I've watched a lot of your videos and they are all pretty good, but this was a paradigm shift. The key to consistency is via repeatability and I cannot think of a way to create better repeatability than this. This will solely be what I focus on for my short game via experimenting with set up changes and keeping swing the same.

Watched this about 10 times and i learn something new each time lol..... This time I learned that the upper body pivot/turn is the MAIN 'driver' of the action and the arms and wrists go along for the ride, which promotes a nice consistent shallow angle of approach into the ball. Such a great lesson!!

Dude, this was so good. I've been spending so much time with the Dan Grieves 3 releases, and this is so much easier for the regular player to technically implement. Love it!

So good. If you watch Short Game Chef he touches on some of the basics of using the body rather than hands but this really hammers home the overall concept - change the easy variables, not the mid-swing ones! Genius

To be fair this was refreshing. It’s body driven but the arms and wrists are allowed to flow naturally. The outcome you require is primarily determined by your set up.
It’s also the only short game lesson I’ve seen on you tube that didn’t mention “ use the bounce “

    • @antap

Out if the rough you can put the ball back a little and have your weight a little left, open the club to suit. Hardpan same deal, ball back a little and don't use sandwedege because of the flange; you want to hit down a bit more.

@@golfslump Great Video! This fits my swing thought much better. What is Grant's standard for the loft to use? Opening a 60° wedge can quickly get to 64° plus, which seems excessive. Using a 56-58° would give the most versatility for using one club.

  • @georgejung5429
    @georgejung5429 Місяць тому

Closed stance, mega flared left foot, ball slightly more toward the back foot, open or slightly close the club face depending on what shot you want to play and go.
You can basically play any shot you want from here.
It’s all about practice, I hit around 2000 pitch shots a week from 90 yards in… sort your takeaway out, if this is wrong you’re wrong, once you do that, it’s a green light…
Practice is a must, don’t play, PRACTICE, you can’t improve any other way….
Get off the couch, stop watching videos and start practicing, you will get better, just be prepared to get worse first. 😂
Took me around 25,000 balls over 3 months to get the FEEL and understand the golf swing, now 90 yards has become my bitch, 80 yards are terrified of me, 70 yards gets hit 8/10 times. 60 & 50 yards sometimes I own them, sometimes I’m left with a bad one which is 16ft from pin, 40-30-20-10 yards is a piece of cake and I play on cow fields, when I go to the range and get to hit off a mat, I’m tour standard.. 😂
I live in England so we don’t get to play off hard fairways, everything is heavy & wet under foot…. It’s gross. 🤮

Fantastic. I know he said it was different but this IS Jason Day's chipping technique.
Day hinges naturally too. Much easier way to contact the ball consistently and find the bounce.
This technique has taken me from being the worst chipper to an above average chipper.
