i worked in a shop and never thought dropping a plug in like that could ever mess anything up. bam dodge charger. all new plugs. 1 cylinder dead. pulled the plug and sure as shit. 0 gap. NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER drop them in like that again.
I can't drive a standard anymore because of medical conditions. So my Civic sits. My AWD 2016 2.4 i-Vtec CVT CRV sounds really good in my 98 Civic just stock. A stock 195hp drivtrane in a civic that weighs 1000lb+ less than the CRV. that would be plenty for a fun awd daily civic. And a safer Civic in the snow since I live in snowy States.
@@asianboi000001 no. I sold my Civic but I still have my CRV. It's been great but I had to replace a head gasket even though I have never hit over 4k rpm. No cvt problems.
Why run the risk of just dropping the plugs into the tube and accidentally close the gap you just adjusted?? I cringed a lil bit when u dropped each one 😂😂....... either way good shit man 👍👍
majorkin19 yea I get what your saying lol adjusting them was hard to do so I figured oh well I doubt it made a difference and it’s pulling good so I’m happy haha
GSPD 550 I was really shocked when it hit 194whp I was like 😱! I guessed it would be around 192 but he made some more power out of it and I’m really happy with it. My built engine will be way more power than this but I like how it runs.
GSPD 550 u should be able to you got a better flowing head and probably higher compression run it on 91 with a Hong Kong hurricane on 18 lbs with conservative timing possibly water meth doubt it would cost much
Good content. I'm slowly getting parts together to do this to an eg or ek if I can find a clean one. I would be looking more for 250 on some 440-550 cc injectors ...48 hot .63 compressor if I can find it
Picking up a z6 I’ve heard it’s the same as swapping a y8 mani only difference is the iacv is located on the back compared to the y8s by the throttle body
YEARS of research not one specific place. Everyone always says that the y8 flows better but from the 10+ years playing with these d series the results always speak for themself. The y8 never performed good on any builds i did they just looked cool. The Z6 is so close in design to the skunk2 pro series in flow and design as well. If you do some research into the topic you might be shocked to find out that the y8 manifold has a tendency to lean out cylinder 3 which is NOT GOOD.
@@TexasHondaChannel Well, looks like ill be keeping my eye out for a Z6 manifold then. Wow it really does resemble the Skunk 2 Pro Series Design, thats just shorter and straighter. The Y8 intake looks similar to how the GSR B18C1 has that longer runner section. In a future episode id be interested in seeing you perhaps try a budget intake manifold from ebay. apparently those are a thing now. Thank you for the info!
Ive had the y8 mani work good but its best for unported y7 and y8 heads. If you port out the swirl inducing port differences for max flow, magically the z6 works better. The z6 works best on any tumble theory head (a6, b7, z6) and flows the best overall. For the swirl theory heads velocity is key. The y8's smaller ports provide this and compensate w a larger plenum.
Got stock 90 honda accord lx coupe running cat back system f22a1 motor can i run boost with my obdo system? Not looking to do anything but add turbo and thats it.
What headgasket do you recommend for boost I'm running 12 psi blew the new felpro gasket cause boost creeper up to 18 now getting combustion gas in the radiator had head resurfaced car was professionaly tuned on dyno arp studs etc. Installed the recommended plugs also now I'm stuck should I retry fel pro or honda oem? Or is there a better proven gasket?
James love your vids, really like your "How to" videos. I wanna know what happen to your N/A D series build? Also i currently have a D16y8 with a Brian crower stage 2 cam and spring. Got p29 pistons in it as well. Im in cali so im force to Run stock cat and exhaust. Any idea how much whp i can expect?
RudyG0007 Not really sure never got to dyno my all motor build. I ended up selling that car with that build in it. It ran really strong though! I would try to find a high flow cat if you can legally get away with it. California sucks in my opinion sorry you gotta deal with that crap.
@@TexasHondaChannel well turns out most high flow cats are illegal in cali. They make year make and model cats in cali, with Executive Oerder badges on them. So a high "high flow" cat is literally a oem replacement one🤦🏽♂️ Most i can do is a Aem intake and a Dc shorty header. I have chipped p28. Engine is freshly rebuild as well.
If you go through the video history of this channel, you’ll see he put the turbo in when the car was still automatic. To answer your question, yes, it can be done to an automatic. The transmission will probably blow quicker than a manual would.

