I remember listening to KISS on 8-track in the 70s when I was like 7-10 years old. My parents had one of those old console stereos in the living room and I would lay on the floor listening to them with these big ole headphones. Good memories.
Even though I'm not a huge Kiss fan, this is the ultimate party song! This song just makes me want to crank it up and start doing air guitar and jumping around! This is an anthem!!
You guys HAVE to DEFINITELY need to check out some classic 70's era live KISS performances especially from Tokyo,Japan March 1977.Madison Square Garden Feb 18th 1977 or Houston,TX 1977!!
Sadly you won't have a chance to see them "live" in person. They just played their last concert Dec. 2nd in New York... I was there. I saw a total of 70 KISS concerts, at least one show every U.S. Tour from 1974 to 2023.
How in the world can all three of you sit there and act like you have no idea who KISS is? KISS has been around since 1973, they have written over 400 songs, one of the best bands of all time. I have seen KISS live in concert 17 times
B kuz if U grew up in Hillbilly Country ppl don't no alot of bands like Kiss... Poison... Pantera...Metallica........ I had a friend who only listens 2 Latina Music an shevis from Mexico 🇲🇽 so she don't no any Country music singers at all.......
For a real KISS experience check out "She" or "Black Diamond" 1975 at Cobo Hall Detroit. This was before they revealed themselves without makeup. They were in their twenties, sinister, and still hungry for success. You will all love these videos. ✌
You were wondering about the composition of this video? It's a mixture of live footage from the original 70s makeup years (the song itself is from 1975) and videos from the band's makeupless 80s lineup - Kiss wore no makeup from 1983 to 1996. Both lineups feature Paul Stanley (rhythm guitar and vocals) and Gene Simmons (bass and vocals). These two were the band's central characters and creative forces from the very beginning to the very end - Kiss did their final concert ever on December 2nd 2023, in Madison Square Garden, New York. The band was completed by, in the makeup days, Ace Frehley (lead guitar) and Peter Criss (drums). In these makeupless shoots they were replaced by Bruce Kulick and the late great Eric Carr respectively (he sadly succumbed to cancer in 1991). Kulick coincidentally moved on to Grand Funk Railroad, from where he has only just resigned.
@@KathyLuluandDonna no problem! Kiss as a band made up most of my childhood along with Black Sabbath, so it’s extremely gratifying to see people appreciate them for the amazing group they are, drama aside lol. Having 3 separate opinions from 3 separate generations makes for great content! Keep up the good work!
Hello glad to hear you liked the song. Rock and roll all night is the rock and roll national anthem. I personally know all members past and present and I can say you will not ever come across a better bunch of guys with heart and soul.
This video incorporates clips of numerous other music videos (videos made for other songs) and live performances spanning the band's masked and unmasked periods. Also, pretty much every person who has ever been a member of the band appears somewhere in this video. The audio track, BTW, is from the album "Alive!" which includes recordings of performances from different concerts in the spring and summer of 1975.
Did you girls get goosebumps when the guitars came in at the start of the song? I did, and I’ve been following them from the beginning. I grew up in Detroit and one of my favorite songs is Detroit Rock City. You’ll have to see that one. Yeah it’s Gene Simmons with the blood. They have a song called God of Thunder which is a signature part of their acts. That’s another you should see. After 50 years I still love to watch/hear them play.
