo ( also high quility cheese i kept), otherwise paleo diet. Drink 60oz of SAFE water daily. I use infrared sauna. I workout. I don't eat fake sugars. I've been stuck on miralax of at least a small dose. If i get lower on it, try weaning off...i get constipation to a point almlst NOTHING works. 2 caps of miralax daily and up to 4 sennas twice a day to try clearing out. This week nothing worked. The GI put me on the protocol for when you are about to get a scope. Starting today, after watching all of these videos, i started thorne muilti vitamin. It has all the Bs woth egerything else. I hope when i get back to eating tomorrow, it helps. I was already athletic and thin. Lost 30 pounds. I'm sick of being called 2D. Never thought at 39 words would hurt. This B1 gives me hope. Plus, i see a new functional this Friday. B1, Paleo, probiotics, and digestive enzymes should get things going 🙏🏼
This probably applies to way more people than we think. I bet this is a widespread problem with so much processed carb and sugar consumption and poor diets and other modern lifestyle factors. Thank you for making this video.
@@ahlaali7934only just saw your reply. No I didn't get tested for B1 levels. I actually started taking the benfotiamine for Parkinson's symptoms and the gut improved. If the gut is dysfunctional, then you malabsorb nutrients that make neurotransmitters and hormones.
You are entirely correct, been on high dose thiamine now for 3 months has improved my gut health to no end, my thyroid and sinus is healing and I am slowly losing weight and inflammation together with eating once a day on a healthy diet.
@@chrystale888 vitamin B1 comes in many different forms. Each bill contains a different type of B1 and acts differently. Just a plain pill does not fully explain what you are taking. If you could share the brand name then I could understand what type of B1 you are taking.
Sounds like what I have been through for the last 12 years. I started a new diet that avoids milk, wheat and most fruit and upped meat input and eating marmite which contains B1 along with D3. I have noticed a huge difference in how I no longer have reflux or bloating.
You are shortening your life unfortunately as low carb, high fat diets are proven to to do in randomized, controlled studies. Eating meat to avoid IBS/SIBO is not a long term fix.

Drink one quart of cabbage juice (juice it) every day. Consider the work of Garnett Cheney, M.D. He had 100 peptic ulcer patients drink a quart of raw cabbage juice daily. The patients reported dramatically less pain, and X-ray examination confirmed faster healing time. There was no other change in their diet, and they did not have drug therapy. 81% of the patients were symptom-free within one week; over two-thirds were better in just four days. Average healing time for patients given standard hospital treatment was over a month. (Cheney, G: "Vitamin U Therapy of Peptic Ulcer," California Medicine, vol. 77, number 4, October, 1952) Dr. Cheney used cabbage juice to also treat gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers. He clearly was onto something, which he called "Vitamin U" (for ulcer) for lack of a better name. Today, the cabbage family (cruciform) vegetables including Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, kale and broccoli, are finally being recommended to help prevent diseases including cancer. Dr. Cheney was getting therapeutic results in four days with cabbage juice nearly 70 years ago! If it worked then, it will work now. I know of people who have utilized cabbage juice along with vegetarian diet and fasting to heal all forms of gastrointestinal diseases without drugs and without surgery. One person even cured her untreatable rectal bleeding with cabbage juice. I know of people who, instead of using cabbage, juiced broccoli, broccoli leaves, or kale and obtained success with fairly severe, chronic GI pain. They juiced the kale or broccoli along with carrots to keep the juicer from clogging or running too warm. Dr. Cheney's patients probably were't wild about the idea at first, either. However, they were out of the hospital far sooner, with far less pain, that patients who were not juicing. If cabbage juice can heal a bleeding stomach ulcer, crater and all, in a patient with the condition so bad that it requires hospitalization, then it is plausible that it will heal above the stomach (Barrett's) or below it (Crohn's). Supplementing with vitamin C is very valuable to help heal lesions and inflammation all along the GI tract. Thousands of milligrams in divided doses are necessary for best results. Enough "C" should be taken to improve the condition, but not so much as might cause excessively loose bowels. A non-acidic vitamin C is ideal, because it will not irritate the digestive tract. Sodium ascorbate or calcium ascorbate both work well. Magnesium ascorbate will to, but it is pricey. Dosage is determined by personal experimentation GERD and Barrett's esophagus patients do not usually come home from the doctor's office with a prescription for cabbage juice. That is regrettable, since the juice of any of the cruicform vegetables hastens healing of the inner lining of the throat, as well as the stomach, as well as the intestine, as well as the bowel. Yes, that includes Crohn's disease.
great video...in many diseases it starts with microbiome gut problem and vitamin deficiency. Im currently studying nutrition and naturopathic....fascinating

