Please Google search: "Can Epstein-Barr virus manipulate genes". Epstein-Barr virus is what causes glandular fever (mononucleosis). This is what has wreaked havoc in my life for the last 41 years. Interestingly, I contracted it at the age of 16 also. I now call it "long mono" disease.
I gave this video a thumbs down because it is a clickbait title of the video. The speaker does not say that you can heal the gut microbiome in just 1 day/24 hours - rather you need to do a variety of multiple things and factors which take TIME to heal the gut microbiome, not just 24 hours. If you make HONEST video titles, then i am sure you will get subscribers.
00:25 🌱 Fiber is crucial for gut health as it supports the gut barrier and reduces inflammation. 08:22 🥦 All plants contain fiber, which nourishes gut microbes and supports gut health. 10:52 🥔 Resistant starch, found in foods like potatoes, green bananas, and legumes, is beneficial for gut health. 16:35 🚦 Slowly introducing fiber-rich foods is key for individuals with IBS or IBD to avoid discomfort and gradually strengthen gut health. 21:24 🍽 Exclusion diets aren't necessary for IBS or IBD management; introducing fiber gradually can lead to symptom remission and improved gut health. 23:44 🍽 Diversity and abundance in diet are crucial for a healthy gut microbiome, as studies show restrictive diets lead to less healthy microbiomes. 27:09 🩺 Autoimmune and allergic conditions are consistently associated with dysbiosis, indicating a disrupted gut microbiome. 30:52 🧠 Lifestyle choices, including diet, sleep, exercise, and stress management, significantly influence gut health and microbiome composition. 39:45 🦠 SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth) is characterized by an overgrowth of bacteria in the small intestine, often leading to bloating, discomfort, and diarrhea. 46:35 💊 Rushing to treat SIBO with antibiotics may not be effective and could worsen the underlying dysbiosis issue. 47:03 🌱 Restoring a healthy gut microbiome requires building and empowering the beneficial bacteria over time through dietary changes, particularly by adding fiber-rich foods. 50:02 💩 Constipation, not SIBO, may be the underlying issue for some experiencing bloating and other digestive symptoms. Addressing bowel regularity rather than immediately resorting to antibiotics can often resolve these symptoms. 51:13 🚨 Diarrhea is a symptom, not a diagnosis, and can have various underlying causes, including IBS, SIBO, celiac disease, or inflammatory bowel disease. Proper diagnosis is essential before determining treatment. 52:18 💊 Antibiotics are not always the solution for gut issues like SIBO. Making an accurate diagnosis and treating the underlying cause rather than immediately resorting to medication is crucial for long-term gut health. 53:25 🍽 Fear of food restriction can exacerbate gut health issues. Reintroducing diverse foods, rather than eliminating them, can often be the solution to improving gut health and reducing symptoms. 54:17 🔄 Gut health is adaptable, and improvement is possible through gradual changes in diet and lifestyle. Just as with physical rehabilitation, consistent effort can lead to significant improvements in gut function and overall health. 58:31 🥤 Belching can result from factors like carbonated drinks, sipping through straws, or chewing gum. Awareness of these habits and addressing them can help reduce belching issues. 01:01:12 💨 Aeroasia, the repeated swallowing of air leading to excessive belching, may require specific treatments like speech therapy or low-dose antidepressants to break the cycle. 01:05:16 👨👩👧👦 "Live well, be well" extends beyond individual health to fostering supportive family connections and meaningful human interactions, emphasizing the importance of social bonds for overall well-being. And now, here are the top 10 gut foods: Fruits 🍎: Rich in fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants, fruits promote gut health and aid digestion. Vegetables 🥦: High-fiber veggies like broccoli, kale, and spinach nourish gut bacteria and support overall digestive function. Whole Grains 🌾: Foods like oats, quinoa, and brown rice provide fiber to feed beneficial gut microbes. Legumes 🥜: Beans, lentils, and chickpeas are excellent sources of fiber and protein, supporting gut health. Nuts and Seeds 🌰: Almonds, chia seeds, and flaxseeds are packed with fiber and healthy fats, benefiting gut flora. Fermented Foods 🥗: Including yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut, and kimchi, fermented foods contain probiotics that promote a healthy balance of gut bacteria. Tempeh and Tofu 🥡: Plant-based sources of protein like tempeh and tofu also contain prebiotics, nourishing gut microbes. Herbs and Spices 🌿: Ginger, garlic, and turmeric possess anti-inflammatory properties and support digestive health. Seaweed 🌊: Rich in fiber and minerals, seaweed varieties like nori and kelp promote gut health and support a diverse microbiome. Dark Chocolate 🍫: In moderation, dark chocolate can provide antioxidants and prebiotics that benefit gut health. Remember, Dr. Will Bulsiewicz, author of "Fiber Fuelled," developed the F-GOALS acronym, which stands for: fruit and fermented foods; greens and grains; omega-3; aromatics; legumes; and seaweed, sulforaphane, and 'shrooms.
Doctor: It takes time to build a strong microbiome with proper nutrition, over time, with patience. This girl interperting the doctor: it takes 24 hours!
My family member was incredibly ill (eventually non-functional due to blood loss) with UC. We took all the fibre we could out of the diet and did a low fodmap diet, ate only homemade food, no processed food, no sugar, organic, no chemical additives. After 1 1/2 months no improvement. With a ton of fear and trepidation we decided to do the opposite. Switched to a high fibre diet, 35 different foods in a week, no processed food, no sugar, organic as much as possible. Family member was back to health in 6 weeks!
When you said that you “switched to a high fibre diet” you had me worried for a moment, but as you’ve seen such excellent results I’m sure you started reintroducing fibre at an adequate pace. Edit: I do know that items on the low FODMAP list contain fibre.
Actually we didn’t really pace the addition of the fibre. We just dove in with an organic, super clean plant based diet. So meals like tofu, broccoli and rice, beans, salads, soups, etc. Always ensuring 35 different plant foods each week. We also made our own probiotic soy yogurt and added a 1/4 c of it to a 3 cup smoothie each morning (berries, papaya, banana, chia, hemp, flax, spinach, etc). The smoothies usually had 12-15 different plant foods in it, even though sometimes it was just a teaspoon of this or that. We added a slice of probiotic dill pickles, live probiotic sauerkraut, some miso and that kind of thing daily in small quantities. We were nervous as heck but it worked!
