- In this video I cover the secret prismatic skins hidden around risk of rain returns. These only spawn on certain stage variants and can be a bit of a pain to find. I recommend playing with the command artifact to pick mobility items and playing on drizzle difficulty so you can safely ignore the clock.

Not sure if this is correct, because I couldn't get mercenary prism even playing with him.
I went to the area, playing with mercenary on drizzle, to put the battery on the box, but the prism was not there, just the outline.
I got it only on another run playing with mercenary on monsoon. I think another thing triggered the prisms.
apparently you have to swap difficulties for it to appear. idk why@@ileonhart
throwback to when i jokingly said to my friends "i'm gonna cook acrid because it's funny" then freaked out after recieving an achievment saying "cook acrid"
For the Huntress prismatic skin, you don't need to take the alternate path around through the walls. You can just climb down the rope that's hidden in the lava pool.
Something you can do to get more items instead of looping is getting the captions brooch and just spawning in chests and if you have robomando you can beat the tp and farm since they don’t use money to open chests
Drifter's prism can be grabbed by following a series of small invisible platforms that form a trail out to the ropes beneath those platforms. A friend and I found said invisible platforms by accident

for the artificer dried lake 3 shard there's actually another hidden rope where a small thing is sticking out the ground on the top part of the elongated z piece at ~3:41 in the vid, was able to get that one just running huntress with warp dart mobility. took like a good hr blindly figuring out the different hidden routes you go through to avoid the pitfalls though lol

I'm pretty bummed out that Commando's shard skin doesn't really change much. He's just a little more yellow with a blue visor. I was kinda hoping he would get a purple skin with a red visor, as a nod to Nemesis Commando from Starstorm (for those who don't know, Hopoo actually brought some of the Starstorm devs on-board to work on rorR).

I’m pretty sure the prism commando skin is actually a nod to his base ror2 design considering the color scheme which if it is I think is rlly cool
@@forstreams6221 Commando is RoR2 Mando, Artificer's is RoR2 Arti, Mercenary is Nemesis Mando, White Acrid Prism is also a nod to Starstorm and that's all the references I got

This is why I love risk of rain. And I don't just mean the game, I mean the community. There's no fextralife wiki. There's no soulless moneypit youtubers telling you the 'Top Ten Things You Wish You Knew about Risk of Rain.' It's all in the community baby. In order to find tricks and easter eggs you actually have to engage with other people. Just like the good ol' days.

Also a little priority list (who to focus first, threat assessment) could be great as well, I know this kind of video existed for ror2 boy woolie back in the day and it helped me a lot to improve. This could also make judgement runs more accessible and less daunting for players :)

a bit late to this but i think the "todo" pilot skin may be an unfinished version of his providence skin that you get for beating the final trial. The orange on the jacket matches up with the icon and the name may just be referring to the coloring on the face and arms not being finished yet. probably wrong but my best guess

Huge tip for getting the loader skin: you can use the merc to get it with 8 backup mags and 3 hopoo feathers. Just jump forwards, dash, then use your remaining jumps and sword spins to reach the shard.

i found the secret cooking acrid skin by accident and that makes me wonder what other secret skins may exist by messing arround
Damn I KNEW there had to have been a prism past the environmental log in Boar Beach, but my movement speed on Miner was so bad that it was taking ages to try the platforming again after falling off.

I think it’s because pilot and enforcer have providence trial skins whereas most of these guys don’t. (No idea why commando gets both and acrid has 2 prisms tho lmao)
@@bigbluepurple I remember an interview with the devs from a few years back and one of them said that Acrid is their favorite one to play. Might get special treatment because of that

It's possible that there's two skins for every character, but given that these things are particularly well hidden, it's going to take a while to find them all unless Hopoo straight up tells people, given how specific robomando's unlock is, making back tracing the unlock hard in the code reportedly, they might have hidden some behind hypercontextual things in a similar manner.

