As a kid growing up in the late 70's Gene spitting blood was the coolest thing ever.

Paul Stanley (rhythm guitar/Starchild) is lead vocals on most songs, Gene (bass/Demon) takes lead on most of the heavier songs and Peter (drummer/Cat) sings lead on a few (mostly ballads like Beth, Hard Luck Woman) and Ace (lead guitar/Spaceman) also sings lead on a few. All four of them put solo albums out under the Kiss brand in 1978.

Song is from the 1992 album Revenge. During the period they took off the makeup. They put it back on in 1996, and have worn it since.
Paul sings lead on most songs. Gene does sing lead on some, another is "God of Thunder"

I hope you ladies take a chance off the channel to watch the Official Music Video... The imagery and clearer vocals make it a much better song. Gene does sing a huge number of KISS songs and there are even a few where he shares vocals with Paul Stanley. Some of Gene's best are God of Thunder, Calling Dr. Love, War Machine and Deuce. KISS wanted to be a band like the Beatles where all of the members sang lead on songs and they did.

They all sing lead at times. Each member is like a comic book superhero, and all own their personas. Demon, Starchild, Space Ace, and Catman. The Catman drummer has a great voice. You will enjoy him on "Hard Luck Woman" and live in Houston 1977, "Hooligan". The three of you are so cool, and sweet. Great job on the reactions. Peace 🤟

This incredible performance comes from Kiss "Rock The Nation LIVE!" which was recorded live in Virginia Beach, VA on July 25, 2004 and in Bristow, VA (Washington DC) July 24, 2004. This was the then-current lineup of the band (which you see here):
    Gene Simmons - Bass, Vocals
    Paul Stanley - Guitar, Vocals
Tommy Thayer - Lead Guitar, Backing Vocals
Eric Singer - Drums, Backing Vocals

one of the rare songs from non make up era that been played live in make up. this song was on the album Revenge and this has not been played since the revenge tour and for them to add it to the set list in 2004 must been a treat for fans back then.

One thing that shocked me about this album... The Revenge album was the first one they released after the unfortunate passing of their drummer Eric Carr. Cancer took him from us far to early. They brought in a new drummer, Eric Singer, who played with them until the end. The shocking part was this... When I picked up the CD, for the first time KISS had a blonde member of the group. That really stopped me in my tracks. Being a life long KISS fan that really shocked me. Not sure why it hit me so hard, but it did. In closing... Congrats on the Blue Ribbon Lulu :)

You really need to watch some live classic 70's era KISS! Check out "Firehouse" from either Tokyo,Japan 1977 or Houston,TX 1977 and "God of Thunder" from Japan 1977. "I stole your Love" from Hoston,TX 1977 is cool too! Anything from 1975-1978 is when KISS was at their peak of popularity with the 4 original band members!!

Gene Simmons -bass guitar, pyrotechnics, blood. Lead vocalist on more songs than people might realize.. Backup vocals on a lot of songs. He also had a 50s sock hop themed show at a venue somewhere in Vegas I think... If I remember right that was back in the mid 2000s. 😊❤

I dont remember what Gene said that liquid was actually made of,but i seem to remember clearly that he said "it tastes like sh*t" So when you see his stankface, its probably that bitter taste helping in him keeping a straight, grumpy looking face.
I liked to see Lulu laughing when she saw Gene going wild and "bloody". I know he has scared many a kid or young teen over the years lol. Funfact: Gene Simmons has actually approached Angelina Jordan and praised her,she felt really awkward of course but holds that as one of her many special moments already, where she has met huge stars and even people she has looked up to herself. But i respect him for taking his time to approach her and giving her compliments for her live performance.
Unholy is actually one of theyr "hidden hits",it isnt usually requested as some of theyr first songs to reaction channels. Its a solid KISS hit by all means,it just tends to "be easily forgotten". So im glad someone recommended this live performance for you. Giving you a chance to hear Gene singing lead. Thats a special thing KISS had, with theyr original lineup pretty much all 4 members could sing lead if need be,but especially Gene and Paul are strong lead vocalists. But also does a good job doing backup vocals for one another.

Ya'll need to dig deeper into kiss catalog. Peter criss the drummer sings beth. For a great gene simmons vocal check out All The Way from the Hotter Than Hell album 1974. Ive been a kiss fan since the beginning in 1974. Dig in and dig up.

