What should I do if I have like cut mark on my oldest phal it’s on one of the oldest leaf but the leaf looks pretty good except for that cut place which I didn’t do that it’s like it’s too heavy n it cuts itself I’m always careful when I put it in the bathtub to wet it so do I need to cut it off even though it looks good
I've committed unforgivable sins against my poor orchids, but they keep growing and surviving. Thanks to your videos I'm now treating them with love and respect... let's hope they don't all die of shock!
Thanks to you, I have now 1 year with my orchid 🥰🥰🥰 thank you sooo much! I just have one question, today I repot it because is growing up, the thing is... I put the outside roots inside the new pot, and now I see that I need to let it be like that, I am worry 😭 did I messed up??? Should I repot again and take those roots outside? Heeelp
My orchid has lost 3 of it's bottom leaves and seems to be losing another leaf too, but it had new leaf growth at the same time and the 'stem' is doing very well. It's top leaves seem fine but there's one large leaf that's drooping and i think it has something got to do with humidity. Hopefully it's not dying.
Hi Danny, Love your video's❤ the orchid you show, which is yellow, with pink detailing on the flower, may i ask the name? I have the very same orchid here in the uk.which i purchased with no name😔 so i would love to know if you can help😊 xx
I LOVE these videos. This is like a master class in orchid care. I have learned so much in so little time and I would recommend your channel to anyone with orchids.
thank you a lot! you sparked my obsession with orchids, now my life is always bright because of the pretty blooms 🤣😍 now I am helping my friends build a collection and i am always referencing your videos! 😋
Thank you for your videos! Since I found them not long ago, I have discovered that a brand new Phalaenopsis, still in flower, was suffocating in its pot - most roots gone! Same with an older one which had never rebloomed. Moss media in both. Used a bark media mix to repot both and they are looking better already (and the flowering one is still flowering!). Used your watering and care tips for another one (the one that almost killed my other orchids when it came into my house with mealy bugs hiding in the media). Three years after treating it (and the others) and repotting all of them it finally has a flower stalk! One of the other mealy bug infected ones is now getting a new leaf. Just one is still in recovery but will probably do so. You are great!
This is an informative grouping! Thank you so much. I work in a garden center where there are orchids, and I want to raise some that lost their flowers... we thought them dead, but your videos have taught me so much! Thank you for this.
After watching you and having success in my first phal starting a new leaf and acting happy with the way I'm watering and feeding it, I felt comfortable enough to buy myself another one for Mother's Day !
Thanks for sharing, though you are going through a sad period at this time, keep the faith God will take you through. Your orchids are really beautiful.
i recently given 4 orchids, 2 phalaenopsis, 1 mini phalaenopsis and one i believe to be a cattleya. i often rescue plants but As much as i love and know about plants, i'm mostly into succulents. i'm binge watching your videos to know everything. Is there a way i can send you pictures of these orchids for your advice? thank you
Great video, very simple and concise. I grow in zone 7, indoors, under a grow light. This Spring I repotted most of my 50 orchids in live orchid grade sphagnum moss. The growth and blooms have been fantastic. Just wondered what your growing conditions are?
Really love your videos, so helpful! I have a number of orchids to care for at work and was so worried about killing them off! So far so good with beautiful flowers on all but one plant.
I have 15 phaleonopsis orchids. I have them grouped together because it is the only area that has perfect light. They do very well and they get new flower spikes. I just have some that have a lot of roots outside the medium. Some I’ve reported that were like this. Should I be repotting them to put some of the roots back under the potting soil?
Hi Danni! i had to come by today (well, I visit everyday to watch at least one video) to "Thank You" for the cool way you show us how to re-pot orchids. I tried the bark/sphagnum moss method this week and it is keeping my orchids nice and hydrated enough where I did not have to water them everyday. I actually didn't mind watering them each day (well, I only have 2 orchids at the moment) but sometimes life happens and I could not get to it. Problem solved with sphagnum moss!! :) Now, I will work on trying to get them to bloom this year. :) .....more to learn, and more videos to watch. Thanks Danni (...and please, if you see this, please let me know if I am spelling your name correctly haha). :)
Yaay happy to hear you're more relaxed with your orchids now! There's is no correct way of spelling my name since it's not an English name, but I make it sounds like it lol so spell it however you like. I spell it like Danny, looks more intriguing 😂 (in reality it should be Dani, which is boring lol)
I am learning so much about phalaenopsis care that I now only buy in the discount section, (so I get them with the pretty ceramic decorative pot at 50% off), and I save them 80% of the time.
Be careful sometimes they're discounted because they might have a problem- in one of Danny's videos she found snails - II bought a cheap Orchid and they had cleaned it up but when I got it home it had scale ( look that up) spread like wildfire so check them over good.
Thank you ! Danny so much! I am learning a lot from you. I am a beginner with orchids, and l really appreciate your help. Orchids are such a beautiful delicate plant, l want to make sure that l’m doing everything right! You are a genius!
Thank you for your very informative video. I'm a newbie on plant care, my boss gave me this plant a day before new year, so its almost 2 weeks that I've been caring for this plant. I got worried when the spike of my phalaenopsis started to wither. But when I saw this video of yours, it gave me an assurance not to worry. thank you MissOrchidGirl, you're a big help. God bless you.
I just got a new stem after a long time I have never got a new stem on my three orchids I'm so EXCITED! I have had blooms but never a new stem! Thanks for all your helpful advice.
Ok so I have a vented pot and orchid medium, from repot me 😉, and my baby still got some root rot. I think that my decorative pot isn't allowing for proper water evaporation/air flow. So currently I'm not using decor pots. I'm seeing how that goes.
The exact same thing happened to me. My orchids where fine until I repotted with repot me. I also have removed them from the decorative pot. I hope this resolves the issue. Did it help you?
I follow you, can you please make videos white subtitles, I'm from the Netherlands, most of the time i can't follow your explanation for the orgideeen, please do, Kind regards, Albert Smit from the Netherlands
Thanks for this helpful video!!! I'm in the carnivorous plant hobby but i decided to tap into the orchid hobby too and I don't want to kill my new orchid
What is I cut too far on the spike, like completely. Did I murder the flowers? :( they are not growing anymore but the leaves do look very strong and continue to grow
I have just received my first Orchid as a gift. It was out of my Office for a week as I am always on the road, so it was sitting in this beautiful wrapping, I got her home and another week went by and she is still in her packaging then I found that I should have removed the packaging otherwise the root will rot! OMG ...so I removed the packaging and now the leaves have fallen off one by one...the roots look good, the flowers look good too, but I want my leaves back and because you said don't panic help is at hand...heeeeeelp what do I do next?
I have a flower stem that is dying, but not totally dried up. Should I wait until it has dried up before I cut it? I also have some dead roots. Should I leave them or cut them off? Do I remove it from the medium to do it? They are at the top of the medium, and could be snipped easily. I also just rescued her, and she was repotted about 6 weeks ago. Thanks!
I binge watched almost all your videos, i am a 100% sure i saw a video where your orchid had rot bc of your airconditioning leaking. Now i need this video to watch it zgain but i cant find it 😢 if you can maybe help me with the title?
My orchid had wrinkled leaves which is supposed to be dehydration but the medium was actually very wet. So i repotted it and let it dry out. I dont understand what was happening.
My orchid has very few roots I am hoping I can save it. Removed all the sodden peat and moss allowing the rotted roots to dry. Dontvknow what else I can do
I have a orchid one side of the flowers fall off dried up and the whole flower stock dried up and the other side is still full bloom of flowers and the stock is standing nice and strong can you tell me what is wrong do I need to change the pot and wood chips or put moss in it
Love your videos. I am trying to save my orchid I got from a friend. We'll see what happens. I ordered some bark and clear pot for it. Looking forward to getting it and hopefully salvage it. ❤️
My one an only favorite videos! I have 2 supermarket phalaenopsis approximately 2-3 years old. Never bloomed again. Doing well now, much better root system thanks to you. Came here to say this - thank you!!!

