Please react to their set on The Midnight Special. The visuals of them in their prime and singing live is fabulous. Been a proud member of The Kiss Army since 1975!
50 years of kiss ...73 to 2023. Like kiss or not. Kiss remains one of the biggest and most influential bands of all time...kiss from 75 to 79 were a phenom. Worldwide success
This is the type song that reactors need to be doing when trying to evaluate KISS, this song style is what they are most known and most popular for, thanks for this one!
Kiss goes back to 1973. But it was their landmark KISS ALIVE album(1975) that was the catalyst to meteoric rise to fame! Engineered by none other than Eddie Kramer (Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin etc.) Kiss Alive is a go to for a perspective on just how hungry these guys were to entertain at a very high level. At a KISS show you knew they were going to rock and give you the best show you'd ever see at that time. Check out that whole Kiss Alive album it's worth it!
I was about 10 or 11yrs old when I first heard them!! I've seen them 3 times and they were the best concerts I've ever seen. 50 years later and I still listen to them!!

Strange Ways. God of Thunder ( Off Destroyer lp). I Stole your love. Almost Human ( Love Gun lp). King of the Nighttime World. Parasite. New York Groove. I Want You ( off Alive II album). Got To Choose ( off Alive! Album ). Dirty Living ( Dynasty lp). 🔥
Oh yeah...KISS is amazing and were very innovative to come along with that sound and attitude in the 1970s and pioneered the Hair Metal that would come about in the 1980s a decade later.
Yea the movie Rolemodels had quite a few good Kiss songs in it...I remember Love Gun, Beth, Detroit Rock City and I think Rock n Roll All Night. I was always more into 70s Aerosmith, UFO and Sabbath back in the day but I would stick with more of the 70s Kiss or atleast with the makeup because when the makeup came off they were hard to stomach.
The ACTUAL gems on this (gangbusters!) follow-up to the LEGENDARY: DESTROYER (Bob Ezrin's catapult for this band, into the Rock stratosphere!) are: "Baby Driver"; "Makin' Love"; "Take Me"; "Mr. Speed "; "Love 'em And Leave 'em" 🤘🤘 🔥
I suggest Strutter, God of Thunder& I Stole Your Love(70's. Heaven's on Fire, Lick it Up& Rise To It(80's). Hide Your Heart, I Just Wanna& Forever(90's). For a start.
Such a mad band. Personifies the in your face, outrageous 70s. Calling Dr Love was a 70s concert staple. Love Gene’s vocals and Ace’s guitar. Peter’s drumming is so good here. Brilliant live. Listen to Alive 2 version and any 70s concert on UA-cam 👍
the secret to this great sounding album was it was recorded in a theater, with legendary producer Eddie Kramer. Take that big live sound and put it on a record
I love Kiss and still do. I was into comics and saw this cover when I was in grade 2 and that was it. seen them in concert but saw them when I was 10yrs old in 1980 Dynasty and it blew my mind.. Domino was cool video and tune later on. Love it loud was good as well.
Hi, Biz :) This was the first KISS album so actually bough, back in 1977 with some money so got for my 12th birthday. I had heard a tiny bit of them on the radio in early 75, when I was 9, but I had no clue about the makeup. I think this is the closest to live you will get on any of their studio albums. The thing about KISS is that they're at their best when they're raw. Studio tricks mess with their sound. There is some reverb and polish on this album but most of it sounds like the band.
70's Kiss is so much better than when they stopped wearing makeup. Liked their sound so much better then. "Detroit Rock City" and "Strutter 78" are two of my favorites