Paul Stanley & Gene Simmons were the main songwriters of Kiss, but the original band also had drummer Peter Criss and lead guitarist Ace Frehley contribute vocals... Peter Criss had the big hit 'Beth'... and he also had a great, bluesy voice for Kiss songs like 'Hard luck woman' ... 'Black diamond' ... 'Hooligan'... 'Strange ways'... 🔥🤘
Ace Frehley did not want to sing initially, but that changed in 1977 when he did the Kiss song 'Shock me'... and then his 1978 solo album became a successful record w/ his lead vocals... Ace then sang lead on more of his songs - 'Talk to me'... 'Hard times'... and a great cover of '2000 Man' (by the Rolling Stones) ... Gene Simmons sang lead on some of Ace's Kiss songs like 'Cold gin' ... 'Parasite' ... 🔥🤘
After he left Kiss in 1982, he tried his hand as a solo artist... his band Frehley's Comet was short-lived and his solo album "Trouble walkin' " (1989) was not a commercial success... After he left Kiss a second time in 2002, he took time off to clean up yet again from drugs and alcohol and returned in 2009 w/ a fairly successful solo album 'Anomaly'... and his solo records have charted consistently since. His 2014 album 'Space invader' charted at #9 in the US.

Most fun live band ever!!! I've seen them close to 40 times. Took a few vacations and hit the road. This song is from the non make-up era. Ever since their reunion, they filtered in the popular non make-up era. You really should do Shout it out Loud from the reunion tour opening night at Tiger Stadium. You'll love it. Been seeing them live since 1982. I really love seeing you guys enjoy this band. Great reaction gals!!! 🤟🍻😝

Written by Gene Simmons and Vinnie Vincent lol
Makes me wish they could have kept Vinnie in the band
I was there through the ages
      Chained slaves to their cages
I have seen you eat your own
      I'm the cycle of pain
Of a thousand year old reign
      I'm suicide and salvation
      The omen to nations
That you worship on all fours
      I'm the infection and famine
      That's knocking at your door
      I am the incubus
I lay the egg in you
The worm that burrows through your brain
      But you are the beast
That calls me by my name
You send your children to war
      To serve bastards and whores
      So now you know
      You created me
On the day that you were born
I was created by man, yeah I'm the Lord of the flies
      You know I'm
      Unholy
From the left hand of power comes
      The Father of Lies

Kiss is one of my favorite groups all times and I would dress up like them in school. My Gym teacher actually called me Kiss through out my High School years. Their music was considered Glam Rock at the time (got to see them in 76 ,77, and 78 ) and their drummer was one of the biggest influences on my drumming at the time with his massive drum kit that in 1978, (at age 16) I went out and bought myself a 12 piece double bass kit ( 12 drums and 8 cymbals) and still playing them to this day. (at age 61).Would love to see you react to another great 70s Glam Rock bands called The Sweet (later just Sweet). The songs are Ballroom Blitz and Fox on the Run. This group had several hits like Little Willie, Love is like Oxygen and of course the 2 songs mentioned. I think Donna would recognise some of them, maybe.

25 years or so ago at the Carolina Coliseum I saw them perform. I thought I didn't have really good seats, about 3 rows up from the edge of the first balcony facing the stage. About a third of the way through the show I noticed a small platform directly in front of me about 4 ft square just outside of the balcony railing. As I was wondering whay it was there the next song started and Paul Stanley "flew" over the main floor audience on wires and landed on that platform and for the duration of that song I had one of the best seats in the house!

I was 10 when they started and have enjoyed 50 years of the band.
There have been many changes in the band members.
Some wore their own style of makeup, and some members never got the chance to become a character.
Gene and Paul sang the majority of the songs. Peter, the drummer, and Ace, the lead guitarist, sang most times a song an album.
Ace and Peter would leave and Eric Carr, the new drummer became the Fox with appropriate makeup.
Vinnie Vincent would replace Ace and have Ank makeup.
Eric Carr would succumb to cancer and be replaced by Eric Singer, who, until the end of the touring band, wore the Cat makeup.
Vinnie would be replaced by Mark St. John and later Bruce Kulick, neither of which wore makeup.
Finally, Tommy Thayer, would wear the Ace makeup to end the touring band.
    Confusing, I know.
Yes, a period of time, the band took off the makeup.
Now close your eyes, Lulu, ladies try a reaction to Lick It Up or Heavens On Fire to non makeup videos. I would watch the official videos.
Finally go back and find a concert video from the mid 70's. I would suggest Firehouse or Strutter.
Great job. Hope I helped you some.

