This is a 50 trim ebay special. Spools pretty quick so i think its a great size. Slightly smaller maybe ideal for a track day setup. Especially at lower boost levels.
Man I feel you with this timing on the y7/y8.... Its horrible and you read that if you change to a z6 timing gear it fixes it all... Idk what to do I don't have access to a Dyno so I can't really tune ignition maps. I mean I can make a det can and all of that but I'm just unsure... Do I time it at 12 and what the ignition maps are after that ok? Im so confused.
It all depends on your setup. Sync at 12 yes for the y8. 16 for most other stuff. Certain factors like e85 stronger head gasket setups. Intercooler size. Really only way to know for sure is dyno.
Most likely a long while if your tune was on point. The crank and head are good for about 600hp stock your weak link is the rods and pistons are only good for around 225hp. So don't go crazy and you should be good
@@mradidasppkfrmMCst yes with a catalytic converter and resonator in the exhaust, and again a spot on tune. You would definitely want to be pre-tested before paying the state for the smog checks.
You def need bigger injectors for a port injection car. Fuel pump probably. Most important thing is the lines. Stock lines get super messed up by e85. Honestly if you could I would try to run E30. It's what I run in my mustang I got some vids of on my channel. Yeah E30 isn't quite as fast but it's definitely alot more friendly. E85 runs really dirty, gets terrible mileage, eats apart whatever it can in the engine and can be unreliable.
Also Something I've learned running ethanol is if you can modify the fuel line or gas tank with a drain plug or something to get fuel from. When you fill up with ethanol just watch your oar on a laptop or tuner. If it starts to drop from -1 to anything closer to 0 you know you have bad ethanol. You can either carry a tester kit with octane booster and just do the math and add octane booster or use the drain plug to get rid of the fuel.
@@abbas674 yeah blows my mind how people will spend all kinds of money and then skimp on a ten dollar hose that's gonna crack after a few months of running straight ethanol.
Car was swapped for a Vitara built block. The stock engine still in my shed doing fine. The Vitara build spun a bearing after some highboost ethanol pulls at Hday. I didn't change the oil enough and and i daily drove it so two weeks after hday i heard the bearing. Gonna be rebuilding it with a 4piston racing oil pump and an oil cooler system few other things too. Checkout our TikTok and instagram
Nice video man! Every lil bit of advice is priceless to the community
