I think it's more about the bullshit that Phil was spreading in the press about Dime. They then saw the gunman go behind the drumset, looking for him. I've never really heard anyone acknowledge that.
Jeremy Miller Yes, I know. But Vinnie's behavior has seemed to imply that he believes Phil was a contributing factor to Dime's death. He would know more about the investigation into the killer's motives than any of us, and since it seems he may think it rational that some of Phil's defamatory statements played a role, we're not much in a position to question it. We don't know what he knows. But then again, we don't know for sure that he blames Phil in any way for it - we can only guess, as his bitterness towards him seems a bit too excessive for it to have been born exclusively of whatever went on between them 20 years ago.
I'm not saying forgiveness wouldn't probably have been a better option, just that people aren't in much of a position to decide he's irrational when there are bound to be parts of the story we don't know.

When we toured with pantera and type negative it was a blast those 26 shows where the best. Sadly I had to quit drumming due to injury but I am so glad I got to meet this man. I am going to start uploading more old videos of us
Superman23 that was what people loved about Vinnie and Dime. They Really were Humble and Cool guys. They treated people like they were their equals. They remembered where they came from and what it took to get there. I’ve never heard even one story where either of them treated a fan or up and coming musicians like they were ‘above’ them. The music world lost 2 of the best guys ever when we lost the Abbott brothers.💕
I caught one of vinnies sticks at mayhem fest, we were front row for hellyea, we literally made eye contact and he threw it to me personally. Still have it to this day.
Nigel Fortune it is man but he doesn't need to be a douche and blame dimes death on Phil. I feel like dimebag would have wanted them to come together and fix things after the tragedy and all vinnie is doing is making Phil feel like shit for what happened and that's not right.
Nigel Fortune I completely agree with Anselmo being an asshole, but he is not to blame from Dimebags death! Its security that should get all the hate for allowing a person up on stage
Never met the guy (seems like everyone else did though, according to UA-cam comments), but from his interviews, he seemed like an incredibly nice man who I imagine was loved by everyone he came in contact with. And what a ripping, tight, brilliant drummer. Same goes for his brother. Van Halen!
I absolutely loved this man. As a former drummer myself, this man, TO ME, was the only drummer I could pick out from his sound. He had such a uniques sound and style, and having to watch some a-hole murder his brother and other folks was horrifying. God bless you Vinnie! R.I.P.
Phil wanted Dime to be "beaten severely". He only changed his mind when Dime was murdered. Phil had bad intentions right to the end, if Dime was still alive they'd still be fighting (nothing against Phil, he's awesome)
And Phil openly admitted he F'd up when saying that and tried to make amends with Vinne, but Vinne simply won't let it go. Frankly this is more of Vinnes problem than Phils, sure what Phil said was wrong, but he owned up to it, Vinnes stubborn refusal to let this go, frankly, is childish. He needs to move on and let this go.
Unforgiveness is like drinking poison and hoping the other person dies. Vinnie needs to bury the hatchet. There's really no reason to tarnish the legacy of Dime and Pantera, by Vinnie and Phil fighting over shit. And it's not even Phil fighting, through all this BS, he still loves Vinnie. Pantera was more than just a band. It was a Brotherhood of 4 guys making shit happen.
RIP, Remember them bouncing around Tx in the 80s, like a poison, kiss, scrops type band with the hair & spandex then they got Phil. What can you say, home boys made it big & then shite happens. I guess they won't be chasing my next girlfriend anymore. See you soon Vinnie. :(
There is a shocking similarity between John Petrucci and Vinnie Paul recently. Both of them are incredible gentlemen as well. R.I.P Mr. Paul, tell Dime that we said hello.
His brother, his soul mate, his best friend and his partner in crime 🤘. Can't imagine how hard it must be to learn to live with that, I suspect that with the help of the ol' bottle, he never really did :(
“Unforgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.” Vinnie likely would lived longer if he hadn’t harbored so much hatred in his heart for Phil. And it’s sad that he never forgive him, not for Phil’s sake but for himself.
If anything of that sort killed Vinnie it was the years with his brother he lost. And it isn't as if Dime died in his sleep or of some OD, he was murdered 3 feet away from him. Lot of survivor's guilt, lot of trauma. If I were Vin I'd have done the same. Anyone can theorize what they want, but only Vin has the perspective on it he does. Many people lost friends and family that night, but Vin had to watch.
@@jetcheneau5811 Vinnie wasn’t the only person to have a sibling murdered so that’s not a good excuse to blame it on Phil who had nothing to do with Dimebag’s murder.
I was super excited for this video when it popped up in my feed. He is one of my favorite drummers. Then I looked in the comment section... I Don’t know how I missed he was gone but I have been under a rock for a while. A buddy of mine and I both wanted to go to the show where Dime was killed but I had to work so we both decided not to get tickets. A few years later I ended up living 100 yards from the venue. There’s a big bolder by the parking lot entrance that says RIP DIME in spray paint. When it fades, someone stops by and repaints it.
I think it would be awesome if Vinnie had Phil do one of Dimes last Damageplan tracks. Phils voice fits Dimes playing better than almost anyone else's and it would be awesome to hear a song that gets super close to Pantera.