Finally, we got to rockin' to KISS 🤩This was an official video that Kiss released w/ footage from both the makeup and non-makeup eras... mixed w/ a ''mockumentary" (Kiss X-posed) in the 80's where they portrayed Kiss living in a mansion w/ 24/7 groupies 😂 In real life, they were very professional and business-oriented... They had fun away from each other, but they were not Motley Crue for sure... The live track used in the video was their 1975 version from the 'Alive!' album... Strangely, Peter Criss (drums) was not featured much in the footage - they showed his replacement (the late) Eric Carr (drums) It was their then-manager and TV producer Bill Aucoin who saw them live and wanted to improve on their potential... Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons were the more animated members of Kiss onstage, while Ace Frehley (lead guitar) was a bit reserved... Ace had bad balance and would often fall over while playing wearing those platform boots in concert, so Paul & Gene would act like it was part of the show. Aucoin would film Kiss during rehearsals and would review the tapes to make suggestions to improve the visual delivery of Kiss ... Gene being the rather outspoken member of Kiss w/ the oversized tongue (!) made him a target of pranks... He was also the one who drew the short straw when it came to learning stage tricks from Bill Aucoin's showbiz performers... Gene was the 'demon' of Kiss, so he had to learn to spit fake blood (from capsules) onstage and then 'fly' on wires to the top of the stage lighting where he would do a song high above the stage... He also was the one to learn how to 'breathe fire' in concerts... But he lived for the fame and infamy - it brought him the girls! Gene co-wrote 'Rock and roll all nite' w/ Paul Stanley because Kiss needed a hit single by 1975... the studio version (from the 3rd album 'Dressed to kill') made little impact. However, this live version was much more energetic and became a breakthrough hit for Kiss in '75 from the 'Alive!' live record. Paul Stanley didn't have to do any tricks like Gene... Paul was always moving, captivating the crowd and was the band's rock star frontman w/ his jumps, splits and high kicks (when he was younger) ... Kiss was him and Gene's band, but over time, Paul Stanley became the key member (especially in the 80's) and wrote a bulk of the bigger hits by Kiss. If u loved "Rock and roll all nite"... I'm certain u will enjoy these Kiss classics - 'Detroit rock city' ... 'Deuce'... 'Shout it out loud' ... 'Black Diamond' ... 'Parasite' ... 'Love gun' ... 🤘🤘🔥🔥 Kiss 4ever!!!
KISS released a Home Video "Exposed" that much of the footage was pulled from. This does include clips of various live performances. It also includes 6 different members of the KISS family. So happy you enjoyed it!
What's funny about the song "Beth" is that it was supposed to be a throw away song. I was released as the B side of "Detroit Rock City" and is actually their biggest commercial hit. It was on their second album "Destroyer".

3:05 i like the instant shock on Kathy and Lulus faces, while Donna finds this absolutely hilarious!Thats Gene Simmons for you,he did some really extra performances live. If you gave him enough solo time on stage, this is some of what could happen. People can say what they want about him,but you have to give him one thing,he is one outstanding showman. He really went into character with his demonic face makeup! 3:44 I remember having this on VHS,called: KISS Exposed. An absolutely hilarious "insight" into how Kiss lives in theyr mansion as a band, they are totally putting every stereotype behaviour in there, every gossip they have read about themselfs in the media, they have thrown into this over the top, comedic "documentary". And what you saw,i believe was playmates from Hugh Hefners mansion being hired in as "decoration" for some scenes. Yup,also as "stuffed animals" They held nothing back in this "documentary" that was more a over the top comedy special, where you get to see theyr comedic sides. Call it KISSes own jab at gossip media that made up stories about them as individuals. Knowing this, you are in for many laughs watching this 80s "documentary" with an interviewer that visits KISS and gets scared, embarrased and much more in this. (Because of the nature of it all,i guess they stamped this as for people the age of 18 and up,but to my memory you dont really see anything too explicit,as long as you know up front that they are totally being silly and exaggerate everything on purpose, you will constantly laugh throughout it all) You did see a monkey,Kathy. His name is Sonny and from what i heard, Sonny went on to front Kellogg's Cocoa Krispies after that Xposed documentary. In the documentary thats supposed to be Paul Stanleys monkey, and you can see him hang out throughout the documentary. 11:15 Yup,thats also from KISS Exposed Paul in some 80s Aerobic outfit, with only ladies behind him, they really went over the top with that "documentary". Lulu seems abit traumatized poor thing. There is alot to take in with these guys, thats for sure.
