First time I heard this song was Rock Band 1.. i had 3 young sons. I remember the yells from downstairs...Mom, we need a singer😅😢 i cant sing but have lots of memories from this game. This song was the only song I didnt know, I love it! It stands out as something musically I heard from my kids❤❤❤
The first time I ever saw this band was on live television in New York City in a concert that was being broadcast from Central Park. I remember being blown away by the level of emotion in the performance.
Oh man a woman who is this good looking and is this talented is radioactive my man!, lol. This is minimalist rock at its purest and Wonderful essence...BTW, I'm actually quite sure that lead guitarist is Sid Vicious' illegitimate kid. 🤣It's music like this that breathes life into this poor old soul, You really digged up some real good shit here daX...And Pat Benatar and Chrissie Hynde?...I was thinking the same damn thing...and chills? oh you bet...Keep it coming my man, Your reaction on this was great too, AS ALWAYS!👍I may comment some more, It's just that I got to go cook right now but man, This was just great...Happy trails, for now..................💫
Great reaction and analysis! Looks like i get to tell the story behind the video this time, since no one has yet. Allegedly, this song was written by Karen O for her boyfriend. When the video shoot was happening, he was supposed to be there but never showed up. So she's crying real tears looking for him in the audience. Then they broke up, i think.
A great song and a great band. They have no bass player. The low register stuff is variously keyboard bass, loops, and octave-doubling gizmos on the guitar.
Lucky guy, being able to listen to Maps for the first time.
First time I watched this music video and noticed that she was crying while keeping that beautiful and crisp vocals, I cried too.
Post punk always sounds so modern and retro at the same time.
Great breakdown and reaction. This song is pure emotion.

Love the band, their albums are great but they're one of those bands that are twice as good live, bringing incredible energy
I haven't listened to YYY's in a while, but everytime I do I'm reminded I need to listen more. Great band and a lot of good songs.
For the record, the guitarist is Nick Zinner and the drummer is Brian Chase.
Thx
😁👍🙏💖
This is one of my favorite songs ever, her voice, the drums and the guitar all working so good together.
This song kicks me in the guts everytime i hear it
As a person who got to hang with them on their off days I can say it was just a perfect fit for all of them
Any Nick Zinner stories? 🙂
@@presence5426 I don't know if there are any stories. Just a bunch of bros hanging out but with their own lives as well
you should hear her vocals on the swans' song "song for a warrior". she does an amazing job on that one. karen o just plain rules, always has.
Did you notice in her dress that Cupid's arrows were in her? So that explains her obsession with the love. It took me YEARS to notice it.
Absolutely loved this song, and your breakdown reaction!
Thx
I got really into this band. The Sweets, Heads Will Roll, Miles Away, Sealings, YControl, 10 x 10, and more really good songs by them
Heads Will Roll video is a classic
Y Control

Thanks much, Harold. Isn’t it a treat to actually find someone new who has serious quality?!
😉
If you can't crank up the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and enjoy it, you're just boring.
@daxmusic check out the studio version of Rockers to Swallow. You'll be even more impressed with Karen O.

The gypsies had no homes, the YYY's had no bass. But every good band has a gizmo or two.