I know but I would just love to hear one more, and of course like I said, Phils voice and Dimes playing works the best because they were together for a very long time.

anyone else find it strange that when he first mentions dime the camera goes out of focus? 0:59
His ghost
Jason Scaparo call the Scooby gang
I've seen stranger things to be honest.
Andy so have I, it’s a good show
No?
I like how polite Vinnie Paul is about not wanting to talk about performing with Philip Anselmo. He's probably sick of hearing about it, but he's nice enough to not be a prick about it either.
Orrrrrrr he could just bury the hatchet like a man and stop being asked about it????
@@oneox958 too late now :'(
@@willarterberry3392 and I bet holding onto that anger and hatred all these years played a part in his untimely death.
RIP Vinnie Paul..We miss you!!R.I.P. Dime Always be in our heart..6-24-18..Much Respect & Love from New Orleans Louisiana..☆ Opal..Very Much Missed by many..Love yall..Much Respect & Love from New Orleans Louisiana..☆ Opal
Was scrolling through saw this and it bummed me out until I watched it and it was nice to hear him chat. RIP dude. X
Vinnie 😪 Dime 😪 it's just never going to be the same without y'all. Heavy. Just feeling heavy spirited after watching this. God Bless you bro's.
When we toured with pantera and type negative it was a blast those 26 shows where the best. Sadly I had to quit drumming due to injury but I am so glad I got to meet this man. I am going to start uploading more old videos of us
I love that Vinnie acknowledges Rebel Meets Rebel, such an underrated side project.
Aw, damn, that cook book would have been the perfect christmas present for my boyfriend.
Line M B I can be your boyfriend baby.
Man you can see the mood drop right off his face when he brought up damageplan. That's just heart wrenching
Love hearing Vinnnie talk , you could always get a sense that he was a good human being and completely genuine
So, should Donny Sour should get "I named the band pantera" on his head stone?
Fuckin A Rite!!!!
RIP. 😭😭😭😭
Vinnie Paul looks like one really humble, and cool dude in this video. R.I.P Vinnie Paul 🤘🤘
@@Pez2176 yep 👍 R.I.P Dime and Vinnie may they Rock In Paradise and may they never be forgotten 🤘🤘
Wonder, now that both are gone, if we'll ever hear those 5 tracks...
I caught one of vinnies sticks at mayhem fest, we were front row for hellyea, we literally made eye contact and he threw it to me personally. Still have it to this day.
Wow what a cool guy! So tragic what happened to his brother..
McCarthy Reptiles what you "feel" has nothing to do with it
P Jn the guy showed up and started shooting four people died and multiple others were shot
Nigel Fortune and now he is gone😢
"It will before the end of time" well....
😢
Deity
I'm crying while watching right now. R.I.P my inspiration!😭😭😭
Same.
Vinnie and Dime together with Lemmy in Valhalla rocking up above R.I.P man
Rest in peace vinnie , your and dimes band pantera helped me through alot of times , so thank you brother
Man.. Chris Cornell will never sing on those unreleased Damageplan recordings.. RIP
Is that an Axl Rose candle in the background?
thekenmatax Jesus him self AKA BIG KITTY
Vinnie went through the cemetery gates way to soon. R.I.P. Big Vin! Blacktooth forever. Be with dime brother.
thekenmatax Phil and Axl disliked eachother quite a bit. Maybe after Vinnie and Phil fell out Vinnie became an Axl fan.....
Beaky Turf that's in the loudwire studio
Rest In Peace Vinnie.
sorry for your loss. have a blessed new year in 2023.
His unwillingness to forgive Phil is only hurting himself.
tMattLZ he has a damn good reason not to man
I agree with you
Phil wanted Dime to be "beaten severely".
Sad fact:
*The only one who never had a fact or fiction vid on the band is Dimebag*
A super sad fact..
Hard to believe that he's gone...
The Loudwire guy always does a really good job interviewing people
RIP, Remember them bouncing around Tx in the 80s, like a poison, kiss, scrops type band with the hair & spandex then they got Phil.
I wish I could've met Dime or even gone to a Pantera concert man, these guys are so cool🤘🏻
Rest in peace man. Been rockin to your music my whole life.
Vinnie was such a lovely guy. I really want the cookbook! RIP man.
I felt real bad for Vinnie having to watch his brother die in front of him
His brother, his soul mate, his best friend and his partner in crime 🤘. Can't imagine how hard it must be to learn to live with that, I suspect that with the help of the ol' bottle, he never really did :(
Such sweet guys Vinny and Dime were.. Good thing we got their music to remember them by
“Unforgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.”
Vinnie likely would lived longer if he hadn’t harbored so much hatred in his heart for Phil.
You sure it wasn't all the alcohol and unhealthy food?
My God I miss these guys, got me into metal in the late 80's.
R.I.P to both and thank you for everything they brought to my life through their music.
Yeah, we have to keep dreaming on that one.
Should be left in the past.
@@gavingriffitt3478 it wouldn't be Damageplan,It just be Pantera and just throw Rex on bass