@@stellaancimer8505 When more than occasional restaurant food, sugar, alcohol, processed food(think Doritos, chocolate bars/burgers and fries) etc are reintroduced there is a return of gut pain and cramping which can go on for days. However, so far, as long as the diet is kept primarily clean all is well.
@@joanramler7831 of course you are totaly right. for me i dont eat process food, and "clean" diet if you mean with vegetable is not ok for people who has sibo for example, or other inflamation in the gut.
Excellent! Dr B has been my mentor (he may not know me) in the last one year. 17 kgs dropped. BMI 22. Healthy, zero to low allergies. Super fit! All credits to Dr B and many learned persons like him.
I've been listening to your podcast for a while now and I'm always impressed by how you let your guests finish their thoughts. It's so refreshing to hear a podcast where the host isn't constantly interrupting. Your respectful approach really makes a difference.
I’m so thankful for receiving this type of information to help guide me back to a healthy gut like I had when I was young. With severe diverticulitis, I was inundated with very strong, bacteria destroying antibiotics, and no doctor or surgeon ever recommended a protocol to rebuild those critical bacteria. Thank you Will and Sarah!
. . . one of the very best interviews ever out of the many, many that I regularly watch & learn from.... Dr B is so clear in his explanations that just give so much hope to so mamy . . . God Bless You Both So Much for all the value you bring to our world....
Excellent easy to watch and listen to video. love how Dr. Sarah didn’t interrupt and appropriately acknowledged Dr Will. Great information on gut health. I have been struggling for a month with frequent visits to the bathroom day and night. All tests came back negative. I feel stress plays a big part in gut health. More Yoga Nidra needed to get me through the night. Thanks for having Dr Will on your Channel.
The part for me was where you explain about starting low and going slow on introduction of food. This was where I slipped up so many times before and abruptly cut that food out again completely. I am currently on this journey (was actually convinced I had a yeast overgrowth to begin with) but was cutting all my foods down thinking "why am I getting worse and yet eating less and less" I am now gradually, and I mean gradually introducing other foods and finding that I am able to eat them without them crippling me. The analogy you made about the dodgy knee really sums this up perfectly.
The drug store told me my prescription sent in by the doctor was 2,000 dollars. ( Rifaximin) then my insurance company okayed it and it was 850.00 dollars. I said no thanks! Plus the side effects scared the heck out of me. The breath test for sibo I canceled too. Side effects or possible side effects were bloody diarrhea or stomach cramping . No thank you. I took the candida med to kill the yeast but that didn’t work either. Now I am taking anti microbials. From a naturopathic doctor. It has been a few years now and nothing is working. Wow!!!
@@widowswatch6610I did the breath test and denied the expensive antibiotics. What I did do was Dr. Ruscio’s sibo program. Specific probiotics, oregano & more. Low fodmap for a short period. I am so much better, no bloating at all! I hope this might help you.
This is amazing I love his work. And with all due respect, I think it would be better if she would just let people speak instead of saying hmhm every five seconds. Besides that. Thanks!!! I couldn’t find the podcast he was speaking about, does someone know where I can find it?
Since 1997, I (age 78) I have had serious flares about every 5 years which have lasted for approx. 3-5 months. I am now experiencing a moderate but debilitating flare without knowing what and how to manage this again. The amount of either false or so called causes and remedies make my approach to healing very difficult. I have yet to understand or have a diagnoses of why every 5 years or so, as my diet does not change that much and my activity is also good. I am athletic and happy and happily married. I also am a retired general medical doctor and now offering psychotherapy freely to local people in need. So. Have bought the latest book by Dr. Bulsiewicz. Hope that this will give me some enduring dietary habits to stop/manage this process.
I had an episode of SIBO in March 2020. I lost 40 lbs. I was vomiting every day. It smelled like sulphur. It was disgusting. I prayed about what to do because I couldn’t eat or drink ANYTHING. I slowly began eating boiled white potatoes and was able to tolerate it. All the meanwhile, my stomach burned. I continued because that’s all I could eat and I couldn’t go to the doctor because at that time it was next to impossible to even be seen by a doctor because of the COVID fear. I laid in bed in misery for a couple of months. I was 50 years old at the time. Within a few months I went back to working as an RN. Wearing a mask while nauseated was no joke. I wasn’t fearful of COVID. I was fearful of what I had. I continued boiling my potatoes and then I was able to include carrots, zucchini and squash. I was hungry all the time. I couldn’t eat any meat or anything that created an acid environment in my body. No meat, no chicken broth, no sugar. All those foods were like fire to my intestines. I couldn’t even eat vegetables with any sulphur in them like onions, garlic or broccoli. After a year I was able to eat more foods slowly but they had to be very soft with not much roughage, basically low residue. I stumbled across a study on an army doctor who treated all of his soldier patients that had stomach ulcers with potatoes. At that time there were rations and not a lot of food was available. They were ALL healed. I also found a study that explained how the components in potatoes would cause aptosis in cells. Apparently this caused the bad microbes to burst and eventually the person was healed after they bad microbes died. I just know this was all an answer to prayer. Praying for your healing 🙏🏼
After listening to this podcast I have bought “Fibre fuelled” on audio to listen to while I cook! Inspiration for a sufferer who really wants to get better. I just realized that I spelled the title of your book incorrectly apologies, American English is not my first language! 😂
I'll also buy it but only when this person has sat down and had a PUBLIC CONVERSATION with Bart Kay.