Looking back as an adult I want to thank all the photographers who kept kayfabe and didn't print pictures of them sans makeup.
    Love all three of y'all!!

Gene Simmons (bass/ vocals) has always been an attention wh++e 😝 of Kiss (u have heard him sing "Rock and roll all nite" - one of their biggest hits) ... Gene demands attention onstage from the fans, which is why he became the patsy doing the blood-spitting... flying to the rafters on wires... and breathing fire as the 'demon' (and yes, his tongue is that long!) ... Offstage, Gene was getting the attention of the women and he did not turn down any offers to satiate him 😂 but he did date some big names in entertainment - Cher... and Diana Ross... 😲
However, he was ironically the first member of Kiss to settle down... He met Playboy model/ actress Shannon Tweed back in 1984 and he bought her a house so that they could live together (Even though he claimed they saw other people, Shannon Tweed clarified that it was an act... and they were in a committed relationship)... Gene & Shannon had their son Nick Simmons in 1989... and their daughter Sophie was born in 1992... His family did the reality TV series "Gene Simmons' Family Jewels"... and Gene and Shannon officially married in 2011.
Paul Stanley (vocals/ guitar) is the primary member of Kiss and has written the most hits w/ the band... When Kiss took their makeup off in 1983 (It was a new line-up by then w/ Paul & Gene), the band was successful again... but Gene Simmons was not 100% invested in Kiss anymore because he had lost the "demon" persona onstage without the makeup, so he indulged in more acting roles in movies and TV... Paul Stanley had to deliver the hit singles and became the star in Kiss, so Gene did not have any major songs from 1983 to 1990 ( Listen to the Kiss songs by Gene from those years - 'Secretly cruel' ... 'Burn b++ch burn' ... 'Not for the innocent'... to hear why!)
Paul Stanley had the memorable voice in Kiss and had the stage persona + the songs to make the biggest impact... He delivered the hits like 'Creatures of the night' ... 'Tears are falling' ... "Heaven's on fire" ... 'Lick it up'... 'Reason to live'...
'Unholy' came in 1992 in the last non-makeup years of Kiss from the album 'Revenge'... After 1990, Paul Stanley had apparently told Gene that he needed better songs because Kiss needed a heavier album in the 90's... So, Gene Simmons actually delivered some of his best songs on that record... 'Unholy' became the first single... 'Domino' was another of his odes to sex ... and he and Paul wrote a stellar song together - "God gave rock n roll to you II"
This performance was filmed in 2004... by that point, Kiss was back in makeup, but original members Peter Criss (drums) and Ace Frehley (lead guitar) were replaced by Eric Singer (drums) and Tommy Thayer (lead guitar) who took over their makeup characters onstage... I went to that 'Rock the Nation' tour w/ Poison opening and it was one of the most fun concerts I have ever attended.
But in the makeup years, Gene had quite a few Kiss klassiks that he had written and sang - "Deuce" ... 'Calling Dr. Love' ... ''Christine sixteen" ... "Let me go rock n' roll" ... 'I love it loud' ... 'War machine'... 🤘🤘🔥🔥 His 1978 Gene Simmons solo album was not what Kiss fans expected from the 'demon'... Songs like - 'See you tonite' ... ''Burning up with fever'... were rather mellow.

Funny you should mention Garth Brooks. He was a huge kiss fan and Gene referred to Garth as "Country Kiss".

Gene Simmons had a more raunchy and took lead vocals on some of Kiss' best song:
    - Unholy
    - Deuce
    - Calling Dr.Love
    - Let Me Know (A Beatle-esque song)
    - Rock and Roll All Nite
    - I Love It Loud
Even did a ballad which is pretty good called "A World Without Heroes"

Another sugestion from KISS: "Black Diamond" from the Animalize Uncensored live concert. The drummer sings it, his name is Eric Carr (RIP), and he was one of the best drummers I've seen play. "I love it loud" is other really cool song by them.