I’m currently on that boat of not knowing what it is . I’ve been told I have IBS but the Fodmap diet made no difference for me . Some days I’m better , some others I’m miserable and haven’t been able to identify the triggers. I have hope that my issue could be vitamin B1 deficiency related . Thanks for making this video
Same here. I can nail some trigger foods down but others seem to be elusive. I was told the only diagnosis they could give me was IBS but my symptoms are more SIBO. I can't get officially tested for SIBO because you have to eliminate vit D from your diet for about 2 weeks. The minute I stop taking it, the muscle cramps get so bad.
@jackiealv6547 - I have same problem, diet seems to have no role, some days better others worse, all over the map. Currently being treated for SIBO but only in to the 1st few days of treatment. My gut is massive, like I am 10 months pregnant with triplets, and have been this size for about 15 years, but no diagnosis or help from the quacks, whom I gave up on ten years ago or more as all they did was repeated endoscopes and X-Rays, but no help at all. I have spent well into 4 figures trying all sorts of potential natural treatments - hefty on basic pension. Some gave me an improvement for a few weeks then ceased to be effective, as if the cause/s of the problem were adapting to everything I tried. Now, this is something new and interesting, and I am about to go order some TTFD right from here. Thank you, sir. Ever hopeful.
How is your diet? I am not trying to be funny, but 10 months pregnant witg triplets 😳😳 that’s MASSIVE and must be extremely uncomfortable to walk around or hell even sit with a gut that big. Diet? Exercise? Alcohol intake? If its really that big, something is obviously wrong or multiple things wrong. Constipation?
The thiamin increase in my diet has been massively helpful also I incorporated multiple 3-day fasts per month with I found compounded the benefits of starving the bacteria in my gut, I also find I am able to remain disciplined with my diet lowering my carbohydrates to sub 60grams & reserving my carb intake for the most nutritious cruciferous veg, no crap grains fries potato pasta bread. Best I've felt in 15 years I simply have no symptoms of any kind.

I am sleeping so much better and my inflammation is down. However, feeling a little crummy and weak today. My body has plenty of nutrition, so I'm trying to figure out what else it needs. Salt, potassium and magnesium don't seem to cut it. Edit 1 year on: Learning a lot more about my own health, made mistakes along the way. I do not recommend fasting, it was a bad idea for me, and go slow whenever trying anything new and remember to speak to your doctor first. I've just run out of benfotiamine. That's how I notice that it really does help me with my digestive and insulin issues.
@@ColonialT7 Back in 2019 I did. It was really low. Have since been supplimenting and basking in the sun (as much as possible in the UK). Levels were normal last I checked, but I really do need to check again.
Interesting that you mention your issues cropped up after a bout of food poisoning. Same experience here. Problem for me is I seem to trigger multiple week long muscle twitching with any thiamine despite adequate salt and magnesium. Potassium hard to say since SIBO/SIFO is pretty brutal and I keep my diet very simple right now. How are you getting on?
I have been suffering from reflux, upper bloating, mixed - constipation and diarrhea,….. almost all gastric issues since 2016. My doctor told me it’s IBS thing. The pain and trauma can’t explain! Now I will try this and I will come back for the update.