I have spent like the past 3 hours on a single run looping constantly trying to get loader's skin. I have all the other ones I just need loader's but the game refuses to give me variant 2 of sky meadow. I just keep getting variant 1 and 3. I'm about to mcfuckin lose it
did not expect a maplestory ref in risk of rain, boar beach is pig beach in classic maple.
I found huntres' skin by accident while playing her lol. I was walking in the lava because I just fought the direseeker and then she started climbing down into it. I use controller so accidentally moving up and down ropes happens often, but it's not frustrating
8:39 there's a wiki?? every time I've tried looking one up I only find the original game or RoR2, I haven't found a wiki for Returns yet

@@alexanderfriton3713 Because he provides a much more unique gameplay loop? Where itemization is now extremely important as well as drones since you heavily lack in the damage department.
@@acidthewolf2242 But this is true of literally all of the characters at higher difficulties or with artifacts, Artificer especially, you're basically just describing playing the game like normal. It's unique I guess... only in that it's really simple compared to everyone else, It's really just a fun little easter egg character. I mean it's fine that you like playing him, but like, it's arguably much more interesting to synergize limited items with unique skill-based abilities than just, playing a mindless blank slate basically.
I think the achievement is called to do because it has something to do with completion. Either all achievements or heck maybe 100% the game, idk just an assumption
The loader prism in sky meadow... the room for it doesn't spawn for some reason. Got the artifact, but there is no room to enter for me. Bjt I did find another way to go into the wall lol, doesn't help tho

I love how as soon as you pick up a single soldier's syringe you get lovely overlay on your character that colours you yellow, basically removing whatever skin you're using and of course you can't turn off visual effects

I kinda thing in modern day most devs add secrets and just expect community to find it collectively. By various means of somebody accidentally finding it and sharing about it, to other people actively searching every nook and cranny for loooong times to make sure that there isn't a random hidden wall or secret anywhere. I personally don't care much for finding secrets myself so I am glad if there are resources of people telling me where thing are

yo ive been wondering if playing on Monsoon is necesarry for any unlocks in this game? i know for the prisms it isnt but for other stuff maybe
There is a challenge that actually says that you have to play on Monsoon. It is the only one requiring Monsoon.
ancient scepter unlock requires you to win monsoon as mercenary but thats about it
I have seen prism on risk of rain, but it was disabled for some reason (there was only outlines). Maybe thats because I haven't unlocked merc at that moment
Yeah, prisms will only appear as outlines unless you’ve unlocked the survivor
If you really need mobility early especially on that Sky Meadow one then you can artifact of honor + command and grab Clovers and farm enemies for more items instead of looping, it's the best way to get hundreds of items in a run when almost every enemy starts dropping an item after 25-40 clovers
If you want to play feeling like enemies just won’t die and youcan (and will) get ganked at any moment from a pile of overloading enemies.. go for it.

Actually, most things that require mobility can be done easily with drifters alt utility, it increases your speed and gives better air mobility

Just the ones he covered although if you count Judgement skins as secret then yeah every character except Robomando

Yeah that was the problem I did it two more times after even did the 56 Leaf Clover strategy another guy in the comments came up with and only needed 17 of that Secondary Magazine with A Saftey Jetpack and 6-7 Goat Hooves with Mercenary’s Whirlwind (Default Secondary)
Another cool thing is you can quit after you get a Prism I did it for Chef because I was trying to loop for Loaders and was annoyed by how much i had to but they let me keep The Chef Prism though just to be safe i’d rather Game Over
anyone knows what are the three secret bosses to unlock second M1 for huntress?
Your choice. There are several of them. 1. Acrid in a water location. 2. Pig in an apron in a secret location pig beach. 3. The golem that is below the 1 location of the proximity artifact. 4. Killing robomanda to get a secret character. 5. The lizard that sits on the right behind the lava to open the miner
Providence also counts from what I've heard
dire seeker (miner unlock boss), cognation golem (the one you kill to unlock the artifact), imp vanguard (imp from artifact of origin), acrid, and providence

I have a similar issue I was on rainstorm and where the prism should’ve been an outline of it was there instead

@@leelandrajkumar5555 yeah i figured it out like 20 minutes after writing that comment, the artifact of spite has to be activated (at least for sky meadow one) and then the area will be there

bro the existence of merc isn't a spoiler, he was in both previous games and is unlocked in exactly the same way as he was in ror1. Y'know what I would consider a spoiler tho, pilot seeing as he's an entirely new survivor to this game. (also just git gud, sorry I had to slip that in)