Yes, this isn't an official music video and they have mixed in scenes from a Kiss mocumentary Kiss released 1987 (while the song is from 1975)! The mocumentary told a fabricated narrative of Kiss living together in a huge mansion, living a crazy rockstar lifestyle 27/7.
I remember when KISS decided to unmask themselves..what a HUGE reaction from the public. I’ve been listening to KISS since Summer of 77 just shy of my 8th Birthday
"God of Thunder" is the song where Gene is spitting blood. At times they will lift him up to a scaffold over the crowd for his part as blood spewer. He jumps, goes to the platform 25 or so feet up to do his stuff. Ace is the most amazing guitarist. This is the other side .. Ace Frehley " Shock Me w/ Solo" 9-1-77 Houston that is a fantastic show of the KISS amazingness. Took my daughter to see kiss on her 13th birthday ... KISS - Gene Simmons Bass Solo / God Of Thunder - Chicago 1996 - Reunion Tour These are two cool toons but Kiss God Of Thunder Live 1977 With Drum Solo or KISS 2000 Man and Ace Frehley Guitar Solo The Last KISS DVD (HD).. When they toured in Japan they inspired a whole movement called Visual Kei. Many bands to this day have a visual look that inspires their songs and performances. One of the biggest is Versailles. They dress as Baroque Era Vampires, in French Rococo inspired costumes. Check out Versailles Masquerade live Holy Grail You'll love them.
Kathy, Lulu, and Donna - I'm really enjoying your three-generation reactions & what you all bring to the discussion. One song I'd love to see the three of you react to is 'Insensitive' by Jann Arden. Jann is a beloved singer/songwriter here in Canada. She's from Alberta which is the part of Canada most like Texas! It's a song about falling for a jerk of a guy so it might be something you as women can relate to! There haven't been many songs in my life that when I first heard them I had to stop and listen, 'Insensitive' is one of them.
KISS was my first concert. 1978, Inglewood, California. I was all of 12 years old. I have been to hundreds of concerts since. KISS always puts on a good show. Fun reaction.👏👏👏🤙🤙🤙🤘🤘🤘
God Bless you Gals. Watching you all reminds me of all the wonderful times I had with my Mother and Grandmother. They have passed on, so please continue to enjoy every moment you have with each other. ❤😂
I had to laugh when you saw Gene Simmons and the blood. I was about 15 when I went to a show. Gene was on a platform directly above our heads and he dripped on me. I was sooooo excited. I didn't want to wash it of. I was over the moon and dancing in the aisles to another tune and Paul Stanley pointed down the aisle right at me. I almost fainted. Best show I've ever been to. I was the only one in the aisle at the time, so I know he was pointing at me. I was completely blown away by them. Fave band ever. The blood bit is during a song called God of Thunder. It's just fake. So much fun to see them. Unfortunately they are going to be AI from here on in. They retired this year from performing, but Space Ace Frehely is still performing and released a new song this year called 10,000 Volts. It really rocks hard. The tongue is 100% real and it's 7 inches long. Naturally so. He's actually really nice.
When I saw Kiss for the first time at their reunion tour two adult guys behind me discussed loudly and though Gene had bitten himself in his tongue and was bleeding 😁😂
Glad you enjoyed this song if you like sporting event's then you may have heard it playing whenever your team wins or scores a goal, touchdown, or whatever sport you maybe watching at the time so next time your at a sporting event or in front of a tv you may hear this or another KISS song playing.
1975 in Atlanta. The best concert ever, except for when I saw Elvis live. They put on one heck of a show. Yes, that's Gene Simmons with the tongue and blood. Paul Stanley singing with the wild pants. Great reaction. Next, "Detroit Rock City".
This video is a montage of a home video the band released in 1984 call KISS Exposed, set to the live version of this song, recorded and released in 1975, on Kiss Alive!
