David Gilmore may not be the most technical guitar player like Hendrix or Eddie Van Halen but! No-one, No-one! can evoke such emotions playing guitar like David Gilmore
Tears are appropriate - this song is about nostalgia, melancholy, regrets over having made mistakes, looking wistfully back on better times. I'm 65, and it bites a little harder every year. But it's so heart-achingly beautiful, I happily listen though it makes me cry every time. Thanks for not interrupting David's solo.
I guess I’m the old guy so far at 72, and I have cried many times listening to this masterpiece. I really believe that a person who can listen to this song and not be emotional….has a real problem and needs help. If you have lived a life and never been hurt, rejected, let down, betrayed, lied to, miss used, taken for granted, used, or abused….then perhaps this song means nothing to you…..but for the rest of us…this song hits home. Beautiful reaction young lady. It was real and it was powerful. God bless you.👍🙏❤️🇨🇦
It's my favorite song of all time. It makes me cry every time, so bittersweet... like life itself, it's just a masterpiece ❤️ You reminded me so much of myself, you reqct to it the same way I do 🥹❤️❤️❤️ Muchos besos desde España, guapísima (still with tears on my eyes, it never fails)
David Gilmour was playing a Jedsen lap steel guitar. I'm always glad when people do the live version instead of the studio version of this particular song so they see he's not just playing a regular guitar. That's what people assume when they hear the studio version.
the acoustic interlude he plays @ 3:46 is really not that hard to play but to play it with the simple intense mastery, as he does.... is why I'm in tears.
Lovely reaction. Pink Floyd effects so many of us on an emotional level like no other band does. I've been listening to Pink Floyd for over 50 years now and I hope you will continue your journey with them.
The best thing about Pink Floyd's music is that you don't just hear it, you don't just see it, you also can feel it. Their songs speak to many many of us and gets us to reflect on our lives. That is what brings the tears to our eyes. It's OK to cry, it brings a tear to our eyes too.
Great reaction! Pink Floyd has this ability to pull the emotional strings it happens to us all, I've been listening to pink floyd for 35 years and every day I listen to some song, and many reactions
It's a pedal steel guitar, a development of the lap steel guitar, which was a development of the Hawaiian slide guitar. Played with a 'steel' or slide which allows for the continuous slide between notes. Wikipedia has a good article on it. But the way Gilmour plays it, that's beyond words.
Have to say but davids performance in this properly recorded concert in 94' was absolutely amazing. his voice was as close to perfect as possible , but he did it for 3 hours. Best concert of all time and i went to jewels spirit concert she was mind boggling she was even more perfect than her CD if u can believe that, but this pink floyd concert was the best.
It’s ok to cry . Pink Floyd and David Gilmours playing definitely pulls the emotions out of people. Great song .

I’m 70 and I still puddle up listening to this beautiful song……so cry darling cry..

I have cried many times over Pink Floyd the music is so emotional that's what music is supposed to do give you a reaction!!!!
In a world where most wear a mask, it is a privilege to see the soul. All the best...
If David Gilmour governed the world and made speeches using his guitar there would be peace on Earth
You have a heart...that's good! All the best !