I've just stumbled upon this video, at a moment where I'm very close to self deleting. I have all the symptoms listed (except for diarrhea/constipation) and I'm on the 'typical' NHS investigative track. So far, they've found high levels of inflammation in my stomach & low levels of B12/anaemic. Colonoscopy and MRI were clear. I'm constantly exhausted and I'm in constant pain/discomfort. If I miss doses of omeprazol then acid reflux hits immediately and severely. I'm a shadow of my former self and I feel like I'm rotting from the inside. I'm now unable to work and I can barely function. I hope this video can help me.
I hope you have had success in treating. I was touched by your post, wanted to share some of my research. This here is a great resource of course, in addition a channel name "C C" titled "How I beat SIBO, etc" gave me great hope. Basically Ginger extract and Artichoke extract to stimulate the small intestine. His channel, his history of research and Dr tests, plus helpful comments with his video gave me more to go on and I've been researching this for 10 years! Best wishes.
I was on Omeprazol for 12 mths, I got terrible heartburn when I came off them, I found out eating Whey in any form was the culprit ie Butter etc and if food fried in butter was even worse.
Just want to say thanks to you! I have sibo and candia in my gut. I was doing herbal tintures for 2 months. I also found out this year I have the MTHFR mutation gene which I am unable to convert b vitamins into its activated form. I did the OAT test as well and it said I have no b6, b2, b12 or b9 in my system. I'm 30 this year and have tried so hard to figure out all my issues. Now I know the root cause of how I got all this stuff and I will continue to take b1! I even got my mum and dad on an activated b complex. My dad has RA and my mum has collitus. I assume they have MTHFR as well since its passed down!!. Thank you sooo much I never knew b1 was this important!! ❤
@@faay8912 I went to my drs and asked if they could test. They ask why and I said because I'm sure I have it. They didn't really want to test for it but I kept pushing. I'm in Australia and it cost me about $70.
@@briioxx7468 you're exactly who I was looking for in these comments. The b1 goes ok for you? Are you supplementing with the l-methyl as well? I've been struggling immensely to work out the kinks with this inheritance and I fear taking the b1 and spiraling further somehow. I'd greatly appreciate to hear a little more of your protocol and how it worked out for you.
@@ThriftMaven heyyy haha. Yeah I was doing 100mg of b1 but don't really feel too much different tbh. Unsure if it's because I'm not taking enough. On my oat test though it did say 0 b6. So none in my system. I was taking activated b vitamins and they help a little. But was still getting pins and needs in hands and feet and mad ringing in my ears for weeks now. My natropath said it's histamine problems which is probably true but I feel like maybe my root cause is not enough b6 as b6 helps break down DAO. Soo i got 100mg of b6 p5p online and trying to take a higher dose as I've been low probably my entire life. I'm really hoping this helps because my oat test said I have no dopamine, serotonin etc and was saying it was b6 related. What have you been trying? What do you find works for you??
You sound just like me! I just did the OAT test and I have no b vitamins, no dopamine! My neurotransmitters are low… and I have the MTHFR gene mutation 😅🤦🏻♀️. I just started B1 & a B complex. How’s this going for you??
Also important to mention that celiac disease gives the same symptoms as this popular ibs thing. Depends on kind of celiac disease, but most of the cases its full spectrum. And all that has to be done is go gluten free diet and supplement the holy list for celiac deficiency and magically all the symptoms go away. I had this problem for over 7 years and was constantly told that its because of stress, because of bad food (which i didnt eat that much) turns out it was celiac with vitamin deficiencies :)
I learnt from your videos that Thiamine, especially TTFD, is good for your gut (looking forward to trying it). In the meantime, due to my country situation, I am unable to buy these. However, our country locally produces B1 as Thiamine hydrochloride (together with B6 and B12). Is it OK for my gut? I notice that after taking this vitamin, I became more energetic but becoming thinner, even though I don’t know about my gut.
Just subscribed! I love nutrition and the way you broke everything down. 😊. Question: Is there a food source of the supplement you recommended or is it only therapeutic in supplement form? Thanks!
I REALLY need some B1. I know I am already B deficit, as I am prone to depression, anxiety, and my family has a history of schizophrenia (though not me specifically) which is improved with an increase in B vitamins. The trick is having the right ones.
First line of defense: naturally fermented vegetetables especially cabbage which is known to increase stomach acidity, repopulate gut bacteria and literally sweep the intestines clean to resolve malabsorption issues...
I’ve heard about this before. I am not a fan of how nutritional yeast tastes, perhaps it is how I’m using it? Are you willing to share some ways you use nutritional yeast?