What does Gene Simmons use as blood? 1/3 cup cottage cheese (preferably with pineapples) 4 squirts red food coloring. 1/2 cup Aunt Jamima maple syrup (extra thick) 3 heaping tablespoons corn syrup.
I would highly recommend Detroit Rock City, and Shout It Out Loud from Detroit Tiger Stadium. Member of KISS ARMY since I was 7 years old back in 1978. Kind of a metal guy, but classical and jazz trained in guitar and piano. KISS was always a stand out and have seen them 35 to 40 times. Great reaction guys!!! Merry Christmas 🍻🤟!!!
All right my lovely ladies.... I have seen this band at least eight times and have never been disappointed. Their concerts have always had a lot going on and I'm glad that you had a visual experience to see "the hottest band in the world"... KISS ‼️💯🔥💯🔥🥁🎸🎤🎸🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
A week after Thanksgiving, I flew from Los Angeles to New York for Kiss's last two concerts at Madison Square Garden in New York Dec 1'st and 2, 2023. I heard from someone when I was in line waiting to get into the arena that Kiss spent an extra million dollars on special effects for their last show. They aren't going on any more tours!
Nice compilation video. Gene said that that fake blood could gace been anything,in the old days, yogurt and catsup, whatever. If you see him in a photo of the blood spitting act looking really ugly, its because the fake blood tasted awful! Their shows were spectacular, with fireworks explosion, Gene spitting blood, also flying for God of Thunder and he blows a fireballl, too. I saw the reunion show, with the original members, twice. The scenes were from their VHS videos ' behind the scenes' stuff doing fake interviews, etc.
The video has shots from Kiss shows with and without Make-Up eras. The Make -Up Shows were massive and wild. Lights, stage antics, including Gene Simmons long tongue and spitting fake blood as the Vampire. You haven't been to a Rock Concert until you attended one of those Kiss Concerts. I wasn't always the biggest Kiss Fan, and I've seen dozens of big rock concerts, but nothing like a Kiss Concert.
Ladies watch their concert titled KISS Rocks The Nation from 2005. Its the last year the singer Paul Stanley's voice still sounded good. He had vocal chord surgery the next year and he hasn't sounded as good since. That concert will give you a better idea of what they were like live. Their stage show is one of the best in the biz.
Another great reaction! Lulu was right.. this is a collage of all their stuff from the early days to their later stuff. KISS had two eras...starting out with makeup and then without. They switched members up over the years, but Paul and Gene have always been a constant. BTW Gene is also a good actor..he has been in the movies Runaway with Tom Selleck, Wanted Dead or Alive with Rutger Hauer, and Trick or Treat with Ozzy Osbourne.🙂
It’s all real, lol, but it’s clips from other videos , there were 3 distinct era’s of Kiss, the first 10 yrs they wore makeup, as they lost a couple of members, and record sales began to wain, they took off the make up and had to sort of rebuild from scratch, that was another 10-12 yrs, then MTV unplugged came around, (you should totally watch because it’s amazing how well these songs sound just with acoustic guitars) that re United them with the other 2 members that had left and those sessions prompted a reunion of all the original members, and they put the makeup back on, and that went from about 96 - 2002 something like that, then those 2 members left again and they brought some of the other guys back but they kept the makeup and have worn it ever since
I think three ladies have just joined the Kiss Army!
A month too late, lol
Detroit Rock City, Love Gun, God of Thunder, Dr. Love, Take Me, Makin Love....the list goes on and on. KISS rocks hard!!!

Thanks
I've seen them 37 times and the best show in the world
Babygirls eyes and expressions during some parts of the video were absolutely hilarious!
WOW seriously, could the two older chickens stop cackling for TWO SECONDS to let Lulu chime in every now and then!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That crowd was in Brazil and too 200,000 people in 1982
Great choice ladies! That's a Banger for sure!😊
It really is!
Love it!! Great reaction!
Thank you!! 😁
KISS was known for their live performances!
Thanks
That's awesome. What a great experience.