Your descriptions are incredibly clear and your follow through answers my questions before I have to ask. 😆 Thank you so much!
reboot? You use the miracle grow orchids mix??
Wow, I've learned so much after watching only 3 of your videos about orchid care! Easy to understand and highly informative. Thank you, young lady.
I recently got my first orchid and I'm consuming all of your videos so I can give it the best life possible 😊

I love your videos☺️.
Question? How compact should I allow the roots to get inside the pot before I repot and upscale to a bigger pot?
I was wondering about this too ha
excellent question, I am also wondering
I feel like if it looks like I just bought it from a store then the roots are compact

Your phals have glossy leaves how do you do that and
what fertilizer are you using
Do the spikes produce flowers more than once or will flowers always grow from new spikes?
You’re the Paul Stamets of orchids :) thanks for the tips!

Thanks for being so thorough 🥰
My one an only favorite videos! I have 2 supermarket phalaenopsis approximately 2-3 years old. Never bloomed again. Doing well now, much better root system thanks to you. BUT one has a small GROUP growing from the original crown and another small GROUP growing from the side. Each has 3 small leaves. Is this normal??? Please help.

I was given 3 cuttings from orchids. One dend..etc (can't spell it) (newbie) and two phelonopsis (trying a guess for spelling) and YOU HAVE THE BEST VIDEOS ON UA-cam. Thank you. Do you have thousands of orchids?? I could get obsessed with them.
Does the phalaenopsis go dormant
How do you keep your leaves so shiny
Is there a time of year that is not good to repot?
Love to watched your videos coz I'm starting to take care of the orchid got only one. Yes it's true I'm scared to take care of it but now I'm beginning to understand orchids. I SAW THE LEAVES OF YOUR ORCHIDS & ITS SO CLEAN
I’m hooked! Very knowledgeable and will present it. Thank you!
You could do a test on wood vinegar. I recently tried it with great doubt that it would work but it seems to push alot of growth in terms of roots.
You're amazing to give us such good expectations You're a blessing 🙌 ✨ 💕. Thank you.
I'm a novi plant owner, and watching your videos have saved my beloved orchid Olivia; a thousand thank youuuuuuus!!! \(^o^)/ You're doing god's work mang and btw... if you'd really like to know, you have a very beautiful and articulate voice! Also I absolutely love your accent and polished nails
How and when do you clean the leaves?
I have a Phal. orchid I apparently watered wrong, and all its leaves died- There seems to be only a green root left, which is sprouting in some way. What do I do? The other three I re-potted are doing great.. These were Publix store plants that had a small pot and lots of messed up roots to start with- I pruned the funky roots