Fantastically intriguing … As a type 1 diabetic, this potentially connects a great many things that I have discovered over the years. That type 1 diabetes is blamed, by many, on leaky gut … where the stomach fails to stop the release of certain elements into the digestive system. Namely dairy, which as an alien release in the body is comprised in a chain of proteins dangerously similar to the composition of beta cells that produce insulin. When the body recognizes the danger, and releases antibodies to attack the invaders, the antibodies mistake the pancreas’s beta cells, for the alien dairy proteins. Which begins the bodies degradation of itself, into diabetes. Interesting information, indeed.
That is research findings from European countries that I read about over 40 years ago. There were studies in I believe Norway showing that people formula-fed as babies would go on to develop diabetes for just that reason. But you will never find that allowed to be published in this country.
I've exhausted all other avenues. SIBO test, h pylori test, GI mapping (which really doesn't tell you much). All negative. Have tried so many supplements, and they just increase my reflux or react negatively with my system. Developed anxiety and fatigue, along with all of the symptoms you have mentioned in this video. Have started a B complex (half tab to start), cut out coffee, and increased water intake. Stress completely robs the body of B1, as I have learned, as does antibiotics (which I was taking several courses of last year). Perhaps this may help...here's hoping!
A b complex has nowhere near enough thiamine to address a deficiency. You need to megadose thiamine (b1) Elliott has recently uploaded a video regarding dosing. Most b complexes will have 1mg of thiamine hcl, you may actually need over 1000mg. Go check his video and don't give up 💪
I started taking B 1 Allithiamine from Dr. Berg (here on UA-cam) over a week ago and I started feeling a difference the next day. My muscles are getting stronger and I feel more stable when I stand and walk.
Did you notice any burning or tingling in your abdomen when you took it? I've been having abdominal pain and burning for a while now, and when I took the Allithiamine pill, I felt the burning increase. I'm not sure if it's because of the concentration of garlic in the pill or what. I took it once the other day, and now I'm scared to take it again.
@@Sarah_S26 I’m sorry to hear about that. I didn’t have any feeling like that in my gut or any negative side effects. However I’ve noticed that I feel like it’s starting to feel like it’s not working anymore. I’ve read that taking B1 causes you to use B 2 and can delete your B 2 stores. According to what I read, you need B 2 in order for B 1 to work, so when your B 2 stores are depleted then the B 1 stops working. Idk if this is accurate because I haven’t done thorough research on it, but I do know that is how other vitamins work in your body. I’ll have to get B 2 and see if that helps. Also, carbs, sugar and caffeine effect the absorption and your body’s ability to effectively use B 1, so that’s something to keep in mind, as well. What I did when k started taking it was I fasted from everything, but water for a day. The morning I fasted I took B 1 and only drank water all day. Not sure if things would’ve turned out differently had I not fasted, but I did feel the effects very quickly.
Maintaining a red wiggler worm vermicompost bin can help you figure out how different foods in different quantities affects the health of the compost bin. Add too much grains, breads and oats and you'll get a fungal overgrowth. More sugars and starches cause more bacteria and can heat up the bin and cause it to digest the scraps faster. Sometimes when you add too much of certain foods that are higher acidity, it can kill off the bacteria and slow down the composting process. It's probably not *_exactly_* the same, but the general processes are the same, compost is really just bacteria and fungi digesting scraps until it becomes soil. Our poop is called "night soil" in places where they use manure to fertilize their fields.
When I have headache my digestive system just stops working. I need to vomit anything thats inside the stomach because there's no progress with digesting food at all. That shows how much brain control it all!

