No two runs in the iconic roguelike are the same, and that has never been truer. Risk of Rain Returns bring new and enhanced Survivors, customizable Survivor abilities, fresh items, monsters, and a brand-new game mode. The game’s difficulty increases the longer you play, so prepare to fight through hordes of enemies that threaten your continued existence, collect and combine items to enhance your abilities, and scale your power to godlike levels.
Many Survivors fled the mysterious attack on your ship. Forge new paths to explore with 15 unique Survivors, each with new abilities to master. Two entirely new Survivors are making their debut in Risk of Rain Returns.

Do you remember that iconic line when elder Lemurian said "Monsieur, does this mean, risk of rain is back?" and then the commando, looking at his faithful team, said "Yes".
Beautiful scene, worth losing everything but humanity.
and then the chef said "it's riskin' time' and rained all over the place
just beat it... i almost cried when the pilot said "we've returned.." and risked everywhere... not to mention it was raining..
we're making it off Petrichor with everything but our humanity with this one lads

@@ERBaruin No I totally felt the same way, everything felt exactly as I remembered it but when you compare them side by side its easily doubled in pixel count

I hope Risk of Rain Return will be ported to xbox and PS as soon as possible. And I would really like it to be faster than with the DLC for ROR2
Have they said anything about even doing a port. I have no reason to think they wouldn’t but ive never seen any clue that they are even working on bringing it to xbox and ps

Loved the part where commando said, "its risking time," and proceeded to rain all over the place.
My favorite moment in the game is when the Commando says: It's Risk of rain` time. And Providence begins to fight
I didn't actually care for the first game, but Risk of Rain 2 was great! Here's hoping I'll like this remake.
RoR2 was a different team, this is the original team.

while everything in this game looks stunning, the mute colors for the background and the characters might mean your gonna have a hard time telling what apart im the heat of a fight

@@DemoniteBL I tried Salt & Sacrifice, in my opinion, it's not as good as RoRR. It's really your choice though, but I would pick RoRR. Salt & Sacrifice has a lot of jank and problems that need to be ironed out, RoRR came out pretty smooth. I reckon you wait on Salt & Sacrifice for a few updates.
It feels like it's new, while maintaining aspects from both games, just by the trailer i can see they completely improved the pixel art style on enemies and overall world, the skill setting is new and the trials mode, which looks like challenge mode, its a great improvement from the first game but i don't get it why they release it on switch first only, it should be easier to port it to ps/xbox

Gotta love the imagination Gearbox had for this franchise when they acquired it.

The remake is made fully by hopoo, it's only published by gearbox.
The work on the remake was being done even before the acquisition. And as mentioned above, it's entirely BY Hopoo, alongside Starstorm (RoR 1 mod) devs.
Bro is too dumb to do basic research to find out hopoo made the remake and gearbox is making a completely new dlc for 2
The remake is made by hopoo with no influence from Gearbox, i don't really care about the mobile game and i don't know why people do, just do not play it. The new DLC looks rad too

From everything I can see here, Returns was mandated by Gearbox to re-popularize the original in preparation for the gacha title.
