There's been a quote from the director that Spike isn't confirmed to be dead, but at the same time isn't confirmed to be alive, so in that regard it's up for interpretation. However, if we look at the past injuries Spike's endured, we can see he doesn't even have a scar, whereas Jet does have a scar.
This is why I personally believe that along with Spike being given a cybernetic eye, his body was modified to heal better and faster. Spike even gets shot through the chest in the Bebop movie, yet whoops Vincent's ass the next day, and on three separate occasions Spike wiped out Viscous's goons without much damage to himself. Laughing Bull was wrong on two occasions in regards to Spike's fate, why couldn't he be wrong a third time?
Spike is 27 with a lot of untapped potential as a person, I think the universe would grant him a new chance at life after killing his number one enemy. After all, he's beat the odds several times as it stands, and he didn't even endure much damage when he killed Viscous!
He was shot a couple times and had his stomach slashed while wearing three layers of clothing: his jacket, his vest and his shirt which would surely weaken the attack of the blade.
Spike's not only been through this type of damage before, but way beyond that in the past. There's no reason to believe he's dead besides all the trivial "Julia's lover" or "Viscous's rival" nonsense.
If they ever make a sequel, they need to show Spike moments after Session 26, surrounded by Viscous's goons, except he's at the hospital, where they tell Spike they're ready to serve him. Spike would use that opportunity and completely dismantle the syndicate, ordering the members to leave the syndicate, start all over and live an honest life. Spike wouldn't call Jet and Faye and let them know he's alright, instead he would use that chance and start all over again. That would be the best possible outcome.
This so underrated?? 2 years and it didn’t reach 1M views as it should have
Genuinely so happy, Cowboy Bebop has a pretty small fandom (dunno how that'll be with the live action now) but seeing all these beautiful fanworks brings me a lot of joy 😭💕💕 beautiful job!
Small fandom? Nah. It’s got a huge following. I know plenty of non-anime fans that love this show.

Watch it, and then wonder, "HOW THE FUCK DID THEY SCREW THIS UP?! The animated original while only being 26 episodes long is a BLESSING of a show!"

This is a godsend for Cowboy Bebop fans especially after how things went down with the Netflix adaptation. We Bebop fans needed this amazing animation to cleanse our pallets.
Such great work, blending iconic moments for each character. The worst thing about the awful Netflix show is how all the videos about it are clogging up UA-cam and make it harder to find great videos about the original anime like this one.

If this were the intro to the actual anime, I wouldn’t be surprised. This shows that with these cast of characters there is more to them than meets the eye, and this definitely shows it well. Seems like a perfect modern intro!

From time to time I come back to this animation to get inspiration. Someone said in another comment that if Cowboy Bebop gets an animated remake it should look like this. Yes! Definitely. I also wonder why this does not have more views? Is it because this is so niche due to being Cowboy Bebop? Is it because it’s animation which is also niche on social media by itself?
