Proof it’s not the name brand it’s the mechanic!
He built it all from eBay and still fast asf
In some cases.
I’m only 5 minutes in and this video is already perfection. This guys sense of humour is just perfect. 😂
The ending was better XD it was just “OK BYE”
deadass went to comment at 4:45 bout how funny dood is lmaoo
So far he spent about $5000 to get the car where it is now
4:34 i was just about to coment this shit funny, the machingun window got me dead
It cuz he’s Canadian
This is a simple man with a simple dream and I’m living for it
Simple reality. Dreams are for sleeping. :)
"Pool ball!!!!" Was my favorite part lol
@@jaym6466 I'm surprised to see, when I google "pool ball', it's not even a meme? It whacks everything on the table!!! I love it!!!!
@@RustBeltAuto BRUH THE PUN LMFAOO
Awesome video awesome build man love it
This guy is a legend, shows all the annoying bits of a build with great humour.
This is how everything REALLY is when you try to not spend 40k. You need to get creative, and he is…
How has this guy not blown up yet. He’s a badass, with a turbo Honda. 😂
He built the block bro
@@EVOLUTiiONxxxxxX “Blown up” as in like more views. I thought everyone knew this, haha.
Good tuner and correct supporting mods.
He sounds like an old man from the country but looks like a samurai
Because he does honest and hard work. Which is hard to appeal to the majority of people nowadays.
Mechanic/Comedian. Enjoyed the crap out of this. Tuned by Humble Performance!
It actually got tuned twice, and he did a hack job of it. The timing was way too far advanced amongst other things.
@@RustBeltAuto wow, good to know
Humble Texas??
Oh nevermind. Just saw Tulsa
Everything I've seen and heard about Humble has been a shit show. They had my friend's K20 head for over a year, did a valve job but never lubed them so the valves and seats were rusted and had to be re-cut. The ECU Humble added vtec to never actually engaged vtec because they for got TWO components. That and they charge more than most local shops ever would.
this guy is so knowledgeable but so funny at the same time. Love it, honda life
"Okay bye!" Had me in tears....🤭😂🤣
That was a bit jarring when I was so entrenched
Same 😆
best outro ever
At first I thought this video was some kind of hokey joke ... and then this guy goes nuts with some Mcguyver mechanic action as Primus comes on. This guy is awesome! Really knows his stuff and his car.
you have no friends
u know the car inside and out even before you take it apart i need that kind of experience
It’s kinda like he’s built an ek before lol
Nb Miata but he built a sedan
Just wrench as much as possible and don't take shit to a shop unless it's a machine shop...I been learning everything off Google and you tube im 2 motors in and on my 3rd, all had custom stuff had to come up with and im very picky when it comes to security, material and specs....not so much kooks,
That’s the Same thing I tell my crazy mechanic when ever he comes around I’ve been hanging out with him and other Honda friends lately we’ll get together at times and work on who Evers car needs attention I’ve learned a bit lol
this man just said he hopes I have an epileptic seizure from watching his videos. Like Sir, you just earned yourself a Lifetime Subscriber 🤣💯
Lol Honesty is hard to find these days !
I was laughing so hard ...my wife didn't get it.. lol
I can't belive how easy you make it seem, that don't come easy at all. You a master at this art. My respect sir.
This was so fun to watch! Great sense of humour and staying calm working through those crappy parts. Loved that you ripped it at the track as well.
Have you watched it two times or in slow mo, to make the hour?
I love your brutal honesty towards cars and your sense of humor this is what the car community needs 😂🤘🏽
Long time i haven't seen something fun and genuine to watch on UA-cam! In a sea of expensive productions and scripted videos this build video is a gem
Brother. Your sense of humor and humbleness is legendary. Don't ever change, cheers from California.
Good sense of humor and love the great skills you got using cheap parts and make them very useful there are always good things to learn thanks 👍🏾
I've watched almost all of it. I'm at the rear brakes. This is awesome. I'd love to do a budget civic build just to go in deep on a car without blowing a college tuition.
He’s sooooo raw and like a laser straight to the point and has a simple objective to make power- no matter the cost! I’m loving this!!! 🤘🏼🤙🏼
Very impressed with the pre-oiling pressure pod! Also with the overall breadth of your skill set.
Dude that exhaust hack at 21:15 is damn clever!
Yooo for real 😳
Yesssss I was waiting for this comment lmao
Really awesome video, really shows you that its not that simple to turbo a car.
Yup I'm definitely heading for a nightmare when I custom turbo my Toyota Sienna 3.4, hoping for at least 400hp✌️
It actually is lol I’ve seen a ton of people do it in their driveway in a day back in the Honda days.. he actually built the motor though, that’s completely different than just bolting up a turbo kit
@@surfside75 have u done it yet?
Yep especially if you want a long lasting very powerful turbo build
It's actually quite simple to turbo a car if you're mechanically inclined, since there's tons of material online to use as guidance.