This is life changing information. I watch a lot of these videos and this is one of the most informative. I had a sit down with my biome and it is pleased. Thank you to the good Doctor and lovely Sarah.😉😊
I have IBS-D, EPI, SBS. I began adding in fiber SLOWLY& taking a peppermint oil pill & Atrantil before every meal. Took several months but fiber & no added sugar seem to have worked.
Since I had covid 2 yrs ago. I have Ibs. I've never ever had issues in my life till covid. Doctor are reporting that this is a side effect. I do eat lots of vegetables and fermented foods. Prebiotic. Probiotic. Keeping things healthy. I'm taking control of my own health! ❤
Such an amazing video!!! I suffer from atopic dermatitis since birth. I developed asthma and several allergies later on. I have been healing through my diet and management of stress since 2020. I'm so grateful to be able to watch these videos 🙌🏼😍 I had no idea what was going on in my body when I was a teenager. I just thought I had to live using steroids forever. Thank you for everything!!
I’ve heard so many different messages about the need for fibre. Some say it’s required for optimal digestion, others say animal fat instead is better and more gentle than fibre. I’m so confused about what is true. Great ideas in this interview. 👏🇦🇺
As I understand it, based on other talks by Dr. B, a very messed up Microbiome, ironically, will not be able to handle all the fiber that will ultimately heal the gut. Therefore, fiber has to be increased VERY slowly, giving the gut time to build up the good microbes. But in the short run, for those with messed up guts, animal products may feel less challenging as this is more likely what those bad microbes have adapted to. Additionally, some folks have food sensitivities which need to be sorted out by an elimination diet. Carnivore, for example, is a strict elimination diet. BUT the real challenge is to gradually add back plant foods to see which is the culprit. It may be one or two plant foods but only those one or two and all others would only heal the gut. So moral is to go "low and slow" with fiber and if that doesn't work, do a dietician supervised elimination diet, gradually adding back healthy plant foods.
I can tell you this. When I started taking in more fiber and started walking everyday……. First I lost 25 pounds in 6 months and my chronic heartburn and acid reflux went away. Drink lots of water with your fiber rich foods.
This is so true. I’m an all in kind of guy, and when I started listening to Dr B I decided to full throttle the fiber. Holy cow. I was so bloated and gassy. Especially because I went fully throttle on one or two foods at a time, which was the biggest mistake. I learned that each plant food has a different type of fiber, and each feeds different microbes. A lot of one plant food means a lot of one specific fiber and overwhelms the gut because the one microbe isn’t grown and adjusted to it. If you don’t have sensitivities, you could probably start with SMALL amounts of lots of DIFFERENT plant foods at the same time, and this will likely be okay. If you have sensitivities, work on adding SMALL amounts of ONE plant food back at a time. Keep the small amount everyday for like 3 days to a week before increasing the amount or adding a new plant food. It’s a long slow game to play, but worth it when your gut is finally healthy and optimal
Thank you Sarah for your podcast first time here. Dr Will B is my favorite to learn so much knowledge. Thanks Dr B for sharing this video very important information. I’m a vegan chef and run over 4,000 miles a year with Nike raising $100,000 for the children’s cancer center & breast cancer to. Vegan for life! 🦍
After being treated for two different kinds of SIBO which helped at first and then returned, my ND tested me for mold mycotoxins. I was off the charts. I’ve been detoxing for a couple years and my levels are low. I’ve also detoxed heavy metals in the process. I’m now increasing Heather’s acacia fiber and taking Megapre, walking and feeling better than I have for years!
@@graciousSenor I'm so sorry. It seems "mysterious symptoms" are outside traditional medicine's understanding. I'd test for Lyme, heavy metals and mold mycotoxins. Hope you find answers. ❤
Would love an interview with Dr.B and Sally Norton the supposed expert on oxalates. She says to eliminate most of the things you promote. Totally lost with a crappy gut (no pun intended) but have no idea what to eat anymore. This Sally scares the heck out of me saying that you dump oxalates first years.
I’ve just started a low oxalate plant based diet after being vegan for eight years and eating far too many of the high oxalate healthy foods like spinach nuts cocoa sweet potatoes mand avocados. I’ve had gut and really bad digestive issues for years and three days after reducing my oxalate consumption things started to improve so much . I will never not be vegan as it has changed my life for the better but yes l would love to hear him speak with Sally Norton who in my view is too extreme and views plants as the enemy! They are not - we just have to be careful to keep things in balance l think x
If fiber was so crucial to gut health , carnivores would not be thriving. The problems must be what both sides take away like...... proccessd foods . Cakes, pies, sodas, etc.......
This is because eating carnivore starved the bacteria that can process fiber. If you had a Viome fecal test you would discover this. In recent Stanford cross over twin study it was found whole food plant meals lengthened Telomeres in as little as 6 weeks!
Wow fascinating, i gave up eating potatoes as i had issues digesting them, they literally get stuck , seem to effect my peristalsis!?!? But i will reintroduce some jacket potatoes. I took this slow approach to adding sauerkraut to my diet and i am now able to eat sauerkraut a few times a week.
great interview and analogies 👏🏼 I have horrendous IBS and have spent a fortune over the years and finally ended up on an elemental diet for 3wks plus antimicrobial herbs. It made things SO much worse. Beyond belief. Naturopaths should be banned from “diagnosing” SIBO. Over the past 20 yrs I’ve gone from low fodmap to paleo, to basically keto bcos I couldn’t digest anything anymore. Im gradually trying to turn this ship around and trying Dr B’s advice! It all makes sense and i think the going low and slow is where I’ve previously gone wrong. Broken knee! Dont sit on that couch 🛋️
Went on a 100% animal based diet about 2 years ago. Completely healed my gut issues in less than a week. Any time I try to reintroduce any plant fiber, my gut reacts badly. So I'm not advocating anything, just telling what my experience has been.
Well of course your gut isn’t doing well. You don’t have the gut bacteria yet to process that fiber. It’s like saying “I tried deadlifting 500 pounds first try, didn’t work”. You need to work up to it
I’m really enjoying the podcast! But with all do respect, please stop with all the ummm hmmm’s 😩. We know you are listening and the best interviewers are silent while guests speak. I’m really really not trying to be rude, it just makes it very hard to listen too.
Her Uh-hums interrupt him constantly making it harder to focus on what he is trying to say to us. It's also a very competitive behavior. She's competing w him to be "the star" of the broadcast!
I had a tumor in my pituitary when I was young, I forgot to take my replacement drugs that keeps me going and I was taken to a hospital in LA and they didn't listen to my wife and decided to nuke my gut biom and I was just a big poop machine, eventually the nurses decided my wife wasn't lying and started giving me my normal med and in a week I got better with C. Diff, now I am taking supplements with lots of bacteria for my gut, I don't really know what I'm doing but I try to eat lots of soup and as many different food as I can find, I just ate chicken stew with about 6 plants
25:20 there's no way I registered dietitian is some kind of great thing. The years before my wife passed away the oncologist gave us a dietitian at the hospital who was just worse than worse about what foods my wife needs and what she should avoid. That dietitian suggested sugar as a good thing more so than a bad thing... And I'm not just hung up on that one thing that woman said. She would promote canned foods and the problems I saw about her advice went on and on and on. Very discouraging when you're trying to save someone's life who you love. When someone is influenced strongly because you're scared to follow your doctor's advice, the doors that were previously never really open are going to stay shut on a better ways to explore ideas.
I understand what you are saying but please don't put all us dietitians in the same basket. You may also visit with a doctor that isn't very good but that does not mean none of them are good and you will never see a doctor again. You just keep looking for the right one.
I am so sorry about your wife . You are correct that sugar ( I assume you mean table sugar) is the wrong thing to promote, ESPECIALLY for a cancer patient. As fAr as dietary advice I don't recommend doctors unless they have additional training beyond medical school. About 75 percent of docs get no training in nutrition, many doctors will tell you nutrition was ridiculed in med school as less important than drugs/ surgery. If you are searching for someone look for training in functional medicine. You may need to study nutrition yourself to sort out the varying nutritional claims.
I think it pointing more to your microbiome can shift overnight depending on how much sleep youve had , stress ,what you ate that night , of course it changes continually (, context )and yes it takes time to heal certain GI symptoms , every body is different in thier healing journey.
One thing you never talk about is industrial , food and pesticides. Turkish colleague who has ibs csnt eat beans in UK but beans you pick from field in Turkey, he said were fine. Autoimmune disease also corresponds to the time when more pesticides started to be used in 80s. Any advise? Is it the elephant in the room?
Very cool discussion folks. I think a really valid reason as to why people experience gut issues and I've experienced them myself is the emotions, anxieties, traumas people are working through, fear, all sorts of emotions though. You may have an experience where you feel like you've quite literally been kicked in the gut. fast paced lives, having to rush or fit into tight schedules, relationship woes. All these things can impact your gut tremendously. but what I find helps is regular walking or swimming, bike riding or gardening, working on interesting projects, eating healthily, I find meditating daily is a good one too. So many contributing factors when it comes to your gut health. Not just a healthy diet and exercise, so many things. Thank you for the interesting information.
The key is diagnosis, after an ER visit they said Acute Diverticulitis after C.T scan, lots of diarrhea so I walked away with 1 week of antibiotic. After 2 weeks finally got to see Gastro and still feeling slight pain she order another round of Ciprofloacin w/Metronidazole, which induces diarrhea, so after a week of fasting and introducing low fiber still have diarrhea, from meds?
I can empathise, I have DVT as well. Antibiotics kill the infection but also a lot of the “good guy” bacteria. I think we should be offered fecal transplants to fix the problem.
Very helpful I’m in my journey to healing my flare up with gastritis I was miserable but fiber is the key to feeding your gut like collard green kale and sauerkraut is great and kefir
Fantastic! Love Dr. Will. I learn something new every time I listen to him and he gives hope and strategies to get better. Very empowering. The pacing of the interview was perfect! Glad to have found your channel.🩷 Thank you.😍
Thank you for this channel and this interview. Good stuff. Advice if you want it to be better. Knock off the “mhm” every 5 seconds. I know you want to show you’re an active listener, but it is distracting AF as a listener, and quite annoying. Would be 10x easier to listen to without all the active listening noises. Thanks!
This is the first time I’ve watched one of your interviews and the first thing I noticed is that while you’re listening to Will you are regularly responding to his points with ahah (or perhaps mhmm) which comes over the sound track very clearly and I found really intrusive and made it very hard for me to listen. Will is a great person to interview (I have his book Fibre Fuelled) and I was really interested in the subject of your interview and would find it a lot easier to listen to Will speaking without feedback. Thanks.
Ok so i theoretically have sibo (tested positive with breath teat) with diarrhea, bloating, and food sensitivities as my main symptoms. Dr B says to test for Celiac, crohns, microscopic colitis, ibd. We have all came back normal. So did a colonoscopy, endoscopy, and gastric emptying study. So now what still have symptoms
This is frustrating for sure. Sometimes testing can be so helpful and other times it is not. Just expensive. What are your symptoms - do you mind if I ask?

