When I lived in AJ at worked as a tour guide for the dolly steamboat, the lakes were pitifully low at the time but now I believe up in the mountains of Callie and Arizona. They had a good amount of snow this winter, so hopefully they get their water reserves back to somewhat normal.
15:28 Verrado is Buckeye sir! Your in old town! No one lives in old town anymore. I moved to rainbow and Yuma in Buckeye in 1986. All that is Buckeye. Buckeye goes from Jackrabbit to 310 Ave almost Palo verde! You’re showing the town. Buckeye is more than old town! They have everything and more off Yuma rd and Watson Walmart, Lowe’s , Home Depot, all the restaurants. But if you’re gonna show Buckeye like this then don’t come here 😂😂 they have all of Cali living here. Do your research. My parents still live in the same home out of old town. You’re giving false information. It’s expensive to live in Buckeye! Verrado is definitely Buckeye Az
I’ve lived in south Phoenix for 40 years. Raise a large family 5 girls and 3 boys here. Just in the area of your video. All are doing well and successful . It’s not as bad as you say. You just need to hang out with the right people. Like anywhere you go.
I grew up on 35th Ave between Broadway and Southern just down the road from Manzy. We were a racing family so close to the track was great, but aside from Manzy it was horrible for a kid... where exactly did you live in south Phoenix that was decent?
@@x7slim8x between 7th ave and 15th ave south of broadway area with the large lots. Many of my neighbors also have lived here for dozens of years. Don’t know maybe I’m just used to it but it doesn’t seem to be that bad.
@@bearmcquade2846 yes, every state has some physical beauty to behold as well, such as Hawaii and Alaska, our newest states. Depends on what you want, but it's the people and the gov'ts of these areas that makes or breaks it as far as a nice place to live. Beauty is certainly desirable, but you need jobs and a good place to live and safety from bad people, that's the key to everything.
When I was hiking across the state, I ran into the Hopi tribe. Some of the best, friendliest people I have ever met in my sojourn here on earth. Easily one of the most interesting and kind-hearted group of individuals willing to help out a complete stranger a bit lost in life.
They are very nice people. Just don't ask about the Blue Kat China. I'm adopted as a Hunka brother by a Lakota family from the Cheyenne River Reservation in South Dakota. They are related to the most famous Native Warrior.
Comparatively it definitely is. Half a million is the very least you will pay in Colorado, so moving here it definitely seems a lot cheaper. Even my apartment here in Phoenix is close to a grand a month for a basic one bedroom:/
@@ambervelasquez904 same here in Glendale. My apartment has gone up about $200 in the last 2 years. I’m praying it will not go up again for a third year😡
I would love for the houses where I'm at be $375 k. To me this is affordable. I pay over $3000 a month for the house we rent and it's not a huge fancy house.
I've been in my neighborhood in Glendale for 25 years and I wouldn't live anywhere else. My neighborhood has an 85% homeowner rate with very few rental properties. Our kids play outside and everyone pretty much knows where and who these kids belong to. Our schools take very few variances so our kids develop friends from kinder thru high school and beyond. These are the things (in my opinion) that make my neighborhood in Glendale AZ great
Glendale is such a huge area that adding it to this list is a bit misleading. There are some pretty bad and a lot of quite good areas to it - you just have to evaluate it on a case-by-case basis.
South Phoenix here. I live on South Mountain and it's beautiful and peaceful. I'd only get a house south of Baseline. Gotta drive to Tempe and Tukee for anything cool though. 15 minutes from three great city areas.
I grew up with a mini bike. I had fun everywhere I went. Now I live in one of the towns featured in this video. And quads and sideXsides are still quality entertainment! More trails to explore than in the mountains where I grew up! Seclusion is nice if it’s your choice.
I was born and raised in the south east valley, in the 1960s. I moved to the mid west a decade and a half ago, I can't even recognize it anymore. Thanks for the videos.
I moved to Coolidge to a new build last year from Gilbert and even though it’s boring it is very quiet and I think this town will grow within 10 years. We are not far from chandler. We have Nikola and soon proctor and gamble manufacturing plant. Also he didn’t mention we have Walmart, Safeway, dollar tree
Kingman definitely needs to be in the list. Like Winslow it’s an interstate trucking pit stop town that never really had a reason to develop into anything. A lot of poverty, not a lot of attractions and pinning itself as a 66 historical town as it has no other sense of identity.
