No wonder everyone's so afraid or intimidated of growing Orchids, most of them are already doomed from the nursery... it's such a shame, but thankfully, there are people such as yourself to help us save them. Or at least try. I can hardly wait to repot my new Orchids, although I'm still intimidated.

I have recently found your channel and although I had thousands of orchids before having to scale back due to my health issues I have never lost the enthusiasm for growing a small handful of my absolute favourites. Since watching this video and many others on your channel I realised that most of my orchids are in very poor condition and need a whole lot of TLC. I have been relying on my husband to do the watering and that has been a bad idea. He is doing his best but I’m afraid it’s time I took control of their care again. Your videos have been invaluable Danni and most of all a wake up call for me to take more interest in the care of my girls again. I love that you refer to them as females, it makes so much sense. Thank you for providing so much great information in your videos, I’m hooked on orchids all over again. Thanks again, keep up the good work, cheers from Australia.

Thank you Danny. I know nothing about Oncidiums or Catlias or any other orchids besides Phals. But I love the flowers so I will be getting some Ons or Cats soon, but first, learn, learn, learn! So thank you Guru Danny! lol

Thank you for this excellent information. I have had an oncidium orchid for a number of years and never realized that I needed to repot it the way you have described here. I rehydrated it, did divide it into 2 plants and have been watering it the way you described above. Now it is doing much better, one of them has bloomed and both are making new roots and new pseudo bulbs in a way they never have before. Thank you for this VERY helpful video and information!

Hi Danny. Yes this was an invaluable repotting showing different situations and problems that can exist within a group and different techniques to remedy that might cover more viewers. You're right about needing two years. My first oncidium the Sherry baby I bought two years ago that was in worst of shape is beginning to spike I discovered this weekend. I almost threw away twice and decided not to give up and though its' spike is wonky will give me a bloom, credit to your vids.

I really enjoyed the bundle repot format! It's nice to see different kinds of issues and how to handle them. It also helps showing how variations of orchids looks like compared to each other. It makes it a lot easier to get a sense of what's normal and what's not.

Loved all the colors and shapes. I am impressed that you continue to acquire expertise and knowledge about orchids. Good for you! Thank you for offering this for our use!

Oh my gosh, I've never seen someone have so much love and care for their orchids. I have always been somewhat cautious of them, because of one bad experience. I bought one once in my past, and it died. They're just so beautiful and somewhat costly, for me to just kill them! However, I have a perfect green thumb on everything else just about. So recently I found an orchid discounted to $15, at my local supermarket. I have had her now for over a month and she's just starting to drop her flowers. She has a type of bromelaid just aesthetically shoved into the side of the pot with her. I'm about to muster up some intestinal fortitude and re-pot them both in separate containers. I'll also cut that stalk, as in one of your other videos, and see if I can encourage a 2nd bloom. I would NEVER have the courage to do any of these things without your guidance and inspiration. Thank you so much! Because of you, perhaps I can now add these gorgeous creations of nature to my plant/flower collection. I have always adored orchids but always so intimidated. They really do require a special type of care and attention! And they are definitely worth it! I am so glad I found your channel! God bless you!😁

So, here i am watching this a year late, as ironically I've been too busy caring for my own collection. However, I wanted to comment that this was one of the most helpful videos I've watched. I FINALLY feel confident about dealing with roots and re-potting. Having started with phals that are pretty self-explanatory, oncidium roots were tricky. Thanks again for all you share. :)

Very useful and specific! I had problems after separating and repotting Cambria Alpine purchased from Cameleonorchids. One or two pseudobulbs get orange rot in each section. My roots looked like your Eurostar. Only one made a flower spike, but is shrinking and the leaves started to get yelow (although I respected all stages of repotting and desinfecting). I want you to make a progress video about the care you gave to these repotted orchids after a month or two.

Hi Danny. First of all: thank you for everything. Because of you, I’m a pro at Phals. Ive at least 1 orchid in bloom (often more) since December 2022. Some of them - twice in a row. [people tell me they’re hard to grow. I’m like.. I do whatever Danny says].
Re: Oncidiums - how did this medium work for you? The sphegem/bark ratio (that I use for the Phals) tends to wrinkle the pseudobulb rather quick and the leaves get an ‘accordion shape’ (rather than the leaf curving out/open… they often curve in/closed).
Can you please share more of your oncidium experiences?
(Erm. Would love more on Zygopedelms info too. The dark spots on the leaves; thoughts?)
    Thank you again.

I did enjoy this tutorial. You are clear, concise and knowledgeable I would enjoy more. I have a small fanning orchid with a fleshy rhizome, I believe. The roots near the orchid fans are well but miniscule The fans are about 3" by 1". Should I lay the fleshy under root (rhizome) on its side with is bigger, comparatively, roots spreading around it? Stick it straight down? One of the growths of fans looks as if it is climbing, as the tiny stem attaching it to the rhizome is much longer than the attachments to the rhizome of the other 2 fans
    I would appreciate your help.
    Sincerely,
    Loula.

This was such a great video. Very educational. Do you ever post updates on how the orchids you repot in these videos are faring down the line? I would love to hear about how the plants recovered after you tended to them, especially since it's rather depressing the condition nurseries sell these amazing plants in.

So I have a Sherry Baby I purchased with a spike from a nursery now it is in full bloom in a 3 inch pot. 2 large bulbs and It looks very crowded in the pot. Should I repot while it’s blooming? I have several Phalaenopsis and have repotted while in bloom with no issues. I thought about waiting until the blooms faded. This is my first on Oncidium. Love your channel! Ty!

I just re-potted my orchid with products from Repotme. Everything was great getting the items and the quality. My question is the potting mix didn't have any moss in it which I thought was odd but I went ahead and re-potted it. Its been about a couple of weeks now and I'm wondering if it should have had moss in it only because it doesn't seem set firmly in the pot. Am I worrying for nothing?

Thanks for this great video! I recently started to grow two Oncidiums and repotted them.
Maybe someone can answer a question I didn’t find an answer to:
I repotted my Oncidium Sharry Baby (it sadly came with snail damage 🥺) and unfortunately damaged a new growth just emerging from the rhizome.
Do Oncidiums grow multiple new growths or just one? Hence, did I just kill my orchid?
    Thanks for your help ♥️🌸🌸

Thanks Danny! This is a very very informative repotting video that I need and enjoy to watch. 1 question: when repotting phalaenopsis with unhealthy root, should root not be wrapped with wet moss but bark? I had some phal with few root repotted last week. I found the unheathly root gone in the wet moss very soon. I wonder if the wet moss would cause the unheathly root rotten easily, without a chance to bounce back. Thanks!

I know I should have repotted once the flowers are spent but I left it as is and cared for it pretty well until I saw a spike!
