I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment. I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!
Being in New Zealand and installing these for a living, watching this hurts my soul 😅

I’ve been working in HVAC most of my life and the most important steps in the installation is a pressure test and vacuum of the copper lines. You want absolutely 0 air in your lines, which is why I’m iffy about these DIY systems. Although I’m iffy about them I’d like to see how these systems hold up. Keep us updated these please!!
Just commented the same. Most of these “DIY” systems are caveated with a statement that a vacuum has to be pulled on the system for the warranty to be in place.

I have installed ACs that didn't have that DIY copper lines the whole summer and yeah the custom copper lines are a pain in the ass, they tend to leak very easily, but that preloaded makes it look much easier 👌 love your vids by the way!

They're pre-charged. You don't want to cut them. No issues with oil trap, unless you're using extremely long lines or height differences, then you'd add bends.

as a professionsal hvac service tech, i really hope these work out and last! DIY units can be nightmares, and that 5-6k is in labor, not 200 beans in copper. best of luck brother love the content

Being in the field for sometime now I can’t believe that they made ductless units for home owners..For someone like you that is mechanically inclined that’s not bad. I cringed at some things being done just because of being an installer but overall you did a great job for not ever doing that before so bravo!
No vacuum pump or nitrogen pressure test made me cringe too. But if it works that’s sick, easier the better.
@@Legitimint_ also the rolled lineset creates a trap for the oil, typically a 10 foot minimum between the outdoor and indoor unit, no surge protector. But honestly Evan did an awesome job overall. It’s just from a HVAC techs point of view. No hate just things we know that are good to do in the field.

I fully know it's a DIY set and no hate on the install ... the excess line drives my OCD crazy (coming from an HVAC tech) but hey good job my friend, it will help alot to keep that big shop cool!
You should consider thinking about some exhaust fans to draw out fumes. Whether its fuel, paint, etc.