Except for the fact Kingman is a main hub between Vegas and Phoenix and it's on I-40 on the way to Los Angeles. And it's grown like crazy in the last few years, not what you can call a truck "pit-stop" like it was 30 years ago. Kingman could easily change their identity if they wanted to. It's really not a bad place.
You'd think after 35 years we'd have more things. Last 10 years I've watched nothing but dollar stores, fast food, weed shops, and hotels being built. The second hospital was forcibly shut down by the crooks at KRMC. The local townies that own chains don't want competition so they have a say of what they want (or don't want built). Our city council is highly corrupt and refuse to let any businesses that have a reputation for being "left" so no Costco, Target, Perkins, Amazon, etc. Can't even get a second Walmart. Not trying to be political, but it's their words, not mine. The families that own businesses here have their relatives in office to keep the status quo going. Yet, the locals keep saying "It's growing just you wait!". Some of the locals here have anger issues, hope you like hearing the F-word and them bitching about Democrats all the time. This place has been hard R forever and they've always called the shots. 35 years... it had 35 years. Bullhead used to be smaller than Kingman, but now it has exploded with an airport of all things. This town had so much potential to be more than a dirty trucker hub/retirement community. Yet we've LOST businesses and the druggies/homeless situation is getting worse. Also the job market here is awful. Lots of minimum wage and hard labor factory jobs. Many places you'll do the work of three people for 15/hr. If you're a nurse, doctor, dentist, or sales, you'll do fine. If you're in finance, tech, education, it's not so great. Think we had a bunch of remote consultants move out here that really drove prices up. They could have built a data center out here, we could have had a second hospital yet instead they want to polish the turd that is route 66. The downtown did get fixed up, but the north part of Andy Devine from the park could use some work. Just paid off all remaining debts so now I'm saving up to move. I've had enough.
I live in Chino Valley and have to drive to Phoenix (Central and Indian School) once a week. While I feel safe in the parking garage and walking to my building, I will never stop for gas or groceries ANYWHERE near my office. I moved here from Albuquerque to escape crime and traffic, and it is 100 times WORSE in Phoenix (which is why I live in Chino Valley.) Once I retire, I will never go to Phoenix unless I have to use the Airport or visit my sister and my father that live in Mesa (for reasons I will never understand!)
Central Phoenix is way worse than the places listed! I love in the area you are talking about and have been attacked sextant times and the police only take assault seriously if you have a video or witness and brush everything off and there is people openly doing drugs all over the area in public!
here in Western Pennsylvania. my mailman often spoke of how he wants to move to Arizona. He said that he put his papers in requesting a transfer as soon as there is an opening in Arizona. he said he’s ready for a change. He doesn’t like snow which, we get about 20 inches of snow a year. He doesn’t like the cold weather, it very rarely goes below 10° here at night in the winter. During the days, it generally goes up to or near 32° during the winters… so finally an opening in Arizona post office, located in Phoenix. My mailman sold everything. He wasn’t taking with him in a garage sale, and he packed up and left for Phoenix. He said goodbye, and he was gone. 10 days later, I saw him driving his jeep on his route delivering mail again here. I asked him what’s up? I thought you were gone for good , I thought you had it with cold weather and winter.. he said, he never felt comfortable, even walking down the street. He said many people had bars on their windows of their homes and businesses, even on the second floor. He said a woman in his apartment building had all four of her tires stolen from her car while in the parking lot… she had just got the car back a month earlier from being stolen.. he said, not too many people go out to restaurants at night. You don’t see people walking around at night when it’s cooler on the streets. He said there is a tension in the air you could feel. The people look at you, it’s like they’re scared of you… so he had just so many days to go back to his old position here in Western Pennsylvania. And he jumped on it after just four days… he said he is now looking forward to winter and snow. He said he didn’t know how green it was here till he came back. He said everything out there is brown or Tan. winter really only lasts about 10 weeks here. and of those 10 weeks, we really only get about four orfive snow events where are you get maybe two or 3 inches, rarely do we get more than 4 inches overnight, then it’s gone a few days later usually.. we don’t have droughts, we don’t get hurricanes, we don’t get earthquakes, we only get about 60 totally cloudless days a year, that’s why the skin cancer rate here is the lowest in the country. I asked him if he had ever been to Phoenix before or if he had relatives or friends living there. He said no he had never been there and he doesn’t know anybody there. I told him he did if he had friends or relatives there, or even if he had just visited the place, it would look a lot different. I told him he should’ve gave it a chance. I told him I would like to go to Phoenix… i’ve often thought of moving to Arizona. I’m sure there would be an easy time for me to get a job since I am an HVAC air-conditioning technician.. although, I really don’t like temperatures above 82°. When it hits 90 which is about three or four days a year here, I don’t even go in my pool. I stay in air conditioning. I just ain’t used to heat like they get in the Southwest
I lived in South Tucson from 1977 to 1979 with my family as a teenager. What I saw left an indelible mark in my memory that I will never forget. At no time though did I ever feel I was in any personal danger. But the surroundings were sad and in a strange way, beautiful.