Hi Elliot, I've battled SIBO (first triggered by gastro, possibly mould) up and down for years, which has also caused histamine intolerance. My last SIBO test (2020) showed low numbers but I continue to struggle, having tried virtually everything. My histamine intolerance is such that I can only tolerate extremely small amounts and I recently tried the miracle cure colostrum, which only made everything far worse. So this post is interesting to me. (Of note, given my intolerance of most grains, I eat a lot of rice and rice-based products, which I read can cause low thiamine as well as anti-histamines and other aids like quercetin). My question is, I know that while thiamine deficiency can cause histamine intolerance, paradoxically B vitamins are histamine liberators. Can you advise on introducing thiamine with histamine intolerance?
Might have been interesting to read an answer to your very pertinent question. Personally I am beginning to get tired of all these medical influencers on youttube who garner likes and subscriptions and hits and presumably money, yet never have the time to answer sensible questions
Thanks, I'm going to try this! I've had IBS and SIBO for years and have had to adhere to a FODMAP diet to keep symptoms at bay. I've tried the antibiotics and herbs, but the effects don't last, so I figured it was probably a gut motility problem. Taking low dose naltrexone helps a bit, but I still have to watch my diet. It will feel like a miracle if Thiamine fixes my gut.
I would check the vitamin B complex. A lot of vitamins are synthetic and are not real. For example There are two forms of vitamin B12 that you're likely to come across - methylcobalamin and cyanocobalamin. Cyanocobalamin is the most commonly supplemented form of vitamin B12 and is chemically synthesised. Methylcobalamin is found in animal-based foods and is therefore obviously naturally occurring.
I use “doctors best” benfotiamine and alpha lipoic acid. 4 tablets/day for a couple of months, then 2 tablets/day until cured. TTFD from EOnutrition.. eliots website.. 1/day until present. This seems to have the fewest bulking agents etc. find on Amazon or eBay. I had sudden onset peripheral neuropathy January 2021. Had chilblains with ulcers that lasted for 3-4 months, double resting heart rate for same period, excessive sweating under arms and groin, Raynaud’s in fingers but not thumbs. Blue skin on nose and middle finger tip. Right middle finger and left middle toe were worst affected (which is what made me realise it was nerve related). Doctor was clueless.. said it “was just one of those things that happen “
Be careful with Vagus "stimulation", as the Vagus is also causing the freeze/dissociation response (when the sympathetic stays high). So the real goal is not stimulation but regulation. Some methods address this, like Somatic Experiencing or Organic Intelligence.

Do you have any improvement since you start taking the Vitamine? Thanks.
Super Important. Honestly I don't know him but after watching a few videos this gentleman is a bone fide genius when it comes to thiamine.
I was today years old when i found out this absolutely vital information! WOW .

I've had gut problems n recently use L Glutamine but still have gas n constipation what do you suggest n which brand of b1 or Glutamine you're taking n how much ( what dosage)
Thanks:)))
@@jerryigwe7684 I started first on a mineral complex, then micro doses of benfothiamine and built my way up. Therapeutic doses are around 600-1200mgs, so I've been pushing towards that through the months. I'm currently at 600, but took a long time to get there.
I started with a mineral complex by SISU, then started low dose benfothiamine (life extension brand) and worked my way up to higher doses. I take AOR b complex ultra a few times a week.

Really.... :(
How much dose of thiamine did you use? What is your current situation?
@@kemalonur6319 I used triple dose of thiamine HCL at first (thats 'just' 9mg per day, but comes to about 850% rda) for like 3 months. It helped me enough, I dont take any at the moment but I feel some symptoms trying to come back (ny digestion is fine though) so I will start it again soon to see if thats because of thiamine or something else. I need to buy new which I cant at the moment, but I might go for benfothiamine now. It was unavailable before as only 1 (web) shop here sells it, and order from abroad gets too expensive due to import taxes.
Vitamin D is also essential for gut biome modulation, along with B vitamins.

