      Thanks! I smoked 4 or 5 pork butts on this grill at once and I didnt use any trays to catch the drips and I didn’t have a grease fire. The trick with this grill is to clean it before each cook

    Good job! You are very methodical and descriptive in your narration. Hope you do some more videos. Am still on the fence. Seems many of the complaints are user error or a temporary learning curve problem. Thanks.

    Great video mate.Thinking about buying one of these, but concerned about ash dust getting on your food when grilling at high temps due to the high fan speeds. Is this a valid concern or not? Appreciate your reply

    A big fan of Weber as have a kettle an genesis gas grill. Great quality and aftersales. Was looking at adding a pellet grill to the fleet but After doing my research have decided the new Weber pellet has some major design issues for a pellet grill. I will wait for a while to see if Weber fix these issues or will buy a Traeger or Broil king pellet.

      I recently got a new weber ex6 the new gen 2. And I have issues with it so is going back to weber. Have you looked into Louisiana grills? I have one and I love it. I have a timberline traeger and its really good too.

    The flavourbar support need to be before the pellet glider mounted, i see you installed it behind the glider so any reason for that ? In the assembling booklet it is also before the glider installed.

    I love Weber grills. I have 40 years of experience with them. I couldn't say a bad word about them... until now.
    My wife bought me the Gen 2 Smokefire. Just put it together yesterday and attempted to season it today.
    On the first attempt, the grill made it to 400F, then smoke started to pour out of the pellet hopper. I poked around the pellets in the hopper and a bunch of them dropped down into the auger feed. Then, the temperature started to drop, and eventually, the grill went into automatic shut-down because the fire went out. I let the unit cool down, cleaned out the firepot, and tried again.
    On the second attempt, the grill only went up to about 200F and went into shut-down mode. I let it cool down until the app told me it was OK to power off.
    I then took everything out of the cooking pot, thoroughly cleaned the burn pot, emptied the pellet hopper, blew out the auger tube with compressed air, vacuumed out all of the ash, and unburned pellets from the bottom of the cooking pot and the grease tray and then made my third attempt at seasoning the grill.
    Third attempt...ditto second attempt. At this point, I just allowed the unit to cool, powered down, unplugged, and covered to protect from expected showers.
    I don't want to deal with this thing anymore. I'm calling Weber on Monday morning and looking into returning this poor excuse for a grill for a refund. I'll base my future opinion of Weber on how they deal with this.
    I don't want to hate on Weber. I have a 12-year-old Weber Spirit gas grill that still operates and cooks perfectly. I've replaced parts here and there over the years, but that's to be expected because I use it a lot.
    I have a WSM I bought used from a neighbor. It heats up quickly and once you get the air vents adjusted, it holds temperature rock solid and smokes to perfection.
    I've literally taken Weber grills out of the trash and used them for years with no issues.
    Everybody fucks up. I'm cool with that, but I'm counting on Weber to do the right thing... We shall see.

    What type of pellets are you using? Have you used non-Weber pellets, if so have you had any issues with the auger?

    • @unclegeorgesbbq1085

      The day I did this video I think I was using pitboss pellets, but Im not sure. I dont use weber pellets often cause they ware very expensive $17 a 20# bag. I really like Lumberjack and B&B pellets good price and very good smoke flavor. But my biggest recommendation with the Smokefire dont use fruity flavor pellets.

    How is the smoke and smell production, is it heavy? And close is it good isolated?

    • @unclegeorgesbbq1085
      @unclegeorgesbbq1085  3 роки тому

      Pellet smokers don’t produce a heavy smoke profile like an offset. But this pellet grill is the one that has the best smoke profile of all the other pellet grills or smokers that I have tried. That “thin blue smoke” BS that Traeger or Rec Tec is selling does not give any smoke at all after 225°

    From what I have seen, people with little to no problems have their pellet slide on top of the flavorizer rack just like you have yours.
    Others with flameouts have their slide tucked under the rack. I guess it allows grease to enter the fire 🔥 pot.

    • @unclegeorgesbbq1085
      @unclegeorgesbbq1085  4 роки тому +1

      Probably, I was playing around with it when I put the grill together, and when I tried placing the slide under the metal frame that holds the flavorizer bars it didnt rested fine.

    Dude removing the safety bracket to keep your hands from going too far down toward the auger - does not have anything to do with the slope of the hopper not being deep enough......the pellets that are around the auger are fine - its the ones that get stuck on the back of the hopper

    • @davidlaperouse4269
      @davidlaperouse4269 4 роки тому +1

      Denali King some people experience a cavity forming above the safety brackets, nothing to do with the slide. That's probably what he wants to avoid.

      It's never marked in the booklet you need to remove it, but it helps when you remove it :). It is there for the EU/US security reasons thats all. Like with so many things to pass the CE label.

    The Pit Boss 850 Competition Series Pellet Grill will out smoke it two to one for less than half the price. And you won't have as much ash encroachment on the Pit Boss either.