Knew a guy, his brother And girlfriend went to south Tucson, lookin for an advertised Harley, his body found in a church dumpster, his gal disappeared, His new truck parked abandoned In a parking lot 💯😩😩😩
In the early 70s my friends and I would ride our bikes up to Squaw Peak. No helmets no water bottles. When we wanted a drink of water, we would just stop at any house and get a drink out of the garden hose. No problem. I remember Janet Napolitano was involved in the renaming of our beloved Squaw Peak. And it was done illegally, by breaking the rules,/law. You’re 100% correct my friend. It will always, always, be. Squaw Peak.
@@MrStoicable I miss those days! Napolitano…. Can’t stand that filth. I knew we were on a road to ruin as a country when Obamao had her lead DHS… She did nothing for the Arizona border when she was governor. I hope there is still time to save Arizona and the entire Republic.
Thank you!! Very helpful as I want to move to get out of so much boredom (and honestly cooler) ... I live in Mohave Valley which does have "some" decent shopping, Laughlin is 30 minutes up however it's isolated from any metro area as is Kingman and Havasu.
You know everyone has their opinions on certain areas cities towns etc... But I was born and raised in South Phoenix and I would not want that any other way... every city has its bad areas .. back in the 90s crime was high a lot was going on back then but now it's grown so big there's new houses and new communities almost on every block, there are new apartments and condos going up everywhere ...convenience stores are getting knocked down or rebuilt, but it's just like anywhere else depends on who you hang around with and where you choose to be ..No matter where you go there's going to be drugs and crime ... Those things are always easily picked on or South Phoenix has that reputation but I love it here. downtown has changed so much as well before used to be like a little town but now you have these colleges you got condos grocery stores even downtown Phoenix. You never hear about the crime or the drugs that go on in South Scottsdale? Or downtown Tempe.. Drugs and crime are everywhere ...at least there's no school massacres /hate crimes making HEADLINES... Don't let these videos or people discourage you to come and check us out ... Much love to everyone repping THE (602) SOUTH SIDE PHX , 💯
Good video. I’ve been here two months and haven’t seen any poverty yet. Haven’t heard of these places. I started out in Litchfield Park and ended up in Dobson Creek area in Mesa. Love it!
$350,000 for a house in a run-down, high crime area in Phoenix is mind-boggling. Winslow surprised me for all the negatives, especially the high crime. I've lived in Tucson and you definitely want to avoid South Tucson. I would not want to deal with the bad traffic in or near Phoenix. Surprised Gila Bend did not make the list, and I could see Douglas and Nogales on here because of all the crime and border issues. Thanks for the video.
Tucson and So. Tuc. are goverened is governed by liberal Dems, which is a plague. They've allowed the Sinaloan Cartel to take over either thru influence, selling out or due to cartel threats (Plato o Lomo?).
Gotta love the fact the first thirty seconds of the portion of "South Tucson" started in the extreme north/north-east Foothills (I want to say it was somewhere in the large Fairfield(?) development between Craycroft and Kolb, just south of Sunrise -- a very lovely and hidden community with a great view of the city.) If I remember correctly, the homes start around $600,000 and go way up from there.
You kind of missed on the video part of your South Tucson description. You're showing what I believe is LA Cholla Hills, a really nice 55+ community in NW Tucson.
Dam son, honesty is awesome in your descriptions of each of the areas. Most people substitute glam-words for issues... ie 'crime ridden neighborhood' for 'ethnic diversity'. Thanks for being real/accurate.
Debs husband says I just came back from a trip to Las Vegas and was traveling east on Interstate 40. The road is so deteriorated and rough that there were times I thought it was going to shake my teeth out. Terrible. The worst part was between Kingman and Flagstaff.
I really have to wonder about the people who moved here from the Midwest. Like how much of an absolute horrible place is the Midwest that this place seems nice to you?
Did it dawn on you we are happy with most of our communities, we have no need to be entertained. We have crafts, hobbies, community and most of all friends and family. We have no desire to become "elsewhere" and disdain those from such that want to change us.