However optimizing the whole contraption and making it run properly can only be done by fine tuning and that's where knowledge, time and experience come in.
I love this channel. A real mechanic doing MECHANIC WORK, not just talking all video. We want to see actual mechanical work being done and these videos are satisfying to watch.
This is by far the best video I've seen of putting a turbo on a civic. No bs talking and dude just doing his thing. 👍
Those Civic turbos from eBay actually work very well with a ton of modifications on your part.❤️👍👍
You’ve successfully talked me out of building a Honda
A lot cheaper and better to just work on something that has more than 1.6 liters lmao
This guy is an absolute legend, really knows his stuff and is actually funny. Subscribed👍🏻
I love the way you pre-pressurized the oil system.
405 on a d16 cheap built that impressive ❤️
That was an awesome video bro loved it 👌🏻
Love it as well
Man, this is so hilarious! Language is colorful to the tee! And the nit pickiness is from up high! Really great to watch. Keep it up! It's good to see someone being so exacting about the things he works with.
EDIT: The skill and knowledge level is off the charts!
I've watched this video so many times. Your editing style, humor, and build ethic is very entertaining.
Love his attitude. Def need him around the shop👍
As a professional Honda/Acura tech ..my whole life....this guy has got mad skills....I really enjoyed his video/build.....but save the headaches.. start with a K series and be done with it.....
@@danonorstrom6763 I totally agree…atm my nephew has a k20a2 + trans waiting for me…just need to find a shell to drop it into
I enjoyed you swearing at the Chinese made shait more than the civic being built XD
Dude I would watch your commentary on everything. Absolutely perfect
This has me rolling and it was top notch intro, camera rolls upside down and say cheap Chinese build but refixes everything that was sent to his house.....classic!
I don’t own a Honda but damn this was entertaining! Cool build man love the mix match of everything an how you made it all work good together
You sir I think are about to blow up even more 👍🏼👏🏻
I'm scared. 😯
I watched your video from start to finish, thank you for teaching me something different, and can't wait to see you get big on here.
One of the best honda builds on UA-cam. I feel these reactions to all the little mishaps in the middle of my soul when working on my car haha.
i love it bro! im about to replace my gearbox with a second hand one that i just recently bought. definitely gunna be putting up your vid as reference! keep it up bro!
😁
Love the sohc Hondas and Alex at humble is the man
First video I've been able to watch from start to finish for a long time.. 11/10
Absolutely beautiful job. This man know what he is doing.
Uh, oh. Boostedboiz might have some competition here. 😂
Video had me rolling good stuff!
Bro this video is perfect. Funny, entertaining, shows the stuff you’ll run into, has cleaver tips. 10/10 👏
I really loved this video. It's really has it all. The build details are amazing, actually showing the whole process of dialing stuff in.
The best hour spent of my life 😂😂😂 dudes sense of humor is great
This is legendary… some of the speech pattern reminds me of Homer Simpson…
The mechanical skill, video editing and comedy makes this video absolutely perfect.
Literally
I love your sense of humor I'm loving this build
Love the build! As a circle track ex 4 banger class racer you can oil starve the oil pickup tube by turning left hard. Went threw 3 d series z6s before I realized it was an oil windage issue and even with an extra quart and a half, (Shaffer's 20w50) helped. But what fixed the problem was me making a trap door windage box inside of the pan to help keep oil to stay around the pickup tube. Never popped a motor after 2 years when the others would only last 2 or so race nights before rod knocking. My race engines always got new bearings and rings. My class was very limited to modification, so refreshing up the old engines was the biggest power adder. Only reason I say this is because of the autocross you were doing. Great build and love the attention to detail on making the cheaper ebay parts work great. Subbed!
Nice to know. Head lift issues are priority now. Still lifted head after oversized studs. Dropped total advance 6 more degrees @ about 20 for 24 psi. Seems to be holding now. Installing oil cooler next I think. Maybe that extra quart will help?
@@RustBeltAuto yes boosted D's dont like much timing, my friend has the same issue lifting the head with to much timming but doesn't have the big stud kit. I cant believe you still have the issue with the bigger studs! You can always turn the timing down and add more boost? But it seems that your in need of a turbo cam that has more overlap so the valves stay open longer and the air can get in and out with out pushing the head up. Dont know for sure but the guy I bought my car from has a build autocross eg hatch with a vitara d, and he picked up 80whp with a turbo stage 2 cam and valve springs n retainers, same boost and all. Dyno proven
@@Wreckedekcoupe high overlap is best for non turbo cars. Satisfied with the power it has. Decreased ignition timing changes location of peak pressure so there is less force on the head. You can lower boost pressure for the same effect, but get less power that way. Tuners get this wrong, because there is no pressure transducer in the head, and no measurement to go by. They are all guessing.
