How many times do you go to the range and immediately begin hitting the big dog and ignore your wedges? Most people are guilty of the same thing. We get it. But when you are tired from a long day, hitting the big dog is not such a great idea. Listen to your body and take the time to work on becoming an elite wedge player! We know … working on perfecting your wedge technique is not as cool and exciting as it is to launch driver after driver in the air (especially when you tag it perfectly, sending it out there 250+!!!).
However, if you perfect your wedge technique, you will achieve multiple benefits and will be well on your way to becoming an elite wedge player. First and foremost, you will know your distances better therefore removing any uncertainty on the course. Second, by working on your wedges, you will take the heat off your long game because you will know that regardless of what happens, you can stick it close from 100 yards and in. Third, you will give yourself more opportunities to score as well as save strokes!