I used to live in Maryvale in the 70s and 80s. It turned into a nasty drug dealing area near Maryvale high school. Its sad when I drive thru that neighborhood now. It used to be a nice place to live.
Casa Grande isn't bad compared to most of the state. The cost of living is lower than the Phoenix metro, and there's a fair amount of industry in the area, which means jobs. It's close enough to take advantage of the EV industries going up in Coolidge, but a MUCH better place to live imho. I've been all over the state and can recite the pros and cons for almost any area you can name. By the way, Globe has THE highest crime rate in the state.
Right at 7 minutes and 42 seconds in Casa Grande: "The down town area actually looks pretty good..." right as the camera is passing a building with tape holding a window together from a recent shooting spree. lol
I am SUPER surprised that you did not include Guadalupe and Maryvale. I’ve had some colleagues tell me that AJ (Apache Junction for my non-native AZ friends) is getting better bit by bit.
Oh..the Marryvale district, the creme 'd la creme of the worst crime area of South Phoenx. It helps a LITTLE if your Hispanic. Robert in Apache Junction.
I have lived in Central and west Phx, Glendale, Tempe and Chandler. The place where I felt the most safe and at ease is in Guadalupe. Love this little town.
Interesting video. We, then my parents and I lived in Phoenix, NE, 16th St and E Colter, back in 1976 when it was much smaller. We lived in Schultz Apt then for a rent of $225.00 a month for a two bedroom, with one bath. My wife and I went back to Phoenix in 2003, and the apartment Bldg was still there. We liked going for steaks at Monte's Cada Vieja, Restaurant, near ASU in Tempe, where I had eaten there with my parents too, now closed. I remember a place called Big Surf near Phoenix, which has closed. We went up the road to Payson, NE of Pnx, much bigger when my wife and I went back there in 2003. We stayed at the Holiday Inn, then, on Bend Road, in Scottsdale. I saw Metrocenter closed to. There used to be a Piccadilly Cafeteria near us, Bashas Supermarket. I also think I remember Phoenix itself was around a population of 500,000. My Father, recently then recently retired, bought a new Olds Cutlass from Edward's Oldsmobile in Phoenix, and gas in Phoenix was about 50 cents a gallon back then. I remember, Glendale, was a cheaper place for a basic home, around $20,000 back in 1976. 😊
Lived in Phoenix my senior year of high school 82-83. We used to eat at Picadilly at Metro center too. Used to go to the movies there as well. Lived closer to PV Mall and frequented that one as well. Both demolished and gone

The Prescott / Prescott Valley area is becoming like Phoenix. Not enough infrastructure for the amount of people moving here. We don't have enough grocery stores in Prescott Valley but they keep building homes, apartments, low income tiny homes all crammed together. In the process of building two more hotels, all of which block mountain views. If you want good medical care be prepared to drive to Phoenix. The newer homes they are building are built cheap. Traffic on 69 is a death trap. 89A is also like a race track. It's freezing in winter and we had a LOT of snow.last winter. It's always windy. Like everywhere else, its changed the last 10 -15 years. All the growth is where the Proghorn used to roam, now its rare to see them. People move here thinking it's a small town, then complain its to crowded after they get here. Most tourists go to the events at Prescott square, get a break from the summer heat and drive around Jerome and Sedona. Home and rental prices are outrageous. Half a million is the average home price for a fixer upper. These are things realitors don't tell you if your new to the area.
@@jbee6954 yes, sorry to hear that, but years ago, 70's, 80's, they, city planners, used to call that phenomenon, the "Los Angelesizing" of America, it's happened everywhere, unfortunately. Go to Virginia and it looks like parts of L.A. What a nice model for the country eh, Los Angeles! That's where I once grew up, in the 50's and 60's; when Disney Land was truly Disney, not some woke abomination of it, and when CA it was actually a good place. Of course, we had responsible sane governors and mayors then, both democrat and republican. But not now, not anymore, we have communists and traitors, and their sympathizers, on both sides, everywhere!!
Not sure what he means Casa Grande is hot in the summer where temperatures are significantly lower than the entire Phoenix area. From Buckeye in the West All the Way East to Globe North Phoenix to South Chandler it roasts in these locales during the summer months and because of all the pavement not much reprieve even in overnight.
Depending on what you consider bad… but most avenues are run down or impoverished. Good people and good communities but most are impoverished. There are parts on the west side that I wouldn’t go to after a certain time in the day and I’m fully capable of protecting myself it’s just that bad. Northern avenues aren’t as bad but anything central or south it’s get pretty rough all over.
