    Thank you for all this information! I love oncidiums. Do they need a cool period in order to spike? I have a brassia Rising Star that looks sooo healthy but has never spiked.

    I’m from the US. Can you tell me what is in the eco oil and the eco fungicide? Thank you!

    • @johnnyAGardening
      @johnnyAGardening  5 років тому

      I do know it is based on plant oils, (100% if I recall correctly) however I do not know the actual plant oils used. I think some of these may be Australian Native Plants. It is effective and is widely used in Orchid Circles. Eco Oil MAY have a data sheet online......

      johnny A I can’t seem to find anything comparable in US, except horticultural oil. I’ll keep looking.

      That one is an original hybrid by Clive Halls and there is only ONE of them. Its called Odontioda( Oncidium) Beenak Beauty.
      Take a look at this video for a little more on this type of Orchids - WITH NAMES in the sub titles and the notes below the video.... SEE ua-cam.com/video/VVNRZn1Of3A/v-deo.html

    can backbulbs be grown again?

    • @johnnyAGardening
      @johnnyAGardening  Рік тому +1

      Sometimes Yes, as long as they have dormant eyes (usually the bulbs are a little green still beneath the skin) HOWEVER, it can take 4-5 years and no guarantees….

      I left backbulbs sitting under the plant table to be thrown out, after 3 months with no water I noticed 2 new growths

    Hello. I noticed some of the plants on the bench have moss visible. Is that just a top dressing? Thanks for very informative upload.! 🌱🙏💕✨

    • @johnnyAGardening
      @johnnyAGardening  5 років тому +2

      Hello Charla, if it is the pot I think you mean, that is sphagnum moss. You can also grow then in that as a medium and it is better if you are sending the plants by mail order. We have a seperate video coming on different growing mediums.....
