Fiskars was founded in 1649 and since then they are producing woodsmen tools ranging from splitting over sawing to cutting. Of course they know what they're doing.
I have this exact same axe that I've used for the past 3 years because I got tired of wooden handles splitting on me. I haven't had to sharpen it yet and it works as good now as it did when I bought it 3 years ago. Well worth the $50 CAD I paid for it.
I have been using the X15 for roughly 5yrs now and it has always performed well. Easily did up enough wood in a few hours to accommodate 7 people for a week in the bush. The metal Fiskars/Gerber uses is "soft" and tends to dull, chip and round off quickly but it sharpens back to better then new with a few passes using a large sharpening block.
Awesome and informative stuff my dude! I appreciate you testing it in all sorts of common and uncommon ways I get the impression you’re probably the most qualified to review axes given your environment and likeliness that you had to split logs for regular use.
Both excellent tools but the Husky that he says is his favorite will be cheaper every time, and they’re proven toughest. How do I know for sure? I work at the laboratory at THD :)
Taras, do you have a forest? And maybe it would make for an interesting video if you show us how you do your afforestation. When the time is right of course.

yes I have it, it’s the best out there, splitting huge logs in no time and effort
I'd to see you test these axes on hard wood like oak. Whatever type of wood you're splitting looks really soft and easy to split.
We use these axes every timen we go in the woods . Perfect to split/chop wood. Worthy to buy