@@TentoesdownmediaI’m so glad you understood what I’m trying to say 😊 and thank you I will make notes of this 💯 and yes my definition of bad is poverty homelessness , drugs and crime etc
I’ve lived in Casa Grande for 6 years and really like it. Lots of shopping and restaurants. Hundreds of new builds in north end of town. South of Florence Blvd is not so nice. The further north, the newer the homes
You are wrong about buckeye , and Goodyear. We have lived in Estrella mountain Ranch for 5 year's, it's amazing but expensive. My husband worked in Verrado, it's just extremely overpriced and they have nothing to do there. But a movie theater is going up there. As for buckeye Tartesso, amazing, we do have to drive 12 min to any store or gas station, but there is about every store, and restaurants here. More people are moving here, then anywhere else, they are building new homes all over, the wait list to get a new construction is 12-18 months, huge growth.I have 3 close friends who are realtors and they said you just don't know about the huge growth.
My son and his family recently relocated to the Verrado area of Buckeye due to job transfer with APS. They sold their home in Flagstaff for double what they paid just a few years ago. Location and the amount of land. The house in Buckeye was less and they had money left over for a pool. They like it out there but they are in a nicer area. TFS 👍
This one I'm not going to begrudge them changing name too much. She was a native Arizonan killed in combat serving our country. I still refer to it as Squaw Peak but at least they didn't change it to George Floyd peak
Winslow is home to La Posada, one of the best resorts in Arizona, with one of the very best restaurants. It is the old Harvey House, one of our favorite places.
living in Arizona is actually now admitting on UA-cam the problems we are facing in AZ I thought I would never see the day I might actually like him for a change.
I live in Glendale and it's not bad if you live in the right areas. I live in a really nice neighborhood and there's a lot of nice places around. I hate that narrative that Glendale is bad.
Born and raised in Az and Glendale sucks. I'm right down the street from the stadium and my neighborhood is decent but it still sucks ass. Crime has increased in the 10 yrs I've lived in this area. Glendale city officials keep trying to shine up a turd.
I hate to say it but you should do 11 worst places and put youngtown. I'm sorry I moved here 5 years ago and it has gone downhill. Lot of scary people a lot of homeless hanging out in the parks
I disagree with you on Glendale. There is some nice areas in Glendale, plus they are building that resort near State farm. I just purchased a $400,000 home a few years ago and now it's worth more than $700,000. Arrowhead is a nice area and where I live there's a lot of farm land and it makes you feel like you live in a rural area plus your close to entertainment and I'm 40 minutes away from lake pleasant
@@Philip3 would love to know where in Glendale homes are going for $700k? Homes in Scottsdale and north Tempe aren’t even going for that and they’re much more desirable locations.
@@Tentoesdownmedia the house that I have would cost over a million in Scottsdale. There is cheaper homes in Glendale and not so great areas especially when you start to go towards inner phoenix. But the area I live is nicer and you get more land for your money. Scottsdale is to expensive for the regular working person and some of the people I encounter are fake in my opinion. My buddy is selling his home for work and he lives 5 minutes away, his home is selling for 714k
@@Philip3 I agree some people in Scottsdale can be superficial but to each their own. I just couldn’t imagine paying $700k for a home in Glendale… I don’t care how much land it came with. Buckeye should not be on this list. We live close to verrado and it’s not boring. We can easily drive to other parts of AZ to do things. Usually people out here just want to be chill, raise a family, and go to church.
I have seen a tweaker assault a young man *HE* rear ended, I have been accosted by a gang member there, and one of my priests had a gun pulled on him. I've driven through it 5 times, seen nasty stuff 40% of the time.
Jeff you RULE!!! FINALLY you crush Buckeye! All these years of commenting asking why youre nice to that area and its here! 😂. I will say though- I moved over by Taiwan Semi and its kinda Hidden… and my apartment sucks! I thought id be all stoked to be close to Cave Creek but I actually miss my house in Buckeye. Blah. I wouldnt move back to thay boring town BUT… Goodyear was nice! Good priced homes and very town like vibes. Glendale does suck until you get to Arrowhead. That area rocks. Great video! Pretty spot on with all those areas.
You skipped all the shopping and restraunts they have in casa. You showed only the olser part..didnt go anywhere near florence Blvd or any of the stores or gym out there. The city pool is nice and the park/splash pad. Also the price of gas is cheaper than the valley. Coolidge has more than 2 fast food places. Not huge but they do have places to go out to eat. How much research or time did you actually put into this?