77, number 4, October, 1952)
Dr. Dosage is determined by personal experimentation
GERD and Barrett's esophagus patients do not usually come home from the doctor's office with a prescription for cabbage juice. That is regrettable, since the juice of any of the cruicform vegetables hastens healing of the inner lining of the throat, as well as the stomach, as well as the intestine, as well as the bowel. Yes, that includes Crohn's disease.
I saw a post on Twitter how a guy cured his crohn's by daily taking Niacin and Entero Thorne mix

So grateful to you Elliot. . Thank you so much. Love the video, so well explained and informative.
Just subscribed! I love nutrition and the way you broke everything down. 😊. Question: Is there a food source of the supplement you recommended or is it only therapeutic in supplement form? Thanks!
Brilliant presentation as always Elliot. Thank you so much for sharing this info. Much gratitude
Which videos on your channel specifically go over which cofactors one should be taking alongside thiamine to treat thiamine deficiency/insufficiency?
Magnesium, other B vitas, electrolytes, molybdenum. Pretty much try to cover all of the essential micronutrients if lacking in your diet
Your analysis is very good, continue on the right path, Success Elliot
I am waiting for the video when you tell How TTFD influence Heavy Metal Chelation😳 How it works for Detoxification
I'm glad I noticed your comment
@@inspiredtothriveMarie What does that mean? influences heavy metal chelation?
According to Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt B1 detoxes lead from the body.
is it ? so what we need to take then?
Also spirolina for metals and many other benefits.
I REALLY need some B1. I know I am already B deficit, as I am prone to depression, anxiety, and my family has a history of schizophrenia (though not me specifically) which is improved with an increase in B vitamins. The trick is having the right ones.
Plz guide me I am also suffering from IBS and depression, anxiety.
I have added unfortified nutritional yeast to my diet. I have also added broccoli sprout powder for sulfur.
I started Nutritional yeast Non-fortified yesterday. I just ordered the Ttfd B1 supplement today. 🙏💯👊
First line of defense: naturally fermented vegetetables especially cabbage which is known to increase stomach acidity, repopulate gut bacteria and literally sweep the intestines clean to resolve malabsorption issues...
So much information for those suffering
I noticed a huge difference when I added nutritional yeast daily to my diet.
I’ve heard about this before. I am not a fan of how nutritional yeast tastes, perhaps it is how I’m using it? Are you willing to share some ways you use nutritional yeast?
@@ParableFig_JLynn87. I use nutrition yeast in everything . Soups ,bread . As a sprinkle on potato salad . In nut butters ……vegan homemade nut cheese , etc . Cheers Pat nz
Look into the carnivore diet. When you first hear about it, you'd think it was just a fad diet but its not. Don't sleep on it
Did you try thiamine? Did it help in any way?
@@NishantGandhi7 Sadly, it didn't really make a dent
A b complex has nowhere near enough thiamine to address a deficiency. You need to megadose thiamine (b1)
Elliott has recently uploaded a video regarding dosing. Most b complexes will have 1mg of thiamine hcl, you may actually need over 1000mg. Go check his video and don't give up 💪
Research Dr. Coimbra and high dose vitamin d therapy. ua-cam.com/video/8ndZ89b0nl0/v-deo.html
@@HappilyAnonymousGirlhe says you need to take b complex too to b1 work
This information is pure gold!. Thank you so much. You are so kind for sharing it!
Beautiful presentation!
When I have headache my digestive system just stops working. I need to vomit anything thats inside the stomach because there's no progress with digesting food at all. That shows how much brain control it all!
You might need a high potency B-vitamin complex to keep your stomach working
It is not the brain directly but the vagus nerve!
Next time take an inexpensive dose of Nux Vomica 30c (Amazon) for 3+ doses. Usually helps that. My son had that many many times. Also, be careful w Canola and "VEGETABLE" oils, very toxic to many ppl guts.
Sounds like gastroparesis
@@boop5287 I too suffered as a child from migraines, which would not go away until I vomited and emptied my stomach completely, until I tasted sour bile. I was fit and fine soon after that. Never got an explanation for this till date. I am 60 now.
UA-cam recommended have been real good lately
Elliot, bro I've been sufferring with SIBO from the past three months, and was prescribed Rifaximin but no improvement, Was suffering with heavy bloating post meals, burps, got very lethargic, anxious and depressed. Did my blood tests couple of days back and was marginally deficient with B1. It's just been couple of days consuming Benfotamine B1 200 mg and I feel so better. I believe my root cause of SIBO would have been food poisoning, am definitely going to avoid refined carbs and heavy caffeine intake, SIBO and gut disorders is horrible,.. Definetely going to work on getting B1 from diet, can't thank you enough for this....
Was it a serum level of B1? Or total they looked at

