+ZeroShitsGiven Most definitely! I love seeing Dave pretty much at peace with his past and present, especially knowing what a tortured soul he was for so many years. I think he's finally gained control over the "demon" inside (for lack of a better description, not an actual demon and I'm not talking about substance abuse either), after struggling with it for most of his life. I think he's in a pretty good place right now.
I know a lot of people think he's a dick (often rightfully so), but I've always seen him as a tortured genius...and yes, often geniuses are arrogant and dickish at times. But I've always liked him and wished the best for him.
I know some of you don't agree, but it is just my opinion...and if you don't like it, go eat a bag of dicks! } ;-)
That was a great interview indeed. It is great when the interviewer has good points to touch and then lets the interviewee do the talking.
For an ex-druggie and alcoholic of like 10 years, Dave actually looks quite healthy and youthful for his age.

We are all born atheist and remain so until religious morons infect the minds of some with their fairy tales or use their heavy handed tactics to force compliance and worship of man made deities. Atheism is simply the lack of belief in gods. Not a movement or a religion, just the lack of belief. No one 'converts' to atheism. They go back to being as they were born. As well they should. No one seems to be able to prove any gods exist outside of story books and the minds of the faithful. I cannot prove any gods do not exist but I dont need to. The one making the claim that their god exists has the burden of proof.
Besides, Dave is a Christian and a believer. Not a devout teetotaling proseyletizing douchebag but still a Christian and a true believer. He just doesn't shout it from the hilltops like some do. He follows the commandment of George Carlin... Keep thine religion to thine self. I wish more people would do that. Dave will profess his faith if someone asks about it but he isn't in anyone's face about it. I'm way cool with that. Christians often say that's the Bible commands them to spread the word to others. But I couldn't care less what the Bible says . The Bible is just a book. A book of folklore. David Berkowitz claimed that his neighbor's dog told him to kill people. Doesn't mean he should have gone out and done it. A book says you're supposed to go out and annoy people with your fairy tales that are unverifiable bullshit, unless you're crazy you don't do it
Really? I find him to be a bit of a historical revisionist and a spin doctor. To listen to him now, you'd think he had always been the nicest, most righteous, guy in the world.
I'd find it more refreshing if he admitted to a few misguided and misinformed acts, like the 'dedicated to the cause', Antrim, incident and admitted that it was because he was a fucking asshole at the time.
They kicked him out of Metallica, he says, in that shite Metallica movie, 'without a second chance'. Lars Ulrich (another asshole but he never really gave it up) rubbing his eyes and face like he was very, very tired of this from David. David had probably had a hundred chances before they told him to fuck off.
Another transparent and tiresome historical revisionist, is Thomas Tom G. Gabriel Fischer Warrior (or whatever combination of those words he chooses to call himself now) out of Celtic Frost. He can be a bit of a self-agrandising diddy to hear and read from too.
Both are musical geniuses at what they do, though. So I really don't care what they say, either way.
I'm not into the cult of personality. It's musical imagination and creativity that I like.

Nick is awesome! When I heard he died I Couldn't believe it, he was just so young and so normal. No conditions or anything like that. He personally was my favorite Megadeth drummer. That whole era was just cool records. Especially on their cover album when he just kept laying down the beat after Paranoid. Also ironic and sadly funny he had a heart attack in a venue called the Baked Potato.

Josh Stephens Hanging out with the fans doesn't mean he's down to earth. I'll tell you an example. Joey de Maio from Manowar (a band that i hate) has done everything for his fans but he is the total opposite of a down to earth guy.

I could literally take 3 hours straight of an interview with Dave. It's just so fun to watch.
I really think Dave get's the shit end of the stick when it comes to publicity a lot, you only usually here when he makes an off color comment, but you never hear about interviews like this where he's genuinely open and honest, letting people get to know him, even though he's a written a book about all of this, and letting the interviewer get personal with him, just to appease fans, i think Dave's a great guy who just get's a bad wrap, thank you for the many years of great music and dedication to fans, Dave it's does not go unappreciated.

It's good to see that most comments on a video with an interview with Dave are so positive! I don't think I've ever seen that before, at least with this many comments. Usually, it sparks a "Dave's an asshole and Metallica is better" or, "Megadeth is better than Metallica" bullshit argument. I for one, have enough love for both amazingly talented bands despite their faults and sometimes abrasive personalities.

Right I look at Megadeth and Metallica as brother bands, Megadeth is the younger brother of Metallica and they fight like brothers and they get along like brothers. I don't side in one camp or the other, Metallica is my 3rd favorite band but I still like Megadeth their music is pretty cool and Dave and Marty, and the guys in Megadeth made some badass metal.

I've met Dave. He's a really honest guy, very down to earth. Seeing him here, he's losing his voice. He was very soft spoken when I met him, but his speaking voice has really changed. For the record, he's not as much of an asshole as has been printed. He was very nice, polite, intelligent and humble. He speaks his mind in interviews, but in person, he was one of the nicest big named musicians I've ever met. Dimebag Darrell still holds the record for coolest musician I've ever met(hung out with).

I really enjoyed both parts of this interview. Dave Mustaine could be the biggest asshole sometimes but he has such a high level of self awareness and you just can't ignore that no matter what, the man keeps it real. You can sense just by the way he talks and explains things that he's pretty much seen it all.
Dave is such an intelligent man, it is clear in his lyrical writing.
He is so well spoken in interviews, and so fantastic in his music.

A lot of people take dave the wrong way, once he's relaxed and talking to a person, one on one basis, he's a nice down to earth bloke, he speaks his mind, sometimes very blunt with people, he's one of those people who likes to talk to a person on the same level, bowing down and worshiping him as some sort of god is one thing that anoys him, he used to take advantage of the "boot lickers"! And talk dow to them, but hes grown alot as a person since the 90's. I hope i get another chance to chat with him again in my lifetime as he's got alot to say and good stories to tell. All the best.

Wow, I'm really glad I watched this video. I've been fighting with my doctors over problems with my left hand for a few years now and I'm having basically the same problem Dave Mustaine has even down to feeling that same part of my hand. My left hand is wasting away. Now I actually have something to call this problem and I know what to tell the next doctor AND that a TENS unit could help. Thanks Dave Mustaine! Seriously.

Dave, do you remember playing in New Zealand, 1991-92 . The Band did a meet and greet in a record shop on Queen street in Aucland. I rocked up with a drawing I did of Vic Rattlehead. The band signed it. Marty, Nic, Dave and finally you. When it came to your turn to apply your signature you said I couldnt do that. It was a copywrite issue. I told you to just sign it. You did.