Hi. Thank you for the look around our home ! Disabled, can't get out much... beautiful beautiful state (Arizona). Lived all over- till our home here. Anyways... Hope you have a great one 😎🤘.
Give it 10 years and I think Buckeye will get some good stuff. They’re getting a Costco right now. And as beautiful as Verado is there sure is a lot of craziness that happens there! I personally think Gilbert is the safest place in AZ but also super expensive now!
Buckeye is kinda like 2 cities in 1. The south side is Old Town Buckeye. It is a bit barren and run down in parts, many closed up businesses, and has that "old desert town" look and feel. The north side of town right along highway 10 is more booming, homes are all newer with new construction popping up weekly as well as many retail centers.
I lived in Tucson in the early nineties and worked at a place that handled deliveries. We had several sections on South Tucson where if an order came in we just cancelled it as undeliverable, and refused to go out, because there had already been too many robberies and at least one driver death. OTOH I grew up in the middle of nowhere near San Simon in Cochise County, and even today the best I can say about it is that there's no murder rate because you gotta have people to have murders first lol...and San Simon has precious few people.
I’ve was born 1975 and raised Tempe/Mesa border. Stayed in AZ lived in Mesa, North Phoenix/Scottsdale border, and been in North Peoria for last 23 years. You nailed it pretty much but you forgot about town of Guadalupe(little Mexico) which is basically Tempe SW isn’t a great place to live. Buckeye Verrado is north of I-10 and west of Litchfield Park which is nice but yes far from everything. I always know that anything west of Central from Baseline to Bell Road is not very good to live in. The bad areas move west which currently is anything west of I-17 to Loop 101 from south of Baseline to north of Bell Road. You’ll find pockets of good neighborhoods but the worst is Maryvale which is Indian School Rd from I-17 to Loop 101.
I totally disagree with you. I moved to Buckeye 2 years ago from NorthernCalifornia for healthreasons. We are close to sporting events and concert events. And NO it doesn't smell every day. Sure there aren't any good restaurants here but you only have to drive to less than 20 minutes away to go to the movie theater and good restaurants, I'm talking about restaurants and not fast food chains. Buckeye definitely has lots of fast food chains if thats your liking.
In Coolidge they still have a 1st Interstate Bank building with a sign, and the sign looks brand new. That bank went out of business 25 years ago and was taken over by Wells Fargo. I lived in AZ for 43yrs, now in Florida but AZ is turning into California which is why I got out
1st Interstate Bank just bought Great Western Bank, which is what that bank was; Great Western bought Sunstate Bank formerly Bank of Casa Grande Valley.
Toured Verrado in July 2024. It was nice but just barren desert for 15 minutes to get there. Once the 303 fills in with development, if you need to be on the north side of Phoenix your 45 minute drive now would turn into a 90 minute nightmare. Verrado would be a nice place to retire though if you like desert. (Cactus not palm trees)
Coolidge had an excellent cafe on the main drag when I went through there a couple years ago. Looked like a gathering spot for locals for breakfast & coffee and such.
The area of South Phoenix going South west is definitely a tough area. its nicer as you get towards the mountain but in between downtown and the mountain is rough
If this video was made 20 years earlier, it may very well have been. But Yuma has made considerable strides in trying to change its image over the last 15 years.
It's sad, driving around Yuma, to see pockets of poverty as bad as in any 3rd world country. The contrast between the haves and have nots is disturbing. Been here 8+ years and very little economic growth in this town; for every new business an old one is boarded up! But we do have a Sprouts and two Starbucks...
I have lived in Glendale all my life and I like it. At least the part I live at. Phoenix I think has worse drivers. Just now as I parked as I got home from work, I thought back on my drive. There was easily 3 people that passed me going at least 90-100 miles on the I-17. Plus more wrong way drivers have been seen on the east side of the 101. 😆 But still an interesting list!
I'm confused because the drive-by shots of South Tucson looks really nice, the neighborhoods looked clean and manicured. How is it most dangerous? Can you say what actually happens?
Having only lived in Arizona 47 years, I can only say the extreme "broad brush off" of several cities(Buckeye, Glendale, Tucson ) is certainly only your opinion.
I'm curious what this guy is talking about when he says that buckeye and Glendale are boring. Is he looking for a brothel or a topless club? There is everything else to do in or close to buckeye. Goodyear has every restaurant known to man and a huge movie theater. He doesn't know what he's talking about.
