Here I remove my old Kenda K270 rear tire which is still a good 85-90% tread life left.
The K270 is an amazing tire but I want to try something more aggressive out on the terrain and style we ride.
I only try to show highlights of removal and install here and not an entire removal and install.

Hi, I'm a commercial tire technician. Use Murphy's oil soap on the beads to prevent tearing. Push the bottom down into the drop center as you pry the top side over. Also, I just bought a 2020 crf250l :)

I just put the Tusk DSport Adventure on the front and rear on my new CRF250L this morning and then did a 40mile loop to see how they did on the road. Have not hit the dirt yet. I ran K270s for years on my Yamaha XT350. Only have 100miles on the new bike but have been doing a lot of accessories right away to set it up for the back roads and trails.

I'm gonna hit some good single track tomorrow and see how the Dsport tire feels compared to the K270.
I'll probably run it at 15 psi since it a really hard compound and I have rim locks.
15s still high but better then 20+
Installed my dsports on my 450L last night and that was the most difficult thing i have ever had to do. i had 3 spoons, no bead pro or buddy, i used baby powder and windex. getting that valve stem in the hole almost broke my fingers. took a quick street ride and they feel good, going to test them out in dirt and mud later today. you really made this process look easy. They're fantastic tires for sure. On and offroad. I'm really liking them.
They were pretty simple for me to install but are most definitely a super stiff rubber compound. I even heated up my rear for about 15-20 minutes straight and the stem and bead locks were still a little tight.
The more you do it the easier it gets for sure.

I finally got mine mounted only to find the I apparently pinched the tube. I spent all afternoon trying to get the last 10 inches of bead over the rim. God help me if I ever have to change the tube on the trail.
With a little mink oil, hot sunshine, and plastic tree felling wedges, I replaced the tube. I used the wedges to keep a gap open between the bead and the rim to have working room to replace the tube.

Man, I recently put on a Dunlop d605, rear tire a 120-80-18 on my 250l great tire so far, but I have a IRC TR8 battle ready front tire, size 3-00-21 great set up !
That is a cool stem tool. I would find that very useful. Did you make it or buy it. Either way, it's a great idea.

I could not install the tire. Extremely super hard. The tire tore up. Going to see if they honor it.
Hopefully they will. I just threw some Dsports on my wife's bike and they went on pretty smoothly. Technique really is key.
I would like to see a chain adjustment sometime.

Just the stock size @ 120/90 - 18. Excited to try it out. Plenty of people claiming to like it much more then the D606 so we shall see. As is with all my reviews, I will only give an honest opinion. Supposed to be riding tomorrow in the dirt.

The DSport tire? Or the Sport of riding bikes?
The DSport is an amazing tire on and offroad. If your terrain is super muddy and slick you'll have to air it down a lot for better traction but you want to have rim locks if you do that to be safe.
If you meant the sport of riding, I love it. Nothing better lol

I hate my d606 so on my Beta 350rr these should be my next tire ... I may plate the bike as well so it's logical to get these . How good since this video have they been ?
They're fantastic on my bike.
Now I do know every bike is different but I think on your beta they will be fine.
I like them so much I got them for my DR as well.
And for the price you can't beat it.

@@AdventurerZack Nice , I had a Drz just before this bike and I struggled to find a tire I liked for where and how I ride, love the Beta feel like it was a huge upgrade as far as power to weight and fuel injection , 6 speed is near perfect IMO , do like to ride in town alot so an aggressive offroad with dot material type should do the trick , thanks for the response and excellent review.... Tusk is a sweet brand we have used them for years in our family so not a bit surprised these would be good.

How did you like it?
It was a fantastic tire on and offroad. I've since switched to Kenda Trakmaster II's.
Only gripe I have with the DSport is when it starts getting super gnarly like lots of mud, clay and wet rocks. It doesn't do to well unless you air it way down in those situations.
Other than that it's a fantastic tire to use.
My KTM 500 needs new shoes and I wanna know how they keep up, specifically how was road manners as I have a good understanding of offroad already.
@@zacnorris6354 So for on road use they run just as well if not better than a D606 or K270 if you have ever tried either of those tires. The knobs don't fold under turns, its a very stiff hard compound tire. And that was also on a 320lb bike, now your 500 is like my 350 excf, much much lighter so they should perform even better on the 500 than they did on the crf250l. I would 100% run them again, if I was planning to use one of my bikes more on the road and less on the gnarlier trails. Great wear life also.