See Zoe Harcombe PhD for an alternative view about fiber. We all have individual DNA. Clearly some people with IBS or even IBD have had very much reduced symptoms of these conditions when they stopped consuming fiber. Ther is no dietary minmal requirement for fiber. Many people on carnivore diets seem to have perfectly normal bowel function and avoid constipation if they consume enough fat.
Can you please share anything on carnivore diet. Some with ibs issues follow it, and many people report being on it for years. What are the impacts on gut biome? Thanks.
the problem with the carnivore diet is that people tend to just throw back some foods, then get pain and problems, you have to micro dose like feeding a baby again when you have not eaten plants for a while. I ate a bag of edamame beans once, and nearly exploded. one bean. not 30. that sort of thing.
I went on keto/carnivore two months ago and my anxiety has reduced significantly, my long-term chronic digestive issues have totally disappeared and my inflammation has reduced. Still too early to give it 10/10 yet. I prefer to think for myself what is best for my health rather than believe what I am told to think by people often with vested interests.
Carnivore made me very sick. Three weeks on crazy carnivore diet non stop diarrhea. Thank God! I am no longer on carnivore. Not fully recovered yet my gut health is still not where it was before trying crazy carnivore. For anyone who is considering crazy carnivore make sure you are fully aware of the side effects.
@@Virgo921 There are some people who rush into a diet without transitioning slowly. You can't just rush into carnivore and expect it to work wonders. I spent two years cutting out various carbs, starting with highly sugared food, especially ultra processed ones. Even so when I began going 80% carnivore a few months ago I had stomach issues at first for about 5 days. But the results since have been impressive. My anxiety levels have dropped significantly, the inflammation in my lower back has reduced a little and my chronic constipation ended several months whilst transitioning by cutting down on fibre and raisng my stomach acidity level. I love these side effects. Research is important. If you couldn't drive a car you wouldn't expect to be able to jump in one and start driving properly right away, so why should people expect to jump into carnivore and feel great from day one?