Goodyear and Buckeye is fine for upper income plain vanilla soccer mom families who have a Caleb and an Ashley in the backseat of their cookie cutter SUV's in their sqaushed next together side by side $500,000 dollar cookie cutter homes. The Yuppie thing that started in the 80's is still alive and well today. Robert in Apache Junction at 68.

I live in South Phoenix and it’s bad in certain areas. If you live in an expensive gated community then you might be oblivious to certain things, but anyone outside those communities have probably dealt with the theft problem and the drive by’s. Also, the amount of times I’ve fallen asleep to helicopters circling over my neighborhood in search of someone is a ridiculous amount of times. However, you do adapt and get used to these things. 😅 If you plan on moving to south Phoenix, I would recommend the Laveen area. It seems to be an upcoming area with alot of development
I lived in Sunnyslope a few years ago. At that time, it wasn't too bad. I lived in an apartment, just up the hill from Cave Creek Road. The thing I miss about the Phoenix area, is the bus system, having access to pretty much anything you could want to do. Here, in Sheridan WY. (yuck), there is very little bus service, as well as having nothing to do, unless you enjoy Walmart. (Which I don't). For me, Sunnyslope was convenient. It's sad to hear that it may have gone downhill, from what I remember.

Arizona is Beautiful, You did good !
@@bearmcquade2846 yes, every state has some physical beauty to behold as well, such as Hawaii and Alaska, our newest states. Beauty is certainly desirable, but you need jobs and a good place to live and safety from bad people, that's the key to everything.

How can the average person or family afford a $375K home? How can you say affordable?
I know, right!! It’s not affordable and I think most people are in debt to their eyeballs.
I’m praying it will not go up again for a third year😡
"How can the average person or family afford a $375K home?"
On payments.
"How can you say affordable?"
Affordable is relative. Are you a Democrat?
@@maxh771good point. In my Glendale neighborhood the average home price is about $700k.

Kingman definitely needs to be in the list. Like Winslow it’s an interstate trucking pit stop town that never really had a reason to develop into anything. A lot of poverty, not a lot of attractions and pinning itself as a 66 historical town as it has no other sense of identity.
Yes. I mostly agree with this list but there are places on it I would prefer to live before Kingman.
I agree!!!
Agree. A drab go-through town between points east and west with too many motels and fastfood joints. A west version of Amarillo Texas.

Mesa is not bad..EAST Mesa, down town and the west side..uhh..Robert in Apache Junction.
It’s not thatttt bad. You’re exaggerating a tiny bit.
here in Western Pennsylvania. my mailman often spoke of how he wants to move to Arizona. During the days, it generally goes up to or near 32° during the winters…
so finally an opening in Arizona post office, located in Phoenix.
The people look at you, it’s like they’re scared of you…
so he had just so many days to go back to his old position here in Western Pennsylvania. And he jumped on it after just four days…
he said he is now looking forward to winter and snow.
He should've chose Utah instead. Utah is way safer than AZ. Utah 3rd safest state

$350,000 for a house in a run-down, high crime area in Phoenix is mind-boggling. Winslow surprised me for all the negatives, especially the high crime.

I live in Glendale and it's not bad if you live in the right areas. I live in a really nice neighborhood and there's a lot of nice places around. I hate that narrative that Glendale is bad.
Arrowhead and Westgate are nice areas. But if you follow Grand Avenue through Glendale. Well...... We will let everyone else be the judge of that
Born and raised in Az and Glendale sucks. I'm right down the street from the stadium and my neighborhood is decent but it still sucks ass. Crime has increased in the 10 yrs I've lived in this area. Glendale city officials keep trying to shine up a turd.
@@superbowlgirl1Ya..North of the 101 like Arrowhead estates area. Most of us are not millionaires.
Phoenix metro has a lot of pockets of good and bad.
@@EricaSilva-gz6hl You need to be in Northeast arrowhead around the 101 area to have the desirable. SOUTH below Bell starts to suck.
Feel free to put Bullhead City on your list! It has already gotten too big for my liking, and we have only been here going on 11 years.
These videos are great and very entertaining! Keep making them I enjoy watching them! They are kind of funny too I’d never move here anyways lol
I hate to say it but you should do 11 worst places and put youngtown. I'm sorry I moved here 5 years ago and it has gone downhill. Lot of scary people a lot of homeless hanging out in the parks
Everywhere there is crime even in high income areas
It's nice to learn about the other cities here in AZ in case I ever want to move
Dude there’s no way any home in Glendale is going for $700k that’s Scottsdale prices.