My aunt drinks and has stomach anf joint issues. Other aunt had a stroke as a child and also has cerebral paulsy and has a limited diet. By dad has gord and iregular heart beat . Had a cardiac arrest and now diagnosed with cerebellar attaxia.
I feel that all of this couod have been from varying vitamin defeiciencies in my dads side of th family . Mainly vitamine b.
I was precribed it for a while but it wasnt explained to me what it does so i stopped . When inwas taking it my life was the best. Im so exited to get back to it. Because maybe having this knowledge has saved the future of the family i have left and will have.
Love this video...You encouraged me to test my B1 levels. It came out as normal. I still tried taking it, but as I have histamine overlaod and mast cell activation, B1 increased by histamine very fast. I feel I need to fight SIBO, but not sure how to avoid the elevated histamine...
Remember to take magnesium with it. Vitamin C helps lower histamine.
Hw said that it's hard to identify just gotta follow the feelings
Wish you got an answer! How are you doing with your histamine?Did you stay on the B1?
Try potassium chloride wit Salt
I had the same problem I continued on it and after the 3 days it was done. I would go nowhere without my Electrolyte water which helps because I would get severe Acid reflux to the point of anaphylaxis when my histamine got to high.
I was diagnosed with ibs 20 years ago , I have had gut issues since the late 80s, I've had colonoscopy, ultrasound, two endoscopic last one I had the did a text for hpylori. I was given triple therapy medication It completely cleared my symptoms up ,everything went back to normal, but after 9 months my symptoms returned this was 15 years ago , I'm gonna give this a try thanks for the info.
You should retest for H. pylori. What test did you use the first time?
My gall bladder was removed when I was 27. Will this effect the stomach acid production. I have been chewing antacid etc since then. Is this why..? I am now 80.

When I had my endoscopy they took a tissue sample from my stomach which was positive for hpylori.
@@martinjay3570how are you now?
You have to take high quality refridgerated probiotics throughout your antibiotics and a couple months after or h pylori will return. Also prebiotics after antibiotics
Can you advise on introducing thiamine with histamine intolerance?
very nteresting question for the ones that have low DAO enzime
Did you ever figure out an answer to this?
Only b9 folate is histamine liberator.
Did it work?
Did you try it?
I would look into such supplements as black seed oil, Pau d'arco, garlic, clove, oil of oregano, etc. For this, maybe. And don't forget the Butyrate.
Hi Caroline, hope you get bettet? Would you share experiance? Have you tried TTDF or other thiamine?
There is no one solution for everyone..., that's all I've learnt, u have to keep exploring every option until you find the right one....
So true. Well said.
Great information but you should’ve linked the other videos that tells us what vitamins we need to be taken that go along with this
I take a “B” complex vitamin that has all of the B’s, but my IBS includes DIVERTICULOSIS , GERD, HIATAL HERNIA, plus other health problems. ☹️
Benfotiamine and TTFD have cured my Raynauds that was a symptom of peripheral neuropathy.
May I ask what brand of Benfotiamine did you use n what part of your body did you have peripheral neuropathy?
Outstanding video and information!👏🏾

What’s a good mg dose? Thank you!
Looking at the replies, the amount of people getting life changing results from b1 is incredible ! Great video
Have you had any experiences with anyone attempting to treat adhd symptoms with ttfd?
UA-camrs w calm british accents are really becoming the mvps this year.
Be careful with Vagus "stimulation", as the Vagus is also causing the freeze/dissociation response (when the sympathetic stays high).
So the real goal is not stimulation but regulation. Some methods address this, like Somatic Experiencing or Organic Intelligence.
Could you pls elaborate.
Great summary!👍
Much appreciated!