Cut out all ultra processed foods including seed oils and reduce your sugar intake (including fruit) as much as you can. That is the only diet advice you need.
Doesn’t talk about gut brain connection, doesnt talk about how our produce today is garbage, doesnt talk about anything to do with healing your gut in “24 hours.”
No you did not cure it, you only reduced your symptoms. Curing the gut issues would mean you Can eat EVERYTHING now, and it seems like, judging by your comment, that you cannot. So nothing is cured.
@@tracey-louiserobson8995 Yes but I do have some plant food (about10% as well. All low sugar. No grains, no beans, very little fruit. Avocados, nuts, sauerkraut, broccoli and cauliflower. @@kj_H65f Good question. I believe that some plant food may be healthy for me (whether it is for others is up to them to decide) as long as it is in small amounts and not containing high levels of sugars and/or antinutrients. I do often go without any fibre at all sometimes depending on how I feel at the time. I also like to experiment from time to time to see if something agrees with my gut. Probiotics which contain good gut bacteria may also help the gut to crowd out the bad bacteria that most people have without realising it. So that is why I sometimes have a little sauerkraut as well as kefir and bio-yoghurt.

Merci, très informatif. Comme je le pensais la constipation chronique crée ce gonflement des intestins. Mais à 54 ans et une forte hypothyroidie, je n’ai toujours pas trouvé la solution. Bonne journée et merci si vous pouvez m’aider
Beware if you have SIBO small intestinal bacterial overgrowth which includes bloating sometimes nausea sometimes Gerd and diarrhea or constipation depending on what kind you have. Legumes will rock you as well onions and garlic in most cases and foods that are not on the high fodmap foods. Are used to eat tons of cruciferous vegetables as I have been constipated since a kid and it took many many years to figure out that’s what helps if I eat it in the evening. Now that I have SIBO I cannot tolerate them anymore. If this good Dr has an answer for SIBO, methane very difficult to treat because it’s really archae, I would love to hear his recommendations thank you
Your videos are very informative. Are soil based probiotics beneficial? I've ordered Youth&Earth Probiotic which contains Bacillus Subtilis HU58, Bacillus Coagulans SC208 and Bacillus Clausii SC109. Spore based probiotics are very controversial since it's opponents claim that they are not naturally found in human gut and if they cause infection, it's very difficult to treat it because they form spores. I'm really confused, please guide me
Not fair that good doctors decided they don’t wanna practice anymore for whatever reason and stop seeing patients and then those of us who’ve been sick for 30 years that need a doctor like him can’t find one
Because they have to go by say NHS rules while practising in GP surgeries and hospitals. Doctors aren't trained or aren't allowed to treat patients with food and natural things. It's a money making industry. Soon as your cholestoral goes high statins they are told to give. Pills to take away symptoms.