@@Tentoesdownmedia it's true, the whole neighborhoods equity went up. Cheapest house in my neighborhood is around 510k
I’m sure there are nice areas especially north Glendale but the east valley is where I would invest long term but that’s just me. I’m glad your house is appreciating though🤘🏽🤘🏽
I know there is a lot of stuff that happens but it’s still so beautiful to live there!❤
Buckeye should not be on this list. We live close to verrado and it’s not boring. We can easily drive to other parts of AZ to do things. Usually people out here just want to be chill, raise a family, and go to church.
Absolutely just purchased our second home in Buckeye I guess it just depends on your life style been here 19 years and counting
I have seen a tweaker assault a young man *HE* rear ended, I have been accosted by a gang member there, and one of my priests had a gun pulled on him. I've driven through it 5 times, seen nasty stuff 40% of the time.
West coast people going to church..really? Thats like a Republican politician in New York city..LOL!!
$350k is low income housing?
😅😅😂😂😂😂😅😅😂😂
crazy isn't it? 😂
In Denver, this would probably be true as well.
Yup, "Come on Man"!! The next stop is a North Face tent on the street, if you can't afford a measly $350K!! LOL ;D
That's cheaper than CA or CO 500,000 is low income housing
Love your video's brother.
I know, he talks about the downtown are of Casa Grande like it's the main hub of CG. 😆
You have obviously never been to North Glendale - Arrowhead, Fletcher Heights, Stetson Hills, etc. All very nice high income neighborhoods
Isn't North Glendale the Melrose District?
I lived in Tucson in the early nineties and worked at a place that handled deliveries. We had several sections on South Tucson where if an order came in we just cancelled it as undeliverable, and refused to go out, because there had already been too many robberies and at least one driver death. OTOH I grew up in the middle of nowhere near San Simon in Cochise County, and even today the best I can say about it is that there's no murder rate because you gotta have people to have murders first lol...and San Simon has precious few people.
You're right on with the places you picked, especially Glendale!
Thank you for the information.
As a resident of Clark County, Nevada I have always loved places in AZ such as Sedona, Flagstaff and Scottsdale! Amazing vid, comrade 🤛🏻
Coolidge had an excellent cafe on the main drag when I went through there a couple years ago. Looked like a gathering spot for locals for breakfast & coffee and such.
Sheesh south Phoenix is up and coming especially by south mountain.
The area of South Phoenix going South west is definitely a tough area. its nicer as you get towards the mountain but in between downtown and the mountain is rough
@@LivinginArizona
Arizona City, Gila Bend, and Guadalupe are tied for the worst city in Arizona.
The Biltmore Estates starts at N. 24th St. and E. Camelback Rd. going north and east. Not even close to the Slope.
I agree with Bullhead City~ "It's not good. Add Kingman too...lots of druggies. Sad places.
I lived in Buckeye when I first moved to AZ and we had to go to Goodyear for everything. It was very family oriented I will say that!
I am surprised that Yuma was not mentioned as one of the worst.
Oh, they have a
In N’ Out
So
At least there’s that 💯🥵😩🤪🤪
If this video was made 20 years earlier, it may very well have been.
Tyson Arizona. We loved it. Tucson is Arizona’s favourite CHILD😊❤WE ADORED TUCSON!
😆 But still an interesting list!
worse drivers for sure!
I'm confused because the drive-by shots of South Tucson looks really nice, the neighborhoods looked clean and manicured. How is it most dangerous? Can you say what actually happens?
South Tucson is the area to avoid.
It is more dangerous but not dangerous.
Good day. I would like to hear about kingman or Kingman Butler area. Any good? Thank you. Smitty.
Yes I would like to know about Kingman
🙏 Thank you
Having only lived in Arizona 47 years, I can only say the extreme "broad brush off" of several cities(Buckeye, Glendale, Tucson ) is certainly only your opinion.
I agree for sure he really brushed off Glendale, I feel like he never really spent time there
I'm curious what this guy is talking about when he says that buckeye and Glendale are boring.
@@bobmalack481 Jealous much?
@@katydid2877 How am I jealous? These traits are all turn offs at least for me. You are apearantly of the group of these boring predictable people. Now go wax your Escalade and watch reruns of 'Designing women'..LOL!!
We lived in Surprise from 2003 to 2006. We went to many Coyotes games but, other tan those, never ventured into Glendale.
