Mark Felix is an absolute beast, especially of course considering his age. It goes to show that age isn't a show stopper at all (at least for some anyway, he doesn't let it get to his head and body at all).
Just realized some of these contestants are 29-30 making them younger then me yet they look like they could be my dad . Crazy what they put their bodies through for this . Respect
Will the current crop catch the frontrunner or will it be strength athletes who aren’t in the sport yet who begin to operate at this level. I think the latter. Fitness permitting, it’s hard to see who can close a gap that’s still widening.

Mark Felix (56) and Iron Biby were not participating in the entire competition, only going for the world record in the Hercules hold, which is why they are not included in the score. It would not be fair to compare other athletes who are competing in multiple events and thus have to be judicious with their exertion at each event vs. athletes competing in only one event. Same thing with the log or deadlift world record attempts during these competitions.
@@brandonwatson883 ahh thanks makes perfect sense. Man Felix was SO close. Big fan of him and bibi - would be insane to felix break his own record at 59 or 60 man that is inspiring and honestly I think his chances are BETTER than 50/50 that he breaks it once more
Not taking away anything from Mitch, at all. But i believe the competition is not as it used to be. The fact that Mitch 'dominates' contests can be 2 things: 1. Mitch is really really strong like superman and no one can touch him. 2. The competition is simply not at the level at it used to be, for a meriad of reasons. I believe its reason no 2.
Strongman has a larger talent pool than ever and each year new records are set in pulls and presses. Maybe he has invested more time than others in conditioning, so he has the endurance to hit each event hard? Or maybe the particular mix of events favours his type of athleticism over other types? For a good comparison maybe look at Mariusz - wasnt small but not big like his competition, yet he dominated because he was a total freak and the events, over the full run of them, suited him.
What great performances from the athletes. And a excellent narration from Mr.Hopper in this video. Giants live has a way with making everyone happy and involved.