I would agree with a majority of what Dr Will advises, but then I am warned against generalities and cite the case of Dr J Peterson and his daughter that only eat red meat. Plants (a combination of both fibre and natural toxins) were making her extremely sick and she stumbled on red meat as the antidote. That works for her. The moral of the story is educate yourself about your digestive system (from mouth to anus) and understand what YOU need as this a personal story.
Carnivore can heal, but should only be used for a short period of time, as he said, you have to introduce plant foods back slowly so your microbiology can be diverse and healthy
Sadly there are no integrated GI docs in my area. An internal medicine integrative physician ordered the breath test, which came up as barely positive for methane SIBO, and I believe the antibiotics and the low FODMAP diet made things worse. I am now working with a plant-based integrative RD trying to get off this roller coaster. What do you think of the TrioSmart breath test as opposed to the standard breath tests? Also, where does candida fall in this equation? I was treated with an anti-fungal following a candida diagnosis during an endoscopy, but no small bowel jejunum aspirate snd still have symptoms :-(
True about antibiotics I took antibiotics for my H pyorie which also coursed me to bloat. The symptoms of the H - Pylori went but after the treatment of the Antibiotucs I now suffer with intense heart burn it is as if the Antibiotics killed off the good soldiers in my stomach and have left me with the bad guys. Started to do clean eatting to try and get my tummy back to normal. But running out of patience Any ideas
May i ask why you never discuss how skin conditions are linked to the micro biota. I have been trying to cure a fungal condition for a long time. Stool results show zero yeast just low S.iga and low Butyrate producing bactria. There a link there?

And now, here are the top 10 gut foods:
Fruits 🍎: Rich in fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants, fruits promote gut health and aid digestion.

We were nervous as heck but it worked!
amazing, i cant digest fiber for now, because of sibo, i am on gaps intro now..is the family member now ok?

I’m so thankful for receiving this type of information to help guide me back to a healthy gut like I had when I was young.
Took some very expensive antibiotics when I tested positive on a SIBO test. Did absolutely nothing, felt no difference. Now I know why. Thanks Dr. B.

L-Glutamine!

What kind of diet has helped this?
@@sectionalsofaExcellent Response
I feel the same way 😫

@@evedeary307 She is not extreme, she just know what oxalates do..but if person has healty gut, then it is not a problem

Scary advice
I know several people that have had the same experience
I think it pointing more to your microbiome can shift overnight depending on how much sleep youve had , stress ,what you ate that night , of course it changes continually (, context )and yes it takes time to heal certain GI symptoms , every body is different in thier healing journey.

