I love Siem Reap and Cambodia for many reasons. The temples, people, food, culture and cost of living. Heading there in January to get a long term visa. Thanks for all you share!
As a Canadian that travels to SE Asia many times, I tried a couple insects in Thailand and it was good, but not something I would eat a bag full of like chips or another type of snack.
Except it's Cambodian culture that Thais assimilated and adopted. Cambodia is the mother of Thailand. Hence, Thai culture is almost 100% Cambodian. Hence, there are Cambodian temples dotted across Thailand, Loas and Vientnam. Thais were living with Cambodian for over 600 hundreds. When the Cambodian empire started to fall apart, Thais found what is now Thailand - Cambodian ancestral land. Thais like this one like to spread lies, misinformation and disinformation, instead of thanking Cambodia for birthing Thailand, or else there could never, ever be Thailand.
@@maggytravels0 When Genghis Khan conquered China and massacred Tai Chinese in Yunan, these Tais ran into Cambodia for safety. Genghis Khan never dared attack Cambodia. 30 to 40% of Thai words is Khmer and Thais use Khmer numbers to these days. Cambodian is over 2000 years old. Thailand was found in 1432 when the Cambodian Empire started to crumble. The truth is easily found via Google search and/or AI.