Are you selling her ?

I’m from Waco tx and was thinking of putting a turbo on my 99 civic 1.6 5 speed... this makes it seem really tempting
Nice my buddy lives in waco actually if you ever see a black civic gold wheels his name is casey.
James D guy! I love it and I also love that blindfolded head gasket video!
stuart nordstrom Oh thanks! Most people over look them videos I do haha
Just found this channel
Bad ass build
Hope to see it become a vitara build in the near future
majorkin19 You will! It’s my engine I’m building on my back porch 😁
Great video.
That plug gapper....the hole you have key ring through is what you use to adjust to a bigger gap. Used kind of like a bottle opener.
Benjamin Glick I close the gap and slowly open it where it needs to be on typical plugs but it’s at a perfect 0.28 gap I triple checked it.
Good job on the turbo build!
Sweet Dyno video
Cody Smith Thanks
awsome numbers! i like your channel keep it up!
Vagelis 3six Thanks appreciate it

dude me too omfgggg
I was gonna say the same dang thing 😂
Great vid thanks for the info 🙏🔥
70 mill TB with that larger intake would be great . Is this thing still running? I’m about to boost my y7 just because 🤣
Hell yeah man!!! Mo powa!!!
Wish I could get 192 outta my stock D17A1 non-vtec!

Had a stock d17a1 turbo out here make 311 haha you can make 200
The car looks really good! Can't wait till i finish my paint job im doing it panel by panel, but the prep work is taking so long
John Rathamone Prep sucks but it’s what makes or breaks a paint job.!
I love your videos I’m actually in the process of building my d16y7 .. I’m working on brake conversion now

I’m going on a Binge lol watching all ur vids bro
Motivation 😎🇯🇲#Fullsupport
Stunner 876 Thank you 🙏🏻
Was it auto when it was being tuned ?
I have that exact same intake!! I need to know what little bits to get it installed🤔
Picking up a z6 I’ve heard it’s the same as swapping a y8 mani only difference is the iacv is located on the back compared to the y8s by the throttle body
GOOD JOB
Is there any possibility you can recommend where I can purchase d16y8 rocker arm assembly,y8 v tec cam an z6 heads
Dang it man I should’ve put more faith in the D series motor.
you near the dfw bro?
Question, where did you get the Z6 and Y8 Manifold information pertaining to cfm flow? I always heard the Y8 manifold was the best flowing

Papito vtec Thank you will do!
Nice! I might’ve missed it but what was the final torque number?
SirMai O His dyno don’t have the connector for TQ output but he is working on getting the connector for that.
Number must be good since you spin tires lol
What type engine mount you have on and where to get it

RudyG0007 Yea California sucks with their car laws.
Stock ports? About 140whp to 150whp with a good tune, a decent header and at least a s2 pro intake manifold. Hope this helps
How many pounds did it make in the last pull
9psi was the max i did.
Hey I have some questions about my d series, where can I contact you?
also i gotta turbo that id like to install but i dont know what computer to get for a d series
P28
are you running on stock injectors and rail?
Sounds like the dyno man is not very generous
What ecu you using?
Do u have any shirts for ur channel i wanna buy one
What’s the ecu setup
covered it in another video
Is this stock d16y7 or built
Is it worth turbocharging d16y7 non vtec with 167k miles and auto? lol
Im working on a sohc build myself, what turbo are u running. Im planing to run a t28. Turbo
Nice build 👌
Td05. Lol went back and found it from your previous video...
That power in a crx 🤔
Desmond Marshall Would be fast without a doubt