Excellent podcast. Thank you, Sarah 💚🧡💜
17:13 "low and slow is the tempo" LMAO, but this is so good!!!
24 hours? Impossible. Your information is valid, but fixing your gut is a long long long journey. It took me a year.
Interesting! What did you do to fix your gut?
Can you please share anything best worst practices for H pylori

L-Glutamine, heal your gut first.
Some below questions partially answered anyway later in video. What about farting with odor and farting without odor. What do these indicate?
Very helpful I’m in my journey to healing my flare up with gastritis I was miserable but fiber is the key to feeding your gut like collard green kale and sauerkraut is great and kefir
Kale is the one thing that inflames my gut!
Lightly steamed greens (and raw arugula) save my gut.
Celiac, IBS , fermentation deadly to us..ucant just POP A PILLw probiotics..
Try juicing cabbage and apples when you have flare ups - this was the only thing that helped me!
Deadly to me w food sensitivities, hi histamine, ins d😥
I'll tell everyone about you *MR OBALAR* coming across your UA-cam channel was a blessing, I'm free from hpv, victory at last.
Fantastic! Love Dr. Will. I learn something new every time I listen to him and he gives hope and strategies to get better. Very empowering. The pacing of the interview was perfect! Glad to have found your channel.🩷 Thank you.😍
My body is so much smarter than me, it always knows what it needs. I just have to listen and obey, hey?
Yes I agree
Wow, When I eat certain foods I start burbping and it's obvious that's indigestion and Inflation causing it, so I wasn't too convinced on his answer.
What are the six foods?
that will be covered in next podcast.....which will be 3 hours long 😂
I remember in my child hood we would have 2 vegies and patatoes each meal.
Same here. We always had a yellow vegetable and a green vegetable, along with a potato and meat or fish. 😊
Thanks!
So true, it was very irritating listening to that on audio.. very useful information though.
I agree. It was distracting.
Yes, Joe. At least her voice is lovely.
Stress
Look into artichoke and ginger extract. From the research I’ve done it’s the treatment that most people have had success with to improve SIBO.
This is frustrating for sure. Sometimes testing can be so helpful and other times it is not. Just expensive. What are your symptoms - do you mind if I ask?
@@Wendy-Frazier diarrhea, painful bloating, and food sensitivities. So many food sensitivities I never had before. Used to have an iron gut. Almonds, eggs, dairy, corn, watermelon, salsa, beans, salad greens particularly ones like arugula and spinach. dragon fruit. That's all that's coming to mind at the moment.
@@stacylitwin86 oh man. I am so sorry you're suffering so much. This makes every day really hard and prob starts to feel really hopeless. I am in the process doing some research trying to put some helpful resources together to try to serve my community better. Would you ever be open to hopping on a zoom so I can ask you some questions and get a better picture of what it's like for you day to day?
I don't agree with most of what's being said but I do agree about the social media and young people. Even for myself as an older person I believe that it removes people's ability to relate to other people in person. So young people especially have become very selfish rude and uncaring towards other people! The older Generations can manage a better because they have the social skills that they learned before social media came out
So give a patient an antidepressant which can cause stomach trouble akathisia and a host of other issues. Do u tell the patient this. Cuz my drs didn’t and now they are yelling at me and blaming me because I am sick and I’m on antidepressants. No matter what I do to get help it’s always my fault. I was even put on Miralax took it couldn’t go for 8 weeks had to go to the hospital accused of doing drugs sent home and then had the doctor yell at me because I wouldn’t take the Miralax anymore. I don’t trust doctors anymore. Especially because when I do find one who will really help me they don’t take insurance. God help you if you’re poor.
Havy tried benefiber it is the simplest i find but i am just starting so it kind of sticks sometimes then i buy tart cherry juice and it loosens it the dr said to drink lots of water too so water content versus the fiber may very well be a part of. Is miralaz magnesium if if is try the calm . A pt female that deals with post pregnancy and pelvic floors knows constipation and that type of calcium can have some pain but will make you go.
@@dawncolayco9340 I appreciate that but I now have gastroparesis from the meds. U can’t take fiber with that. Magnesium made me swell so bad I almost had to go to the Er. I am low in magnesium and tried to get my GI to give me IV magnesium but she just told me to eat a salad after telling me not to eat solid food and eat baby food. Now she’s mad because I won’t have an endoscopy but she refuses to test for Sibo yeast SIFO or anything so why bother.
Sorry, but I didn 't hear, how to heal gut in 24 hours?
Same
Where to get human grade probiotics? I am immune suppressed
What are the foods ?
Great video very informative. Thank you.
So if one suspects he has SIBO, would you recommend a low FODMAP diet? It seems restrictive.
Check out Dr William Davis book "Supergut" for SIBO. Lots of interviews on UA-cam. Great info on treating SIBO yourself without expensive medical interventions.
I would like to hear this doctor comment on the taking of diatomaceous earth internally.
Please stop saying "mhmm". I can't listen to a podcast with a host who does so. It's very distracting. Morning is a good way to actively listen without disrupting the flow and information shared by your guests
I like her mmmm
Keto and carnivore diets destroy you gut microbiome where 80% of your immunity resides. And they increase your chances of DYING by o er 30%. ua-cam.com/video/gzeP1obBe30/v-deo.htmlsi=rrzR2HzuTXQuEU5n