It's a music video with clips from live performances through the years and what looks like behind the scenes clips as well.
I have seen KISS many times and they are amazing to see in concert. They performed in Rio with over 137,000 in attendance. 🤟
1975 in Atlanta. The best concert ever, except for when I saw Elvis live. They put on one heck of a show. Yes, that's Gene Simmons with the tongue and blood. Paul Stanley singing with the wild pants. Great reaction. Next, "Detroit Rock City".
Did you see them at Atlanta Fulton County stadium? . I was their.
This video is a montage of a home video the band released in 1984 call KISS Exposed, set to the live version of this song, recorded and released in 1975, on Kiss Alive!
Exposed is from 1987
What does Gene Simmons use as blood?
1/3 cup cottage cheese (preferably with pineapples) 4 squirts red food coloring. 1/2 cup Aunt Jamima maple syrup (extra thick) 3 heaping tablespoons corn syrup.
Cool
@@KathyLuluandDonnathat sounds like the best tasting combo that they've come up with, after years of experimenting with all kinds of gross things.
Best part was when Ace Frehley's guitar caught on fire 🔥
Took my daughter to see kiss when she was young, best concert experience I ever had because I introduced her to the greatest band on earth!! Lol
I remember being 12 and listening to AM radio (WCOL) and hearing this song. The first rock song I jammed to...
Ive seen them 37 times its one of the best show to date
Kiss ALIVE is in my top 5 live albums of all time. Hint: 4 of the 5 were recorded at Cobo Hall. The other was at the Cinderella Ball Room.
Their theme is "if it's too loud then you're too old"
The behind the Seens were from their first video Kiss Exposed they made in the early 1980's when VCR's started becoming popular.
I have them live a few times back in the 80s always a great show
The video was comprised from various clips from Kiss Exposed which is supposed to be a documentary of the band
My generation's music. My cousin's hitchhiked from The tip of Eastern Kentucky to Cincinnati to see their concerts lol
KISS ARMY !!! Have 17 albums 🤘👍✌
I'm confused. Donna is old enough to have seen Kiss when she was a teenager?! Should have been a trip back to memory lane, this one.
The concert shots are from the 70s I saw k
iss I. The late 90s great
It's a compilation video of live concerts and videos several different musicians that played for kiss!!
Great reaction ladies. Yes they were awesome in concert back in the day.
Lulu's facial expressions were priceless!
Merry Christmas 🎅
All right my lovely ladies.... I have seen this band at least eight times and have never been disappointed. Their concerts have always had a lot going on and I'm glad that you had a visual experience to see "the hottest band in the world"... KISS ‼️💯🔥💯🔥🥁🎸🎤🎸🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Fourth grade, bring your music to music class, mark schumann brought his kiss album and mr. Flora played detroit rock city.
Best music class ever!
I saw them around Halloween. They still put on a great show
Nice compilation video.
I love them readheads ~Mathew McConaughey 1993
KISS shows are amazing seen 3 over the years
Kiss has their name on so many products, it's crazy.
My favorite KISS song. Try "Heaven's On Fire" and "Lick It Up".
Now y'all need to check out Detroit Rock City, it's typically the opening song for their shows.
The look on Lulu's face 👀 price less haha 🤣🤣
That video was a compilation they did in the 1990's. You really need to see any YT videos from 2023 Kiss End Of The Road Tour Rock and Roll all Night.
You need to check out KISS Live under the Brooklyn Bridge, one of the best sets.
I always thought the 'I Love It Loud' music video was cool and worth checking out if your looking for another Kiss reaction
"GOD GAVE ROCK AND ROLL TO YOU!" - KISS 💋
It was the Alive version played to the Kiss Extreme Uncensored home video
There weren't any "videos" at the time. It was usually concerts or concert cut-outs.
They close out with this show fun times, good review by u guys 👌😎🤘
Thanks
Warranty on his tongue LOL!🤣