@@RustBeltAuto wow 😮 you 2 guys are so knowledgeable. Thank you 🙏
@@RustBeltAuto d16 don't like a lot of timing small bore in general
Bro you’re absolutely awesome ! 😭🤣 I’m in tears
It will probably help you live longer. Sweet dreams!
@@RustBeltAuto nice video. Wondering if you have any tips for me. I have a ep1 d14z6 1.4 non vtec and I want a bit more zoom. Is there anything worth while doing?
@@jamesoliver9130 get a motorcycle, or a different car? Most people would say k24 or something. I say leave the thing alone.
@@RustBeltAuto I thought as much. Maybe I will just get the type s with the k20a2 engine I believe. Thanks for the reply and keep doing your stuff!
@@jamesoliver9130 it is all in what you want to do. It is fun, a learning experience for sure and somewhat of another type of addiction when it comes to these cars as no matter what you'll keep wanting more. I got an EJ8 with a turbo Y8 that I want to keep all original cause this car literally is perfect but my GTX3071 on a GSR or K series in it would be nice too.
The noise of that turbo towards the end. What a bad ass build.
Probably one of the greatest UA-cam videos I’ve ever watched in my life!
amazing video
Šhælóm
AHHAHAHAHA why ur here
sounds like jordan peterson teaching you how to build his 400hp civic
That air trick for the leak is golden gonna fire up the compressor and hit up the crx to find my leaks most likely the seam sealer as well
Just got myself a dx hopefully I can swap with a B16 engine in it.
"I'm gonna build on this piece of fancy" LMFAOOOO 💀💀
Best Honda Build video EVER!!. Perfect on the details
I wish this dude was my next door neighbor!!!!! Genius!!!
27:41 That outro tho...
Ok bye 😭
Love this Gentleman's resourcefulness, and knowledge. The best part was when he was gapping cars on track that cost 3 times as much as the mini monster way to go!.
I saw another guy do a cheap ebay turbo build and he only cranked out 300hp. It's always nice to see someone else out there who knows what they're doing.
Dude I just discovered your Channel and it clearly made my day ! I love your content and how you solve every issues on this build. Cheers from France
Everything about this is incredible
Incredible video buddy! Doing the whole process and watching with you was great!
"ok bye" thats the best outro ive ever heard
Bro actually the algorithm pushed this to all of us real quick. keep making badass cars and posting them on youtube youll blow up and gain alot of subs
the knowledge the skills are awesome, this guy amazes me. nice build sir.
Loved the video start to finish. Awesome build.
god i'm so thankful to find out that these issues are common, great build
i love your commentary throughout this
This is what I’ve been waiting for, no BS. Good stuff dude.
This is the guy I need to help me build my civic 🙏🏽
Thanks I thoroughly enjoyed the video! Great video quality and humor.
That two step was so clean and perfect.
One of the best videos I’ve seen 😂 loved the entire thing!!
Bad ass video! This video literally wraps up his entire turbo build! Sick dude!
This is the typa Honda guy you want to be friends with extremely knowledgeable about his platform and seemingly a very down to earth dood overall kudos to you good sir !
Before this, I was actually into old school muscle, and Harleys, and stuff. I can make them sing. Chose to build this instead of a muscle car for all kinds of fantastic reasons. 🙂
@@RustBeltAuto Yea no shit that d16 was singing amazing grace!I can only imagine what harmony would come out those carbureted engines keep up the content man got yourself new subscriber on board !
Great video, man you sure tackle a bunch of things and don't procrastinate as much as I do.
That exhaust sounds fantastic!
This video is actually the best honda related video i have even seen! His sense of humour is awesome 👌 OK BYE 👋
Absolutely in love with the car my guy
This is now my favorite video on UA-cam.
I really enjoyed this video. Love the sarcasme and humor 😃😃. Good content. And very straight forward build keep it up.
I like ur technique for finding water leaks!!!
CONGRATULATIONS BRO!!!!! SUCH A SICK BUILD.
And then to be tuned by humble performance
Nice build man 👍🤙🏼
Man is a genius I wish that one day I may acquire as much knowledge as him
I had to watch this twice, at first I was just confused, the jokes just flying around like nothing, the actual mechanical info (also building turbo D16) and
STUTUTUTUTUTU
this is pure gold man
This video is amazing. Your skill is very apparent. Thank you
Wanted to do a rebuild and a Turbo build on my car and was kinda scared and anxious but after watching this dude build and turbo his Honda it looks kinda fun😂😅
Just beautiful, this man is an absolute genius and very funny. The northern accent is great
I must say bro....this is thee best build video I've ever seen!!!Cool sense of humor and GREAT BUILD SKILLS!!
Thank you.
I’m loving this video so far. It’s great to see that you have the exact same motor I do😂😂
So funny 😂 yet so enjoyable to watch and was entertaining. Great video mate!!
That drone fix was sick
