To all the heartbroken ..... Just realize that we are all victims of the razors edge ..... go to a roadside diner or hotel. Order some beers, eat a hot soup and a burger with fries. Stare at the fire and realize that life goes by so quickly, so keep the faith and keep playin the game! The best and only advice ..... honestly.

the Midnight at the Lost and Found was my First Album Ever. It'll always have a Special place in my heart. I Saw in an Old Record Store I ducked into get away from some Bullies. I found it and Bought with my Allowance. it took every Dime I Earn over a Week but I loved it. I Still have it in my Room 30 year later.

I completely agree, and maybe i am weird because i mostly listen to 80's music and also mostly watch 80's movies. I have a hard time relating to the last 25 years of entertainment (i am born in 1970).
Your not weird at all...But I do think that Bat out of hell and Bat out of hell II are his best work. But I have always really enjoyed his 80's material without Jim Steinman. I have so many fond memories of listening to all of Meat Loaf's music growing up.
I love the Bat albums, but for the 80s albums I’m partial to Bad Attitude- Sailor to the Siren, Surfs Up, Nowhere Fast. There are some great songs on it. In fact, Surfs Up morphed into Objects in the Rearview Mirror…

The entire Midnight album hits as hard as a sledge hard IMO.
It was filmed mainly on Weston Green, Thames Ditton. The house with the yellow door was my family home, growing up and the crew used it as a base for the day!
My boys 1 and he goes to sleep to this just like his dad before him. Gotta thank my dad for introducing me to meatloaf when I was young.

Always love this video. I worked in Operating Theatres with the same lights! Bloody things! Razors Eddie was so appropriate! To change a light bulb was terrifying! I use to play Razors Edge! Lol! The front glass had to be removed first via hex screw! It would literally fall out! Then the bulb! Any human skin oils on the bulb & it would blow in an hour! Then, you had to replace the glass! Trust me! I played Meat! Gloves on, over matress! Thankfully, never had an issue! Met Meat! He gave me his personalised plectrum! What a gent! Love him always!

I have strong memories of this song, and the album. I got the cassette (illegally - stolen to order I think) and played it to near death. I was about 14. Im sure the cassette inlay (in the UK) didn't have the lyrics or it offered a free poster; and if you sent a SAS (self addressed stamped envelope) envelope then the record company posted you a lyrics sheet or a poster. I posted it of and waited - expectantly. I got back a picture that was half the size of an A4. I was a little disappointed. It did go up on my wall though and there it stayed for years. I'm sure I used the envelope as backing and tacked the picture to the wall on top of the envelope. Later I got a personal cassette player and I remember trudging through the snow, walking to the baths (swimming pool) for morning training at half past six and listening to this. I knew it inside out.
How so mine was a very shit paper round that felt like base camp on Everest lol

My girlfriend's mum is the girl. It was filmed on Gigs Hill Green in Thames Ditton Surrey in May 1982.
You sure it wasn't May 83, the album came out September 83, Meat was on tour May 82. The album wasn't even recorded until mid 1983.

One thing that's bugged me about this song since ever is the fact that you can hear some guitar noodling in the last few seconds. That's not some radio edit. That's just how it is. Something else was about to happen, and then the plug was pulled. It's like if Bat Out of Hell never had the crash. We'll never know what happened next. Same thing happened with David Bowie's Blackstar, which apparently had its intro snipped off so that it fit into ten minutes. Will we ever get to hear it?

Some places on youtube the song live is heavier.. begins with tribal drum beat kinda thing with some almost sci-fi keyboard.
