You’ll be hard pressed to find anything to top the musical force of nature that is Pink Floyd. They are at a whole different level and always will be. Having been at the Pulse concert in 1994 I reckon I’m well qualified to speak on the matter.
The two golden laser's .. only two in the world in 1994 £2.2 million each an Pink Floyd deserved them to add to a monumental light show with this monumental tune ! Floyd for life an beyond .. 1000 years from now whatever species that live on this planet will still be watching this Pulse concert in awe !
Listening to Pink Floyd is like free therapy and it's beyond great that these wonderful people allow their music to be shared and enjoyed. And if you come across the Pulse concert DVD in a bin buy it you won't be disappointed at he $10 - $15 you'll spend.
Thank you and the others who do reaction to the music of my time, it brings a tear to this old dudes eye. Yall are like the folks that rebuilds classic cars back to life!
Stick with this amazing Pulse concert. Every song shines, and the light show keeps getting better and better, believe it or not. Try One Of These Days next----it will blow your socks off. Then go slow with the beautiful song High Hopes. Keep up your great work; it's appreciated.
I Agree anything from pulse concert is awesome! They spent almost 100 million on stage and light show. Believe me it was well worth every penny! Keep Talking, Wish you were here, Time, Money all from Pulse

I think if you ask ANY guitarist or guitar lover, David Gilmour is in their top 5. Across all genres. Hardrock, classical, blues, coun... well maybe not country 🤪
You are spot on about Pink Floyd being innovators but the early seventies were a time of innovation in music with bands reinventing what an album format could be, particularly in the genre of progressive rock. Some of what these bands like Floyd, Yes, Genesis, ELP did (without many of the electronic musical and recording advantages of the present day) far exceeds the scope of what bands are producing now which is why they are so well respected by those like Rush, Porcupine Tree, Dream Theater and others who stood on their shoulders. As someone who was lucky enough to attend this concert this is one of my favourite tracks from the gig along with the closer ‘Run Like Hell’. Gilmours guitar at the beginning and end of Sorrow vibrated every molecule of your body. The whole gig was an amazing experience that left us almost dumbstruck walking back to the tube.
Another wonderful reaction Red. Yes, the whole show is great and the laser show on Sorrow in particular fits so perfectly. Then you have the maestro, David Gilmour making his guitar literally talk..... what could be better?
I saw this concert two nights in a row at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal. During this song, you could almost feel the sound going through your whole body. The sound of the guitar seemed to revolve around us because of the quadraphonic sound system. It was a memorable show.
I wanted to go to that concert so bad here in Dallas where I live. By the time I was going to get tickets they had been sold out for a long time before 😢 so now I have the Pulse DVD set that I can watch and on my killer entertainment center 😂
The lighting designer was Marc Brickman, who has done many concerts including Pink Floyd's previous concert, "Delicate Sound of Thunder", David Gilmour's solo "Remember That Night" (I was there when they filmed that one), and shows from Pet Shop Boys, Nine Inch Nails and Hans Zimmer, among others. He was also a lighting consultant on movies such as The Running Man, A.I. Artificial Intelligence and Minority Report. So he knows his stuff.
Brickman is on deck again with David Gilmour for his current tour too. Lots of the same effects, including the white flashes in the solo on this song, but also quite a few new ones. Saw David Gilmour in Rome last month.
well done on another great pink floyd reaction, the whole pulse concert is amazing, id recommend you try COMING BACK TO LIFE and if you want to hear those backing singers really shine then you definetly should try GREAT GIG IN THE SKY, both from the pulse concert, im sure you will enjoy both aswell as many others
Pink Floyd are innovators in may arenas. Stage, lighting, special effects. However their greatest innovation is the story building. As artists they use their music to tell stories. Every one on stage builds their particular piece of the overall story. Whether it is the the back ground singers or to the secondary musicians(drummers, keyboardists, or random instrumentalists). Every one involved with the with the stage show builds the final story. Sorrow, Comfortably Numb, and High Hopes are the Supreme exams of this.
Great reaction!! But!!!1 You can't stop reacting to the Pulse concert now, you've barely scratched the surface!!!! The entire show amounted to the greatest live performance EVER!!! From then opening with Shine on You crazy Diamond to the closing Run Like Hell!!! They even perform the entirety of their classic album: The Dark Side of The Moon, which you may need to split into 2 parts. More!! More!! More!! More!!
I love the fact that you enjoy discovering the roots of these genres . This progressive rock that you are enjoying, in my opinion, really started with King Crimson. Court of the Crimson King is an album worth your time checking out.
How about that indeed! RHN, Gilmour has a unique ability to express in fewer notes, what many guitarists fail to achieve with way more notes. I love the intro and outro to Sorrow, it's a great song, especially live. You're right, re: You Tube blockers, Rick Beato did a great piece on it, citing notorious blockers, even appeared before the Senate to put forward the rectors case. Pink Floyd I think get it. They've "dined out" on vinyl sales, CD sales, never needed to discount their product. Why not embrace streams and exposure to new audiences.
Delighted to subscribe and watch your experience travelling down the Pink Floyd rabbit hole! PF is something beyond music, and as you live and grow, the words repeatedly take on new meanings, and as a result the music stays important for your entire life.
