Good Day & Thank You.
I have lived in Chino Valley for 4 years (moved from Albuquerque, NM.) We bought a house out here 7 years ago (because we couldn't afford Prescott.) Good thing, because our 30-year old manufactured home on 1 acre has DOUBLED in value, which is pretty ridiculous (we added a 3-car garage and could list it at $400K, even with ghastly teal carpet and crappy linoleum floors.) I do not mind shopping at the one grocery store because I always see someone I know, and the staff is so friendly! I can drive to Prescott or PV in 30 minutes if I need a chain store, but I prefer shopping local. We have some great quirky little gift/re-sale shops and several family-owned restaurants here (my daughter is the saute chef at one of them, recently featured in Taste of AZ magazine.) Lucy's and El Charro Norte have live music on the weekends from local/regional musicians. Night Life? Who needs it when you work for a living? (NOTE: nobody wants to live in a place where there are a bunch of drunks driving around after midnight.) Our neighbors have goats and chickens (fresh eggs and goat cheese and goat milk soap for sale), and home schoolers are welcome here! Churches on every corner. Fabulous weather and scenery. Drive 1-2 hours in any direction, and you will find all kinds of fun places to explore (Grand Canyon, Jerome, Walnut Canyon, Montezuma's Castle, Williams, Sedona, etc.) City Slickers that move here and do nothing but complain about roosters crowing at the crack of dawn, horse droppings on the Pea Vine Trail, American flags being flown (and, equally popular, Don't Tread on Me flags) and/or not having City conveniences (chain stores and food delivery services) don't belong here. In fact, people who complain about every. little. thing shouldn't come here. Small town living means making friends by getting to know your neighbors, and actually wanting to HELP and stick up for your neighbors, no matter who/what they vote for! We help each other here just because our neighbors need help, just like we would do for an elderly, curmudgeonly family member! If you are judgey, critical, and generally bitter and unhappy about life, you may not like it here because you will feel so "left out" when you find yourself incapable of making friends. (Also, my car has not been stolen ONCE the entire time I have lived here. Cars get stolen in Albuquerque every 5 minutes!)
Same! Lived here 16 years and LOVE it!
Wish u could! Moved to flatland 1957 (thx mom )!..my son born in Prescott 1969. X Hub worked airline's so had to leave ...Grand Canyon, Vegas finally back Phx long ago. Now old peoria. Wish I had the $$$$! I'm only Trumpster in my little hoa community..yuck. but count my blessings I have nice memories. God bless ya'll!
@@bluegrassgal Good Day. Don't feel bad. Both Political Parties have taken turns being totally screwed up over their histories. Both Are Screwed Up and will always stay that way. No matter who's in the White House, etc. We have never really mattered to the "1/10th of 1%" of extreme wealthy Americans that DO Control Everything. Mark Twain Saying? "If voting really mattered, we wouldn't be permitted to vote". I lived in Chandler and Phoenix from 1995 till 5 years ago. Loved it there in the beginning, then over time it got worse and worse.
Peace & Best Regards to You.
It is complete BS that your neighbors will stick up for you regardless of who you vote for. If you're not Republican, you're not welcome there.
@@ffa2dramachick In recent times, I have yet to encounter a Republican that isn't Violently Deluded.
Very nice review Dawn!
Super excited to get to know Chino Hills a bit , we are on our way to No AZ for our 3rd trip. looking at homes and lots. The dewey humbolt area looks interesting? Thoughts
Dewey Humbolt is a nice community and its in a good location, not far off the interstate and close to Prescott/Prescott Valley for shopping.
Chino hills is in CA. Chino Valley is VERY different
@@livinginnorthernazHi. Isn't there a contaminated plant there?
Love chino valley, but the excessive speeding that's going on on road 4 north is becoming highly questionable
I bought a manufactured home in Paulden just north of Chino for 185k furnished on 3/8 acre. Home is nice for manufactured and I am updating with a 2 ton minisplit, 2" blinds on all windows, It's Dogpatch but quiet and crime free. Short 12 mile drive to Safeway in Chino
It was Rodney King not Reginald Denny that said, "can't we all just get along".
I thought it was Rodney Dangerfield
It would be nice if we could all get along wouldn't it?!
Yes!
@@caliopeknows844 Very true indeed; these are perilous times
Unfortunately the division in thinking is cavernous ( like the Grand Canyon!) Common ground is hard to come by. Very little gray area between the two factions. When ideology is so very splintered it is hard to get along. We should try but...
@@bthomson yep you are right about there being very little gray area between/among factions. I should note that by all getting along, I guess I meant more of a getting along like being able to be civil to each other even when vehemently disagreeing about whatever issue is at hand rather than screaming at and cancelling those that have opposing views, as is so disturbingly common these days. ☺️
Historically, This is how people are. Yes It Would. Peace & Best Regards
It's not a 45-minute drive to Prescott... I despised living in Chino valley for the 6 years that I did but many of your talking points are not factual. I now live in rural New Mexico and I love it so much more.
I am a resident of Chino Valley for 19 years. The town has been mismanaged since I moved here. The schools are not good. I have no problem with a lot of police. I moved here at 49 years old and now I am 68. Shopping and eating establishments are poor. You have to drive 45 minutes into Prescott for good shopping and restaurants. I live in a nice and quiet subdivision. No crime here. The Safeway, only grocery store, is packed all of the time.. If you are a MAGA Trump supporter this is the town for you. The man that runs the largest chapter of the Oat Keepers lives here. American flags up and down my street with signs supporting Trump. I would guess that 70 percent of people that buy houses in Chino Valley are from California. Weather: From late October until April expect weather to be cold. For three months this winter the lows were in the teens but daytime temperatures are in 40's and low 50's in winter months. Windy months are from March through June. Probably four snow storms a year and within two days the snow melts, snow is not an issue. Lack of shopping, grocery shopping and good restaurants you will encounter living here. Low crime, low property taxes, feeling safe are a plus.
I live in Prescott Valley and it’s pretty much the same here. You description is very true. Been here since 1995.
You literally mentioned nothing negative about the area ! Can you guess why it's little to no crime
❤
Wonder how the local trucking jobs are like?
Norn, AZ ... What is the Zip Code?
I love it!!! You earned a sub! I plan to move to Prescott soon (I’m 22) seems like a good place to work construction and raise a family
If you come to Chino Valley bring your own job. There are a lot of trumpers. If we just try to get along it works out ok. Nobody is going to shoot you for wearing a mask... But you may have to ignore some comments. It does take only 20 to 30 minutes to get to shopping in Prescott. I have lived here for 47 years.
Most of us here are Republicans
There is a problem with being a Trumper? What?? I happened to catch this channel and I live here. What are you talking about? Most people here are Christian they're very tolerant they carry guns and crime here is not tolerated. So what's the,Ohh I see. You don't like any of that? Because of masks mever being enforces? They are harmful and don't stop microbial viruses you're upset because we won't wear them? And somebody might not agree with you so they'll say something? I can't tell if you're trying to warn people away because you agree with what I'm saying or if you're not you're not clear? Even now I saw your comment was posted only three weeks ago? I'm having a hard time following what you're saying?
@@pattifowler7762 AMEN 🇺🇸

@@pattifowler7762I'm a citizen of heaven so not concerned for political parties. Anyway none of them have really impressed, have they?
