Hixxy - Ivan - Rauno
Pick your favorite
My vote is on Ivan Makarov. I hope he doesn't peak early!
King Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson.
Hixxy
Would be great to see after all these years that Ivan finally gets it 👌🏻💪🏻
Rauno
This is getting monotonous to be honest, because we have seen this multiple times. All the hype in the world is built up to it, just that nobody manages to do it. Lemme know once an event is organized where Thor is confirmed. Peace.
This is their last chance. Thor is going to pull something ridiculous if he gets paid for it next year.
@@thestrongmanhistorian
Agree.
Thor is unbeatable if he really wants to extend the record
All of these are super impressive, but it's still funny that everyone else is nearly killing themselves to hit this one thing whereas Thor does it at RPE9 while still being good at all the other events and moves on
A freak among freaks. Just hard for anyone to be at his level.
Eddie too did 472 in WSM beating thor and Brian and went on to win the comp , probably the biggest stiff bar pull in any comp, and he did it so easy that if had it been matched he would have pulled more, go watch it.
@@Ian-if2lfEddie did it easy but he also got a soft call when locking, not saying his 472.5 where not impressive, but he almost didn't got there.
Thor also has a 472 on the elephant bar, a more difficult lift and he was deep into the 4th ASC event, plus done Raw without figure of 8's
@@antoniocenteno1483the more difficult is subjective, Thors pace of pull on the bendy bar suits him, plus it allows you to be far more from the ground before you are actually pulling the full weight a bit like a partial pull from platform or blocks, its the whip that people struggle with most, which is about timing and speed so needs practice, pretty sure if Eddie had put his mind to it and practiced for a bendy bar he would have pulled records on that too.
@@Ian-if2lfIt doesn't allow you to be far more of the ground at all. It is a higher start yes but you make it sound like a silver dollar deadlift. Brian Shaw himself said on Mark Bells podcast they didn't get the effect they were after because the bar isn't as bendy off the ground as people think. The ASC wanted it to essentially be like the hummer tyre, just a higher pull. That explains why nearly everybody pulls similar or less on the elephant bar than they pull with a standard bar, suit and figure of 8s.
It ain't happening. If you want the record to be broken again, you need to get Hafthor there.
It's a pity the King is not there, but I'm sure he will break it again even if anyone does it or fails at Vegas. Wishing all good luck, but Hafþór is the King.
Also das hat Nirmal echt gut durchgesetzt, dass das jetzt Hafthors neuer Spitzname ist.
Can you crawl any further up is his ass?
And it's a shame deadlift GOAT retired 2017...
But yes, would be great to have Thor also there 💪🏻👌🏻
No doubt he will lift someday again 500+ 👍🏻
Makarov yet again looks great before competition 👌🏻
It won't happen at Vegas. Just a matter of when and where organizers will get it arranged for Hafthor.
@@maxa8838 Did Benni retire in 2017?
Or are you talking about the Eddie "who did it in a so called competition where he called all the shots, on home soil, an hour from home, own bed, own crowd, own enviroment, own bar, own platform, own weights, determined the timing, determined the weight jumps and still didn't lock it out properly after having envisioned his kids being trapped under a bus and almost dying in a puddle of blood" Hall?
Because Thor whooped Eddie EZ.
If they can peak nicely, maybe Ivan or Hicks have a shot. That said, none of them have been able to replicate a pull as impressive as Thor's 470 in training leading up to his 501 pull.
Same conclusion based on Eddie's 465 Kg before 500 WR
hicks has
@@neal520When?
When Thor pulled 501 he had much more in the tank,No way he would have failed that lift with 505 on the bar. But pulling exactly 1kg more than Eddie was the whole point.
Ivan has already tried at least 3 times and failed. Hicksy has a good chance - but I haven't seen any training videos from him for a long time. His last lift was 450kg for 2 and that was over a month ago. Of the two he is more likely to pull it.
Ivan unfortunatley still does not learn his lesson. Lock out is not a problem for him as he can pull well above 500 kg from higher stance, its his leg drive and loosing hip position.
Also he does these strange things like putting weights on middle of the bar doesn't use calibrated plates to get used it Hixxy just uses normal places no added height
I really want to see Hixxy pull it since he really seems like a nice guy and has had a rough year. I do think it’s very unlikely though and this is his last shot before thor puts it out of mortal reach forever
Personally I see Benny's 465 as my all time favourite max conventional deadlift, even tho a handfull of people have pulled more.
512 DOESN'T COUNT IT WAS NOT PULLED FROM THE GROUND
Not happening for any of these men, ever.
People don't realize how being able to pull 490kg isn't close to pulling 500kg+ unless it's quite comfortable. It's not just 10kg. It's 490+10kg. That's another mountain to climb.