Just said exactly the same thing. Distracting.
Very frigging annoying. I just turned it off
Same here. I had to stop the video.
"Fiber Menace" is a great book. Fiber can csuse a lot of health problems, too.
What kind of problems?
I never had gut issues until covid hit. I ad to get vaccinated to go to Mexico to pursue my residency. Could covid had been a factor? I also came back from Mexico 2020 of February with covid symptoms very sick. This is where my gut trauma began. Doctors aren't helpful. I've spent two years watching podcast like yours. I believe I've helped, but not totally. I do know stress, sleep, and environment is crucial. I'm looking for a dietician and doctor in Vancouver and Washington. I also have had huge trauma. Help
SeeBYRON HERBALIST in Aus, gives stepby step healing, doesn't do usa
Just change your diet radically!
probably got a bout of parasites or poisoning in Mexico. get your poop tested. see a parisite-ologist.
Cut out all ultra processed foods including seed oils and reduce your sugar intake (including fruit) as much as you can. That is the only diet advice you need.
I relate to that so much i got ibd when covid came 2020
Cooked and cooled rice is also a good resistant starch
Do you support FODMAP diet? I wonder because I’m thinking of doing it
Yes he does, he goes into it in lots of detail and with recipes in his Fibre Fuelled Cookbook
Yes, but he looks at it as a temporary elimination diet, gradually adding back one high FODMAP food at a time to determine which is the culprit.
@@sectionalsofa Because there are so many plants (and dairy) that could be the root cause of your gut issues.
Gr8 point on the fight or flight
Doesn’t talk about gut brain connection, doesnt talk about how our produce today is garbage, doesnt talk about anything to do with healing your gut in “24 hours.”
I cured my chronic gut health after 40 years by cutting out most fibre and ultra processed food including all 'vegetable' oils.
No you did not cure it, you only reduced your symptoms.
Curing the gut issues would mean you Can eat EVERYTHING now, and it seems like, judging by your comment, that you cannot.
So nothing is cured.
Interested . What is your regular diet is is more carnivore ?
@@tracey-louiserobson8995 Yes but I do have some plant food (about10% as well. All low sugar. No grains, no beans, very little fruit. Avocados, nuts, sauerkraut, broccoli and cauliflower. That's about it other than (mainly red) meat, eggs and some dairy. I am not saying this diet will be permanent for me (only been 2 months now) but while it is working so well for me I will carry on.
@@dennisward43if fiber is the problem why are you doing 10%? Why not 0%
@@kj_H65f Good question.
The MEGA microphone industry is doing pretty well…Do these UA-camrs really need them?
I lost my patience with interview videos. Only one person there is more than enough.
Merci, très informatif. Comme je le pensais la constipation chronique crée ce gonflement des intestins. Mais à 54 ans et une forte hypothyroidie, je n’ai toujours pas trouvé la solution. Bonne journée et merci si vous pouvez m’aider
As patriotism is the last refuge of scoundrels, it's psychological is the last refuge of doctors who don't know what to do about your problem.
I'm really confused, please guide me
Thank you ❤ 🌎 ✌... Very VERY helpful!
FIBER is TERRIBLE to eat when you have SIBO!? What is this guy saying?
How?
Not fair that good doctors decided they don’t wanna practice anymore for whatever reason and stop seeing patients and then those of us who’ve been sick for 30 years that need a doctor like him can’t find one
Because they have to go by say NHS rules while practising in GP surgeries and hospitals. Doctors aren't trained or aren't allowed to treat patients with food and natural things. It's a money making industry. Soon as your cholestoral goes high statins they are told to give. Pills to take away symptoms.
@@Fern_Yaz_Pets_Music yeah well they don’t need to do that if they’re functional and then they can charge what they want which they do anyway
I did a G.I. map test and have overgrowth of lots of bacteria in my gut, going to Gastro doctor tomorrow to hopefully get Xifaxan and nystatin

Clickbait title….very disappointed and the host needs to take those air pods out of her ears if she is so concerned about gut
Candibactin AB & AR has given me clean bowel eliminations lowering FODMAPs. Never constipated or loose to any extreme.
I was treated with an anti-fungal following a candida diagnosis during an endoscopy, but no small bowel jejunum aspirate snd still have symptoms :-(
True about antibiotics
I took antibiotics for my H pyorie which also coursed me to bloat. The symptoms of the H - Pylori went but after the treatment of the Antibiotucs I now suffer with intense heart burn it is as if the Antibiotics killed off the good soldiers in my stomach and have left me with the bad guys.
