- On video there is Samsung INR21700-50E 5000mAh but if u want to do similar mod then use Samsung INR21700-50S (S is much better coz allow for higher current)

I try to put 2 samsung 21700 50S to the plastic cover but it not fit the battery space on aircraft, did you mod the plastic cover first?

Initially, I estimated the flight time to be around 40 minutes, but due to some mistakes during my first attempt of this mod, it turned out to be only 36 minutes. The issue arose because I purchased the wrong cells. Specifically, I used Samsung INR21700 50E cells, which can handle a maximum continuous discharge of approximately 10 amps. However, the drone draws about 9 amps during flight, pushing these cells close to their limit.
When a cell is drained close to its maximum current (A), its capacity decreases, and the temperature tends to rise. As a result, the actual capacity for these Samsung cells is only around 4450mAh (count by battery firmware during fly) when drained at approximately 9 amps. To fix it i plan to switch INR21700_50E to INR21700_50S cells, which can handle a continuous discharge of 25 amps. With these upgraded cells, I expect to achieve a true 40-minute flight time.
Additionally, I’ve already ordered a 6200mAh flat cell from AliExpress for my next step. Hopefully, this upgrade will further enhance the drone fly time to let me break my 8000m range with mini 3 pro

@@moskil2 6200mAh from 21700 seems to be fake. It is over theoretical limits of energy in mass unit.
@@PcimOlki Yes, that’s true, but the 6200mAh battery I ordered is not a 21700 cell. The 6200mAh battery I ordered is a flat cell for RC models.

How did you weld cables to cell contacts?

Is it possible to do this trick but with use of 2S lipos with xt60/xt30?
It’s not so easy. You can’t just have an empty DJI battery box with an XT60 plug because every time you disconnect the voltage from the DJI BMS, the BMS gets a ‘death’ flag. This flag must be reset from a PC; otherwise, the battery becomes a ‘brick.’ The only way is to use a standard battery with cells inside and an XT60 connector for extra 2S cells, but it’s complicated. The DJI BMS has a designed capacity saved in its firmware (e.g., 2450mAh). You can connect an extra battery, but after the drone consumes 2450mAh, it will force you to land. That means you need to replace in Firmware the 2450mAh capacity with larger ones to use the extra battery. It’s all possible, but not as straightforward as with some older DJI drones that have XT60 modifications.
@@moskil2 i see. How did you unseal? Didnt had any trouble on SEC3?
@@jayshowto I don’t know when SEC3 is, but I didn’t have any trouble with unsealing and reprogramming the BMS in this case.Anyway in the past, I had a problem with unsealing on a Mini 3 battery, but that was a Chinese replacement, and it was generally more or less broken and unable to fly.
@@moskil2 lucky. New orig mini3 batts have non-default keys. Chinese oem? Do they lock bms if you change the cells?
@@jayshowto I dont think so, btw I had only one non-original Chinese OEM battery, and unsealing was impossible, but probably because that battery was broken in some other way.

Wiadomo dron przekroczy 249g, ale na codzien i tak latam na battery PLUS, a z nimi dron wazy 290g. W tym filmie zmienilem na samsung INR2170-50S, ale to był błąd bo powinienem zmienic na samsung INR21700-50S, wersja S pozwala na wiekszy prąd. Wiec chyba najwieksza bateria jaka sie zmiesci do oryginalnej obudowy to wlascie 5000mah 21700 innej lepszej nie udało mi sie znalesc. Teraz jestem na etapie testowania pakietu 6000mah i 2S z 3850mah, czyli 7700mah, ale to juz wymaga rocinania obudowy baterii

@@123adif123 Nie wiem, czy najlepszy, ale to chyba najwieksza bateria, ktora sie zmiesci w obudowie, nie udało mi sie znalesc zadnej kwadratowej baterii, ktora by sie zmiescila i miała wiekszą pojemnosc niz 5000mah

Nieuszkodzone też się opłaci. Widziałem INR21700-50S po 25 zł. Dużym zyskiem jest uzyskanie zdolności do samodzielnej naprawy.
@@PcimOlki Dokladnie dwa ogniwa Inr21700-50S to jest znikomy koszt, dodatkowo mieszczą sie one w oryginalnej obudowie. 50S to moj plan minimum, ale zamówiłem tez 4x3850mah zeby zbudowac 2s2p bedzie to mialo 7700mah przy wadze około 220gram. Do tego kupilem tez 2x6500mah takze jak dojdą z chin to bede testowal. Moze uda sie poskladac cos co poleci 50minut na jednym ladowaniu
How to unlock this BMS?
@@yuan.flycam you need CP2112 interface its cheap and easy to buy, then u connect battery to PC via CP2112 and unlock bms by DJI Battery Killer app

Yes, i removed flag of "death" by CP2112 + BatteryKiller soft. All you need is G (ground) D (data) C (clock), full pinout is in 6:05

Ta bateria jest zbudowana z oryginalnego BMSa dji ,to nie jest zamiennik. Tak czy siak ja updatów nie robie wiec nie mam problemów z bateriami, ktore mi przestają dzialac :P

Ja też nie instaluje tej ostatniej wersji. Na allegro jest gość co przerabia ale twierdzi że w mini 3 po update też wywala customize

Generally yes. If I disconnect cells from the board and the voltage drops to 0, the firmware locks the battery, rendering it a “brick.” After this happens, I have to use Battery Killer software to reset the error flag. Then, I set the capacity from 2450mAh to 5000mAh, and more or less, it’s now finished and ready to work. After first fly battery firmware count new real capacity
