The Contrast in Manila is Insane, it has one of the biggest contrasts of price and rich and poor that I've seen in Southeast Asia. The Bonofacio Global area has huge upscal luxury malls and all multinational compnies and is a business hub and just the other side of BGC is a whole different world of chaos cheap Filipino street food and jeepneys and the real hustle and bustle of the Philippines

Thanks Tom for loving the Philippines and it's people. Manila and Bangkok are good choices to live. Actually, I always find your Philippines vlogs more fun to watch. What I love about you Tom is you're flexible when it comes to food and in going places.
I felt like his vlogs were more genuine back when he was living in cebu. I pretty much stopped watching after that because of all of the fake/scripted random encounters with cute girls. I like authenticity and feel like it's an insult when someone expects you to believe their script is real.

If you want chaos, try Ugbo St, in Tondo. They close the street at night and food vendors take over. Very local and you'll eat a lot for cheap.

Better in the malls like in the Market Market mall. More choices to choose from there.
manila has 16 component cities and you've just explored a very small section of one of the 16 cities. if you go further south it's more of gated subdivisions
Hey Tom welcome back to Manila. My wife and I were in metro manila from October - November. Halloween night we hung out in BGC such a different place. Try the chocolate layered cake at Starbucks. I'm not a fan of Starbucks however I loved the cake. Enjoy Tom and be safe. Stop flirting with all the females even if there energy is good. Big contrast because big companies in bcg are not giving housing to the employees, that’s the maintenance ,salesperson stayed there . because most of them lives in different provinces from visayas has to mindanao, and they cannot remove that place or else nobody work in bcg ,regular employees cannot afford in condo.

wow! 60 pesos for 2 ulam with rice then 80 pesos for coffee. 200+ pesos if you go to starbucks. you know there are lots of carinderias in metro manila as cheap as that 60 pesos up to 100 that are prepared on the spot in the morning and being served right around 10 to 11 am and gets demolished before it gets cold before 2 pm.

You say no chaos no fun. I think that depends on the person, and age. Your 20+ years younger than me. Not giving out my specific age😊. But, comparing my wants and needs to yours I can see gravitating more to the modern side than the other side. Not saying I wouldn't go to the other side ever. I most definitely would, I think BOTH sides have pros and cons.
It would have been helpful if you would have explained why you recommend the pork and not the chicken.
Otherwise, I continue to enjoy your vlogs and the information you put out.

BGC has a high price tag but people do enjoy watching videos about it. If you can afford to split time between Bangkok and Manila then a plus for viewership.
If you've tried the same areas at NIGHT TIME, the "chaos" will be in BGC 😊

no it's because you're out and about during the middle of the day in a workday too. Come back around at night especially during the weekends and you'll see the extreme difference. PLus you've only been in one strip of BGC not even in Forbes Town, High Street and the trails
Totally agree with you on the contrast..the place you went with big buildings posh malls etc is just dead boring mate..the area u had breakfast is so my style with the real vibe and people..much better there for sure..I wouldn't bother with all the other fake shite mate..stick to the real peeps..much more fun ❤
tom , BGC is over rated , go to east wood city in quezon city 35 to 40 minutes from BGC . I travel bi weekly to manila from Hawaii . or if you like down to earth head to cubao . great night life hidden gem

At the first carinderia, there were hot girls, a warm welcome and cold food.
Quite the contrast between the two areas. BGC is nice and modern but it is so new that it's a bit sterile and has no history at all like Singapore or Bangkok.

I was in BGC just over a week ago and also visited Venice Mall. All lovely and very modern. Great for Economy and standard of living but do love the Downtown streets and meeting more humble people. They are much friendlier around 168 in Chinatown, Manila and in Tondo.

Come on. Philppino food is good??? Bascially fried chicken and pork or fast food chains. No salad or vegetables on the side... At least my experience in Cebu City... On reason I prefer Thailand or Vietnam. Lived in all 3. People are in general warm and very friendliy in PH but the food......

Food must taste good if you say so but who likes Cold food when it is meant to be a hot meal? Your pick up coffee' was dearer than your cold meal, but it loooked good. Your evening meal was meaty but still reasonable even though twice the price of your breakfast meal, but a cold meal again, not for me! Is the food hot in the mall area restaurants, is it just the street food that is served cold?