Thor obviously has a shot. Nobody else who's currently known to be working towards the 500+ is gonna do it, unfortunately.
Ivan always hyping with them stupid block pulls , then failing in comp like always
512kg from low blocks is frickin crazy though
From what im seeing, 501kg is not going to be broken. Thor will break it if anybody does
Iron biby pulling 400kg on the fat bar like it was empty is insane.
With only a belt.
Everyone is looking ready💯
Hicks is gonna pull 505
Very impressive, but I have the feeling he won't be able to do 505 from the floor in comp.
Did Drade just dubble 441 heavy ass Kg ??
Yes
Makarov pulled 512kg from 11 inches? And his lockout wasn’t bad
Maybe he’ll break 2 records
Excellent music (Halo:CE was my highschool FPS of choice)
No one is getting it. The only who can do it is Hafthor and isnt even there competeing, for reasons we all know. Hicksy looks like he's the strongest he's ever been but isn't convincingly strong enough for it. When anyone does a smooth triple at 460, or lets say a smooth double at 470, only then do I believe there's room for a 505. Everyone is doing great and they keep getting stronger but they're not there yet. Hicksy has got up to par with Ivan, I would bet they're both around 485-490. Never thought I'd say this after Ivans repeated failures, but he is looking to be the closest of them all this time, but still, not quite there.
I think Thor can make an attempt To go past his PR just a little bit but not much
I hope hixxy will pull it. That 465 pull didn't look as comfortable as i would hope it would. But if anyone beside Thor has a change its him. 💪
I hope they’re just playing some mind games and have some better lifts they didn’t put out. If this is it then I don’t think anyone will get it. 465 needs to fly
Just shows how big it was for Eddie to do it 9?.. years ago, nearly a decade unbeaten in competition, Hicks doesn't seem to be using mats or anything raised for his prep in this vid, so Hicks for me is the one with the chance, and really hoping for it to go right for him.
@@Ian-if2lf Eddie didn't do it in a competition
@@mgu-vx4ib com·pe·ti·tion
[ˌkɒmpɪˈtɪʃn]
noun
the activity or condition of striving to gain or win something by defeating or establishing superiority over others: So even by definition if you have other ''competitors'' you are in a ''competition'' even if you wrongly don't recognise it.
there were other competitors, by definition its a ''Competition''
Ivan is once again forcing me to believe.
But I want Papa Rauno to do it.
No one will even come close to pulling that much weight 😂😂😂😂
Thor, Rauno, Graham and maybe Ragg will pull 500+ kg
If anyone deserves this lift it's gotta be Ivan he's probably attempted it more tes than anyone!
Its the opposite, he doesn't learn from his mistakes and just keeps banging his head on the wall. If Sebastian Oreb, for example, was training him, he would have a solid chance
Ivan gets a pull of 512kg without a suit at less than a 2" block height and ppl tryna act like he can't get 505 suited from the floor is fucking hilarious to me.
Two different type of lifts ya glipe
@@HonkeyKongLive shows what you know, fuck all
Where was he doing that? He has his orange suit underneath his shirt and shorts, look closely and you will notice it
BRO, Ivan does this every year. He got 550KG like 3 years ago and yet no WR
512 was in a suit lol he won't pull 505 from the floor
450 double hixy REALLY HAS a chance he should go 460 dub nxt
The competition is in 10days
Ivan can crash through that barrier and do 510kg
Is it just me or is Makarov’s technique really sloppy compared to other big pullers like Hicks and Rauno? His deadlifts look really uncontrolled and ugly even in the low 400’s, how is he going to manage 505?
512 KG is to much no one can pull that much
Graham Hicks is going to set the record Grahams the man
💪🙂🎉
Hix is the GOAT 🇬🇧
I think hixy and ivin will pull 505
This is obvious watching the peaks. Hixxy's 465 looked rather slow and hitched up top, no way another 40 is in the tank. Ivan of course never learns and just goes balls out to HOPEFULLY get near 505. Do deficits, they were working before.
Eddie made 465 look like a joke before his 500. None of these competitors are close to getting 505. Hicks may be able to get 485 or so if it was an option, same for Ivan. Rauno is also cooked. He's been injured in key places far too many times and still hasn't had a great peak yet coming back.
Graham's painted toenails give him 10% strength
Now show Eddie's lifts to 500kg
I only see 3 people breaking the 501kg deadlift, Thor, Hicks, and Ivan, them 3 imo are the only ones who stand a chance from what we’ve seen from their training though I would be happy if more can instead of 3 people
U forgot to put Krzysztof Wierzbicki in the video lifting 502.5 kg - ua-cam.com/video/Wz_TRJGqz4I/v-deo.html&ab_channel=LiftingVault
He isn’t competing