Wow! This is one of my favorite performances from the Pulse concert, but I've never seen this particular remastered version before, which I think is superior to every other video of this I've watched. 'Sorrow' is just so intense, and I love how the whole band is jamming at the end. David Gilmour is one of my favorite guitarists, and his haunting vocal style also is a defining aspect of Pink Floyd songs. I was fortunate enough to see him live in concert in 2016 on his solo tour that year. Today, David Gilmour has just released another solo album, called 'Luck & Strange' and is currently touring it. It's been getting rave reviews. If you ever want to react to something current by David Gilmour, I suggest the music video to the song 'Between Two Points.' The video is just beautiful, and it features David's daughter, Romany, singing lead and playing harp (David provides a gorgeous guitar solo, as well).
Nice one. Been a while since I played that song. Me, thinks I need to dig the tabs out of the archives. A definitive post Waters Pink Floyd song, and a fantastic performance.
Personally I like this solo better than Comfortably Numb. Glad you had your headphones turned up, I was at this concert and it was a lot louder than the video suggests, you could feel the music hitting you, it was brilliant. I always loved the line "There's a silence that speaks so much louder than words of promises broken", sadly so true.
I love how at the end you went yeah how about that? Yup lost the words lol which happens to be a name of another one of their songs ha ha ha but that’s exactly the reaction that most people have. What do you say there’s not much you could say it’s just what❤️❤️❤️
I was on the concert. It was the Pulse Tour in 1994. Can you react Pink Floyd "Echoes" live in Dansk or from Pulse concert "run like hell"? Great reaction and greetings from germany.
Hi! 51st like! 🙂I saw the “new” PINK FLOYD for the first of my 3 times in 1987 on The Momentary Lapse of Reason tour in Austin, TEXAS. Hands down the best concert I’d ever seen and I’ve seen A LOT. Not even my favorite band. It was mind blowing and I was a concert veteran of all the big Rock bands by this point. I’d seen RUSH alone probably 5 times by then and they are just ONE band. To this day it remains the one show that stands out over everyone else. That’s hard for me to say too. I’ve seen a bunch of incredible, Classic, Hard Rock, bands and concerts on some of their most famous tours. It was nuts and I’m hardcore RUSH among others. I saw peak PANTERA in a CLUB in TEXAS right before Vulgar was released! Now THAT was the best small show I’ve seen, but it was several years later. That FLOYD show was mind bendingly beautiful. Still untouched as my best show. They were YEARS ahead of everybody and I recognized that at time. I knew I wasn’t going to see a concert surpassing that scale simply because the technology wouldn’t be available for at least 10 years minimum. It was simply WOW! 🤯
Feel the same way. Saw the show in Chicago in ‘87. Mind bending visual and surround sound in a flippin’ arena!! Have not seen or heard or “felt” anything like it since. Rush comes damn close and the perfection is there. But my lord that was incredible! Pulse at Soldier Field was incredible too don’t get me wrong, but was not as intimate up close and personal.! Love it!
It'll be interesting to see if the attitude towards reaction channels stays the same now that Pink Floyd have sold their music catalog to Sony. This is my favourite song from Pulse. Every time I see it or hear it I have to pick up my guitar and play along with it! 😆
You notice on stage, there is an extra drummer, keyboardist, and guitar in addition to the original members. There are many tracks on most of the Pink Floyd songs, and pulling off a performance that has lots of overdubs is impossible alone, unless you just play along with pre recorded tracks (cheating). The song in a live setting has to be played live.
Based on things you have reacted to previously and commented that you'd enjoyed the sound of, the two tracks so far seem to have made some contribution to your Pink Floyd journey, the scope for future listening pleasure is vast, enjoy!
So far you have only listened to later Pink Floyd tracks, which are themselves very good. But the real meat is in the earlier works when the musical and lyrical genius was at it's peak and the synergy was more than the sum of the parts. Your musical education is incomplete until you have listened to Dark Side of the Moon, in it's entirety from start to finish. There is a reason it remains the highest selling album of all time, it is pure genius. It is a complete work, not group of songs. Each track flows into the next and it tells a story. They do all tracks from Dark Side in this concert, but you really should listen to the studio version first, Then there is Meddle, which came out prior to Dark Side, and Wish You Were Here which came out after Dark side. Dig into these 3 albums to really get a sense of the Floyd experience. One of the primary sources of the musical genius is David Gilmour (lead guitar and vocals), and he is right now on tour in NYC this week, doing songs from his latest album and many Floyd tunes as well. He does Sorrow, High Hopes and Comfortably Numb in the sets. The uploads from concert goers are terrible audio recorded on cell phones, but here is David and the tour band doing a song from his latest album - recorded properly: ua-cam.com/video/GcMtQbyokzs/v-deo.html ( David Gilmour - The Piper's Call (Later... with Jools Holland) ) Not bad for being 78 years young! Oh and the girl in the green dress is David's daughter Romany, who has inherited both his looks and some of that musical magic - she sings lead on two songs from the album.
Well at this point it's pretty obvious that you're locked in your curiosity has peaked and resistance is futile and from this day forward you will be known as a Floyd fanatic two quick things to note in the heights of their career they had the largest and most expensive light show in the industry and always remember this group started out in the mid-60s and obviously as you are discovering the 60s and 70s was a completely different time and was a magically creative era in time there is a song from that era I would love to see you do a reaction to all women go crazy over this the name of the group is called player. And the name of the song is. Baby come back I would just love to see you do a reaction to that because it is truly an iconic performance there is a video of them doing a performance of it I'm sure it will be the most popular viewed one hope to see you react to it
Gilmore has brought Floyds music on his own shoulders to new generations without any /or one of the original members of the band. He always had the soul of the band.

The innovation they did in the studio changed music. Their sound had to be invented by themselves because it didn't exist.
