I'm dying to play it in VR, I would've got some footage of it last weekend but my friend with a VR just happened to not be home all that weekend when I was in his city RIP
I'll always remember Doom 3's sound design for one reason. I got it on Xbox years and years back, progressed a bit and stopped for the night. Next night i get home with some beer excited to play, roommates were asleep. Load it up, crack a beer and start playing at a decent volume but nothing egregious for the time of night. Let me tell you when I've never heard an in-game sound effect as loud as Doom 3's chainsaw lmao it fucking woke everyone up pissed, and i laughed and laughed. Love the game, thought it was a good spin. Don't care much for the BFG edition. Not the biggest fan of when people retool old games for modern audiences, like the flashlight being shoulder mounted. You're depriving yourself of how the game was meant to be played initially. At least give it a shot before you jump into it, it's really fun. Doesn't deserve all the flack it gets imo.
Also not a fan of the BFG edition. It completely removed the ability to map the D pad to your choice of weapons. The flashlight also had to constantly recharge. It was a distraction.
Or create Doom 4 which is a modern graphiced variant expanding on what happened amidst doom 3s invasion maybe from the perspective of the marines that fought through the base and found the main protagonist*
I didn’t like 3 when it came out because it wasn’t the fast and frantic gameplay of Doom but I’ve grown to appreciate it since. Now I’d give it a solid B+\A-
I remember when this came out i got a new graphics card and was like WHOA THIS IS WHAT GAMES WILL LOOK LIKE. the lighting was crazyfor the day. I remember growing up playing snes and ps1 and the original half life. Doom 3 was like a huge shock 😂😂😂
I actually really like the shoulder-mounted flashlight, BUT I've never understood why they didn't at least make it OPTIONAL. Shoulder-mounted could've even been the default, but have the ability to switch back to the original either/or gun/flashlight mechanic in the options menu. WHY!? Why would they not include that? If someone could enlighten me as to why they didn't, please let me know!
The really need to make Doom scary again, the latest games are fun but man is it arcadey as fuck. I mean for a game being mainly about demons and gore, you'd think it would lean more on the horror vibes?
Agreed, Doom Eternal kinda leaned more into the Evil Dead II style of campy horror comedy, which is fun, but yeah I think I lowkey prefer Doom being more horror driven
Doom 3 is not my favorite of the series, I love 2016 and Eternal, but Doom 3 is very close for me. Only thing I didn't like about the remaster was that the flashlight was something you could have on always, instead of switching to it. Sure it makes more sense, but it draws away from the tension especially in the earlier levels.
*Doom 3 funny enough to me is the most replayable Doom, Doom eternal had too many frustrating parkour segments, horrid movement speed making you feel like a granny and frustrating find the puzzle style bosses as its not you needing to be better but just needing to figure out what you need to expose a random bullet sponge soft spot to kill this enemy this is not a thing in doom 3 as you move well, less stupid parkour more you vs the enemy in bosses not oh i need to kill these demons to unlock the big demons weak spot then i pepper the weak spot till oneday it dies yay...Doom 3 has issues but its still better in many aspects then Doom Eternal was so yeah hoping dark ages fixes that part*
Yeah I enjoyed Doom Eternal but it's definitely the one I feel less compelled to replay because the combat flow and mechanics are super specific making it harder to just hop in and play like 2016 was
I play this on switch. Very impressive. But I remember when it came out i was blown away by the graphics.
John Carmack... an inspiration for software engineers.
DOOM is his son.
Game is fantastic. Within the first minute of moving around and shooting I knew this was going to be great.
Doom 3 is my favorite doom game
Have you tried it in vr? Its outstanding and they improved the gun sounds
@trippyskullz6669 no I haven't. That sounds awesome

I actually crave more games like doom 3. They really need to port the non bfg version

HFS it’s been 20yrs?! We’re getting old, boys
This is my favorite game in the doom series as it was obviously inspired by the original half life

The whole remaster was kinda odd, it was 8 years after DOOM 3, like why not wait til 2014 when it was the 10th anniversary?? lol
I believe you worded this better than me. Perfect ! Down to the last minute detail ! Perfect !
Spooky Dooky 3 and the whiffing waffles shotgun.
I enjoyed the game
I loved Lost. The video game has tie-ins with the show so do a watch thru while you play for max possible immersion and enjoyment

The 2 lost souls was because betruger ran out of budget 😂
If only Swann gave him more money huh, mystery solved! haha
What‘s the background music at around 14:30? That sounds so chilling. Is it a remix of a track from Doom 1?
That is Sonic Clang's rendition of E1M8 from the Classic Doom 3 mod :)
@ thanks man, very good video btw!

Visually the only thing that really doesn’t hold up well are the human character models. Everything else still looks ok.
Doom 3 é um jogo sensacional, pena que eu não tanko jogo de terror kkkkk
doom 3 was soooooooooooo much better than 2016 or eternal
I like Doom 2016 quite a lot as well
Quake 4 > Doom 3
Interesting perspective, I respect it though
Arguable but i get it fam.
